2. Sicherheit
Der Hersteller haftet nicht für Schäden aufgrund
Nichtbeachtung der Gesamtdokumentation, ins-
besondere für Schäden aufgrund Nichtbeachtung
der Betriebsanleitung.
2.1 Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Folgende Bestimmungen vor Ausführung sämtlich-
er Tätigkeiten beachten.
Produktsicherheit
Der Motor ist nach dem Stand der Technik und
den anerkannten sicherheitstechnischen Regeln
gebaut. Dennoch sind bei seiner Verwendung
Gefahren für Leib und Leben des Benutzers oder
Dritter bzw. Beeinträchtigungen des Motors und
anderer Sachwerte möglich. Daher:
• Motor nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand
sowie bestimmungsgemäß, sicherheits- und
gefahrenbewusst unter Beachtung dieser An-
leitung betreiben.
• Diese Anleitung und alle mitgeltenden Doku-
mente vollständig und lesbar halten und dem
Personal jederzeit zugänglich aufbewahren.
• Jede Arbeitsweise unterlassen, die das Personal
oder unbeteiligte Dritte gefährdet.
• Bei sicherheitsrelevanter Störung Motor sofort
stillsetzen und Störung durch zuständige Person
beseitigen lassen.
• Ergänzend zur Gesamtdokumentation die
gesetzlichen oder sonstigen Sicherheits- und
Unfallverhütungsvorschriften sowie die gel-
tenden Normen und Richtlinien des jeweiligen
Betreiberlandes einhalten.
Modikationen
Ohne die schriftliche Zustimmung des Herstellers
haftet der Hersteller nicht für vom Nutzer vorge-
nommeneEingrie(Modikationen)amProdukt,
wie Umbau, Veränderung, Neugestaltung usw.

Personalqualikation
• Dieses Gerät darf nicht von Kindern benutzt
werden. Es kann benutzt werden von Personen
mit verringerten physischen, sensorischen
oder mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an
Erfahrung und Wissen, wenn sie beaufsichtigt
oder bezüglich des sicheren Gebrauchs des
Gerätes unterwiesen wurden und die daraus
resultierenden Gefahren verstehen. Reinigung
und Benutzerwartung dürfen nicht von Kindern
durchgeführt werden.
• Sicherstellen, dass mit Tätigkeiten am Motor
beauftragtes Personal vor Arbeitsbeginn diese
Anleitung und alle mitgeltenden Dokumente
gelesen und verstanden hat, insbesondere
Sicherheits-, Wartungs- und Instandsetzungs-
informationen.
• Verantwortungen, Zuständigkeiten und Überwa-
chung des Personals regeln.
• Alle Arbeiten nur von technischem Fachpersonal
durchführen lassen:
- Montage-, Instandsetzungs-, Wartungsarbei-
ten
- Arbeiten an der Elektrik
• Zu schulendes Personal nur unter Aufsicht von
technischem Fachpersonal Arbeiten am Motor
durchführen lassen.
• Das Personal ist Vibrationen ausgesetzt, wenn
es den Motor während des Betriebs in der Hand
hält. Die Beschleunigung, der die oberen Glied-
maßen ausgesetzt sind, ist kleiner 2,5 m/s².
Gewährleistung
• Während der Gewährleistung vor Umbau-,
Instandsetzungsarbeiten oder Veränderungen
die Zustimmung des Herstellers einholen.
• Ausschließlich Originalteile verwenden.
Pichten des Personals
• Hinweise auf dem Motor beachten und lesbar
halten.
• Wenn notwendig Schutzausrüstung verwenden.
• Arbeiten am Motor nur im Stillstand ausführen.
• Bei allen Montage- und Wartungsarbeiten Motor
spannungsfrei schalten.
• Nach allen Arbeiten am Motor die Sicherheitsein-
richtungen wieder vorschriftsmäßig montieren.
2.2 Bestimmungsgemäße
Verwendung
• Motor nur für den vertikalen Einsatz vorsehen.
• Betriebsgrenzen einhalten.
• Motor nur mit Pumpwerk betreiben.
Wenn das Produkt und mitgeliefertes Zubehör für
andere Zwecke als den bestimmungsgemäßen
Zweck verwendet werden, dann mussder Nutzer die
Eignung und Zulässigkeit auf eigene Verantwortung
prüfen. Für eine vom Hersteller nicht schriftlich be-
stätigte Verwendung ist die Haftung des Herstellers
ausgeschlossen.
Der Hersteller haftet nicht für Folgen unsach-
gemäßer Behandlung, Verwendung, Wartung,
Instandsetzung und Bedienung des Gerätes sowie
normaler Abnutzung. Das Gleiche gilt, wenn sich
ein Mangel aus nicht vom Hersteller bestätigten
EingrienoderAnordnungendesNutzersergibt.
Vermeidung von naheliegendem
Missbrauch (Beispiele)
• Motor nicht in oder an Schwimmbecken, Garten-
teichen oder ähnlichen Orten verwenden.
• MotornichtindieFörderüssigkeittauchen.
• Keine entzündbaren Flüssigkeiten fördern.
• Motor nicht in explosionsgefährdeter Umgebung
verwenden.

