Wa ning:
Pe ple wh fly sh uld rec gnize that vari us types f risks are inv lved, and they sh uld take all
precauti ns t minimize them, since they cann t be eliminated entirely. The pr peller is a vital c mp nent
f the aircraft. A mechanical failure c uld cause a f rced landing r create vibrati ns sufficiently severe t
damage the aircraft. Pr pellers are subject t c nstant vibrati n stresses fr m the m t r and air stream,
which are added t high bending and centrifugal stresses.
Bef re a pr peller was certified as being safe t perate n an airplane, an adequate margin f safety was
dem nstrated.
It is essential that the pr peller is pr perly maintained acc rding t the rec mmended service pr cedures
and a cl se watch must be exercised t detect impending pr blems bef re they bec me seri us. Unusual
vibrati n sh uld be investigated and fixed, as it c uld be a warning that s mething is g ing wr ng.
We urge y u t read this Manual th r ughly. It c ntains imp rtant inf rmati n ab ut y ur pr peller. The
pr peller is ne f the m st critical parts having vital imp rtance t the flight safety. It theref re deserves
the care and maintenance called f r in this Manual. Please give it y ur attenti n, especially the secti n

Pr peller FES-LAK-P11-100 described herein is designed and tested acc rding t CS 22 Subpart J.
4.2. Const uction Mate ial
Pr peller is made f GFC and CFC. It is made in accurate metal m lds, which were manufactured using
m dern CNC techn l gy. This made p ssible t have very accurate pr peller ge metry.
4.3. Su face finish
Quality acrylic white paint is used t pr tect the c mp site b dy against m isture and er si n. Each blade
pair is sanded and p lished s that mass difference is nly 0.1 g. Paint is resistant against fuel, il and
ther chemical pr ducts. This type f paint has als an excellent flexibility. Tips can be painted red as a
safety mark.
5. Installation
1. Check pr peller type and c nditi n. Clean pr peller and let it dry.
2. Oil n any f the surfaces must be av ided. Check b lts f r cracks, thread and c rr si n. Replace if
needed (imp rtant that the b lts w uld be f the same length, s as n t t damage the m t r
bearings).
3. Assemble pr peller blades with the pr peller h lder. Make sure that blade marked with a small d t
is inserted int pr peller h lder side which is als marked with small d t.
4. Insert special blade h lding b lts, fr m back side f pr peller. This means that head of the bolt
must be on trailing edge side of propeller as on picture below! One f the b lts is marked n the
head with a small d t. Be sure t install it int marked side f the h lder. Bef re inserting b lts,
grease them just slightly n the stable. T much grease will be rem ved by centrifugal f rce, s
use really a minimum am unt f grease.
5. On the threaded side f a b lt put M8 In x washer, and thread in cr wn nut M8. Tighten the cr wn
nut with 13 key s that there is s me tensi n in h lder f rks, s that b lt can n t r tate. H wever
blades must still be able t pen and cl se freely. Then insert int a b lt h le and tr ugh cr wn nut a
safety pin (with 1.4 mm diameter), cut it t pr per length and bend it ar und cr wn nut.

pr peller will be damaged.
6. Inspection
1. Every time y u g t fly, th r ughly perf rm preflight inspecti n:
•take a l k at the entire pr peller inspecting f r damages, leading and trailing edges f r p ssible
splitting r de-laminati n.
•c mp site pr peller blades are always as g d as they l k. If the t tal blade surface sh w n
cracks, n rec nditi ning r verhaul will be necessary. Pay special attenti n t the r t part f the
blade, leading and trailing edges.
•inspect central part f the pr peller f r p ssible cracks r def rmati ns. N cracks r def rmati ns
are all wed. If such are f und, c ntact the manufacturer.
2. At the 25 h urs inspecti n (peri dically t be d ne up t the annual inspecti n):

•make the n rmal preflight inspecti n, but especially pay attenti n t the center part f the pr peller,
leading and trailing edges f the blades f r cracks and de-laminati ns and the lacquer surface f r
c nditi n.
•inspect blades f r st ne damages, and mark them.
3. Annual inspecti n r inspecti n after up t 15 % ver-speed f the rated maximum r tati nal speed
RPM:
•inspect pr peller as per instructi ns given under §6 (2). If any crack is f und, the pr peller must be
rem ved fr m service immediately. Send pr peller t the manufacture f r inspecti n.
4. Over-speed: Up t 15 % ab ve the rated maximum r tati nal speed RPM inspecti n per §6 (2) and
§6 (3) is required. At m re than 15 % ver-speed the pr peller sh uld be sent t the fact ry f r

2. Small cracks up t 10 mm f length in a lacquer are all wed. Make sure cracks are in a lacquer
layer nly and n t g ing int the c mp site structure. Fine cracks in the lacquer surface acr ss the
blade axis are indicati ns f bending vibrati ns. Such cracks m stly ccur in the uter part f the
blade. N sudden blade failure can ccur due t these cracks. If such cracks d ccur, the fact ry
sh uld be c nsulted regarding airw rthiness, if p ssible t gether with a ph t and inf rmati n
ab ut perating time.
3. The er si n ccurs due t the peripheral speed f the blade and is n rmal. H wever, always take
care that the er si n never bec mes s deep that FRP-c at is damaged and there is a p ssibility that
m isture may enter int the blade b dy. In this case the blade must be repaired/ verhauled
immediately.
4. St ne damages. If st ne damages are visible, mark them and check them peri dically. Maximum
size f st ne damages permitted f r perati n is 2x4 mm large and 0.7 mm deep. Maximum number
f damages all wed is ne damage per 4 cm – 2. If bigger r m re damages exist n a blade, send
pr peller t manufacture f r inspecti n and verhaul.