Die Motortypen MA II und MI 4 sind Einphasen-

3.3 Funktion
Die Motortypen MA II und MI 4 sind mit dem ent-
sprechenden Pumpwerk geeignet zum Pumpen
nichtentzündbarer, aggressiver, dünnflüssiger
Medien.
4. Transport und Lagerung
4.1 Transport
Auspacken und Lieferzustand prüfen
►Motor beim Empfang auspacken und auf Trans-
portschäden prüfen.
►Transportschäden sofort dem Hersteller melden.
►Lieferung mit Hilfe der Bestellung auf Vollstän-
digkeit prüfen.
4.2 Lagerung
HINWEIS
Sachschaden durch unsachgemäße Lagerung!
►Motor ordnungsgemäß lagern.

5. Aufstellung und Anschluss

5.1 Pumpwerk an Motor montieren

►Motor auf das Pumpwerk setzen.
►Motor leicht drehen, bis der Mitnehmer in die
Kupplung eingreift.
►Mit dem Handrad (Rechtsgewinde) Motor und
Pumpwerk fest verbinden (→Bild 1).

5.2 Motor elektrisch anschließen

►Ein-/Ausschalter in Aus-Stellung „0“ bringen
(→Bild 2).
3Motor ausgeschaltet
►Sicherstellen, dass die auf dem Typenschild
aufgeführte Spannung mit der Netz-/Batterie-
spannung übereinstimmt (→Bild 2).
►Motor an Stromversorgung anschließen.
►Motor für Gleichstrombetrieb: Motor in beliebi-
ger Polung an die Stromversorgung anschließen.
6. Betrieb
3Alle Anschlüsse und Verbindungen richtig
befestigt.
►Um Einschränkungen bei der Lebensdauer zu
vermeiden, Motor nicht über einen längeren
Zeitraum im Freien verwenden.
6.1 Motor mit Überstromauslöser
betreiben
Der eingebaute Überstromauslöser schaltet den
Motor bei Überlastung ab.
►Motor abkühlen lassen.
►Um den Motor erneut zu starten, Ein-/Aus-
schalter betätigen (→Bild 3, Bild 4).
6.2 Motor mit Unterspannungs-
auslösung betreiben (nur MA II)
Motoren des Typs MA II sind optional mit Unter-
spannungsauslösung ausgerüstet und laufen nach
einer Spannungsunterbrechung nicht selbsttätig
wieder an. Bei Netzen mit großen Spannungs-
schwankungen kann der Unterspannungsauslöser
das Einschalten des Motors verhindern.

►Um den Motorerneut zustarten, Ein-/Ausschalter
betätigen.
6.3 Motor ohne Unterspannungs-
auslösung betreiben

Verletzungsgefahr durch unkontrolliert
anlaufenden Motor nach Unterbrechung der
Versorgungsspannung!
►Ein-/Ausschalter in Aus-Stellung „0“ bringen.
►Motor erneut starten.
6.4 Motor mit elektronischem
Drehzahlsteller betreiben (nur MI
4-230 E, MI 4-120 E, MI 4-100 E)
!WARNUNG
Verletzungsgefahr durch unkontrolliert
anlaufenden Motor!
►Motor nicht über Drehzahlsteller abstellen.
Motoren des Typs MI 4 sind mit elektronischem
Drehzahlsteller erhältlich, mit dem die Förderleis-
tung an den Bedarf angepasst werden kann. Die
Fördermenge bei niedrigster Drehzahl hängt von
der Netzspannung ab, bei freiem Auslauf beträgt
sie ca. 40 % der maximalen Fördermenge.
►Förderleistung mitdem Drehknopfan den Bedarf
anpassen (→Bild 5). Dabei Skalierung beachten.

7. Wartung und Instandhaltung
!GEFAHR
Lebensgefahr durch Stromschlag!
►Arbeiten an der Elektrik nur von einer Elektro-
fachkraft durchführen lassen.
►Vor Reparaturen am Motor Netzstecker ziehen.
7.1 Kohlebürsten wechseln
Nach 350 Betriebsstunden Kohlebürsten durch
Hersteller oder autorisierte Werkstatt prüfen und
ggf. wechseln lassen.
7.2 Netzkabel wechseln
MA II:
►Netzstecker ziehen.
►AnschlussraumdesMotorsönen(→Bild 6).
►Netzkabel durch ein Kabel der Qualität H05
RN-F ersetzen.
►Motorhaube wieder montieren.
MI 4:
►Netzstecker ziehen.
►AnschlussraumdesMotorsönen(→Bild 7).
►Netzkabel durch ein Kabel der Qualität H05
RN-F ersetzen.
►Ein-/Ausschalter auf Position „I“ stellen, um
Beschädigung des Überstromauslösers zu
vermeiden.
►Motorhaube wieder montieren.
8. Reparaturen
►Reparaturen durch Hersteller oder autorisierte
Vertragswerkstätten ausführen lassen.
►Nur Original-Ersatzteile von Lutz Pumpen ver-
wenden. Bei anderen Ersatzteilen ist die Haftung
von Lutz Pumpen ausgeschlossen.
9. Entsorgung
Motor gemäß örtlich geltenden Vorschriften
entsorgen.

2. Safety
The manufacturer will not be held responsible for
any damages resulting from non-compliance of the
overall documentation, in particular for damages
in case of non-compliance of the operating
instructions.
2.1 General safety information
Observe following regulations beforeaccomplishing
all activities.
Product safety
The motor is constructed in conformity with
the state of the art and approved safety-related
standards. Danger however can occur during use
for life and health of the user or third parties or
damage of the motor and other material assets.
Therefore:
• Operate the motor only in a technically sound
state, for its proper use, and conscious of
safety and hazards taking into account these
instructions.
• Ensure that these instructions and all associated
applicable documents are complete, legible, and
stored in a place that personnel can access at all
times.
• Refrain from any manner of working that
endangers personnel or uninvolved third parties.
• In the case of a safety-relevant malfunction, stop
the motor immediately and enlist a responsible
person to rectify the malfunction.
• In addition to the overall documentation,
observe the statutory or other safety and
accident prevention regulations, as well as the
valid standards and guidelines of the respective
operating country.
Modications
Unless the manufacturer has provided its
consent in writing, the manufacturer is not
liable for interventions performed by the
user(modications)ontheproduct,such
as conversion, alteration, new design, etc.

Duties of the operator

• Operate the motor only in a technically sound

• Ensure observance and monitoring of:
- Proper use

prevention regulations
- Safety provisions in handling hazardous
substances
- Valid standardsand guidelines inthe respective
country of operation
• Provide protective equipment.

Personnel qualication
• This device must not be used by children. It may
be used by persons of reduced physical, sensory
or mental capacity or by persons lacking in
experience or knowledge provided that they are
supervised or have been instructed in the safe
use of the device and understand the associated
hazards. Cleaning or user maintenance must not
be performed by children.
• Ensure that personnel tasked with work on
the motor have read and understood these
instructions and all associated applicable
documents, particularly safety, maintenance and
servicing information, before they start work.
• Clarify responsibilities, competencies and
monitoring of the personnel.
• Ensure that all work is carried out by technical
qualiedpersonnelonly:
- Assembly, servicing, maintenance work
- Work on the electrics
• Personnel to be trained must only work on
the motor under the supervision of technical
personnel.
• Personnel holding the motor in their hands
during operation will be subjected to vibrations.
The upper limbs are exposed to an acceleration
of less than 2.5 m/s².
Statutory warranty
• During the guarantee period, obtain the
manufacturer’spermissionformodications,
maintenance work or alteration.
• Use only original parts.
Duties of the personnel
• Observe the notices on the motor and maintain
them in a legible state.
• Use protective equipment where necessary.
• Only perform work on the motor during
downtime.
• Ensure that the motor is disconnected before you
carry out assembly and maintenance work.
• After completing all the work on the motor,
remount the safety devices in accordance with
specications.
2.2 Proper use
• The motor may only be installed in an upright
position.
• Observe operating limits.
• The motor may only be operated with a pump
tube.
If the product and supplied accessories are used for
other purposes than the intended purpose, it is the
responsibility of the user to check the suitability and
admissibility.Productusenotconrmedinwriting
by the manufacturer absolves the manufacturer of
any liability.
The manufacturer is not liable for consequences of
incorrect treatment, use, maintenance, servicing
and operation of the appliance, as well as normal
wear and tear. The same applies if faults arise from
interventionorcongurationsonthepartofthe
usernotconrmedbythemanufacturer.
Prevention of obvious misapplication

3.3 Function
Together with the respective pump tube, the motor
types MA II and MI 4 are suitable for pumping
non-ammable,aggressiveandthin-bodiedliquids.
4. Transport and storage
4.1 Transport
Unpacking and check of condition on delivery
►Unpack the motor on receipt and check for
transport damages.
►Report transport damage to the manufacturer
immediately.
►Check that the consignment is complete as
ordered.
4.2 Storage

5. Installation/Assembly and
connection

5.1 Assembly of pump tube and

6.1 Operation of the motor with
overcurrent release
Theintegratedovercurrentreleaseswitchesothe
motor if overloaded.

order to restart the motor (→Fig. 3, Fig. 4).
6.2 Operation of the motor with
low voltage release (only MA II)
Motors of type MA II are optionally equipped with
low voltage release and do not start automatically
again after interruption of power supply. In case
ofmainssupplywithmajorvoltageuctuations,
the low voltage release may make it impossible to
switch on the motor.

6.3 Operation of the motor

►Do not stop the motor by using the speed con-
troller.
Motors of type MI 4 are available with an electronic
speedcontrollerwithwhichtheowratecanbe
adjustedasrequired.Theowrateatminimum
speed depends on the respective mains supply. At
a free discharge it corresponds to approx. 40% of
themaximumowrate.
►Flow rate can be adjusted as required by turning
the rotary handle (→Fig. 5). Observe scale.

7. Maintenance and servicing
!DANGER
Danger of death from electrocution!
►Work on the electrics may be carried out by an
electrical specialist only.
►Disconnect the mains plug before repairing the
motor in any way.
7.1 Change carbon brushes
After 350 hours of operation the carbon brushes
must be inspected or changed by the manufacturer
or an authorized repair shop.
7.2 Change power cable
MA II:
►Disconnect the mains plug.
►Open the terminal compartment of the motor
(→Fig. 6).
►Replace the power cable by a cable of type
H05 RN-F.
►Remount the motor cover.
MI 4:
►Disconnect the mains plug.
►Open the terminal compartment of the motor
(→Fig. 7).
►Replace the power cable by a cable of type
H05 RN-F.
►Reseton-/oswitchtoposition„I“toprevent
damage of the overcurrent release.
►Remount the motor cover.
8. Repairs
►Repairs should be made by the manufacturer or
authorized repair shops.
►Only use original Lutz Pumpen spare parts. If
other spare parts are used, liability on the part
of Lutz Pumpen is obsolete.
9. Disposal
Dispose of the motor according to the locally appli-
cable regulations.
