Things to check before you start
Check all parts for possible transport damage after un-
packing. The supplier must be informed immediately in
case of complaints. Later complaints are not accepted.
Check the delivery for completeness.
Familiarise yourself with the device before using it by
consulting the operating instructions.

Check that you have noted all the following instuctions:
WARNING: When operating power tools, the fol-
lowing general safety measures have to be taken
in order to protect the user against electric shock,
risk of injury and re risk. Read through all of this
information before operating this power tool and
keep the safety information

Warning! Denotes risk of personal injury, loss of life, or dama-
ge to the tool in case of non-observance.
Wear ear protection.
Wear eye protection.
Wear respiratory protection.
The product complies with the applicable European directives
and an evaluation method of conformity for this directives was
done.
Read the instruction manual.
Wear protective gloves.
Switch the product off and disconnect it from the power
supply before assembly, cleaning, adjustments, maintanance,
storage and transportation.
The scroll saw use for wood only.

Safe work
1 Keep your working area clean and tidy
–A disorderly working area can lead to accidents.
2 Be aware of the effects of the environment
–Do not leave electrical power tools out in the rain.
–Do not use electrical power tools in moist or wet surroundings.
–Ensure that your working area is well lit.
–Do not use electrical power tools in areas where there is risk of re or
explosion.
3 Protect yourself from electric shock
4 Avoid touching earthed objects such as pipes, heating radiators, ovens
or refrigerators with parts of your body.
5 Keep other people at a safe distance.
–Do not allow other people, in particular children, to touch the electrical
–power tool or the mains lead. Keep them away from your working area.
6 Store currently unused electrical power tools in a safe place.
–When not being used electrical power tools should be stored in dry
conditions in a high or enclosed place, out of reach of children.
7 Do not overload your electrical power tool
–By keeping within the specied working range of the tool you will work
more safely and achieve a better result.
8 Use the right electrical power tool for the task
–Do not use low-output devices for heavy tasks.
–Do not use an electrical power tool for purposes for which it was not
intended. For example, do not use a hand operated circular saw for
trimming tree branches or cutting logs.
9 Wear suitable clothing
–Do not wear loose-tting clothing or jewellery. They could become
caught on moving parts.
–We recommend that you wear anti-slip footwear when working out-
doors.
–If you have long hair, wear a hair net.
10 Use personal protective equipment
–Wear protective goggles.
–Wear a dust mask if your work generates dust.

ensure that the connections are made and used properly.
12 Do not use the mains lead for purposes for which it was not intended.
–Do not use the mains lead to pull the plug out of the mains socket.
Protect the mains lead from heat, oil and sharp edges.
13 Securely support the workpiece
–An additional support is necessary for long workpieces (table, trestle,
etc.) in order to prevent the machine from tipping over.
–Use clamps or a vice to grip the workpiece rmly. This is much safer
than holding it with your hand.
14 Avoid placing your body in an unnatural position.
–Make sure that you have secure footing and always maintain your
balance.
–Avoid awkward hand positions in which a sudden slip could cause one
or both hands to come into contact with the ginding wheel/belt.
15 Take care of your tools
–Keep cutting tools sharp and clean in order to be able to work better
and more safely.
–Follow the instructions for lubrication and for tool replacement.
–Check the connection cable of the electric tool regularly and have it
replaced by a recognised specialist when damaged.
–Check extension cables regularly and replace them when damaged.
–Keep the handle dry, clean and free of oil and grease.
16 Pull the mains plug out of the mains socket.
–Never remove loose splinters, chips or jammed wood pieces from the
running saw blade.
–During non-use of the electric tool or prior to maintenance and when
replacing tools such as saw blades, bits, milling heads.
17 Make sure that no spanners, keys etc. are left attached.
–Check before switching on that all spanners, keys and setting tools
have been removed.
18 Avoid unintentionally starting up the device.
–Check that the switch is set to OFF on the device when the mains plug
is inserted into the mains socket.
19 Using an extension lead for working outdoors.
–Only use approved and appropriately identied extension cables for
use outdoors.
–Only use cable reels in the unrolled state.

20 Remain alert.
–Watch what you are doing. Proceed with caution. Do not use electrical
power tools if you cannot concentrate.
21 Check the electric tool for potential damage
–Protective devices and other parts must be carefully inspected to en-
sure that they are fault-free and function as intended prior to continued
use of the electric tool.
–Check whether the moving parts function faultlessly and do not jam
or whether parts are damaged. All parts must be correctly mounted
and all conditions must be fullled to ensure fault-free operation of the
electric tool.
–The moving protective hood may not be xed in the open position.
–Damaged protective devices and parts must be properly repaired or
replaced by a recognised workshop, insofar as nothing different is
specied in the operating manual.
–Damaged switches must be replaced at a customer service workshop.
–Do not use any faulty or damaged connection cables.
–Do not use any electric tool on which the switch cannot be switched on
and off.
22 CAUTION!
–Exercise elevated caution for double mitre cuts.
23 ATTENTION!
–The use of inserted tools and accessories other than those recom-
mended by the manufacturer could lead to you being injured.
24 Have your electrical power tool repaired at an electrical equipment repair
specialist.
–This electrical power tool complies with the relevant safety regulations.
Repairs may only be carried out by a specialist electrical repair centre
using original spare parts, otherwise injury could occur to the user.

1 Safety precautions
–Warning! Do not use damaged or deformed saw blades.
–Replace a worn table insert.
–Only use saw blades recommended by the manufacturer which con-
form to EN 847-1.
–Make sure that a suitable saw blade for the material to be cut is select-
ed.
–Wear suitable personal protective equipment. This includes:
–Hearing protection to avoid the risk of becoming hearing impaired,
–Respiratory protection to avoid the risk of inhaling harmful dust,
–Wear gloves when handling saw blades and rough materials. Carry
saw blades in a container whenever practical.
–Wear goggles. Sparks generated during work or splinters, chippings
and dust coming from the device can lead to loss of eyesight.
–Connect a dust collecting device to the electric tool when sawing
wood. The emission of dust is inuenced, among other things, by the
type of material to be processed, the signicance of local separation
(collection or source) and the correct setting of the hood/guide plates/
guides.
–Do not use saw blades made of high-speed alloy steel (HSS steel).
2 Maintenance and repair
–Pull out the mains plug for any adjustment or repair tasks.
–The generation of noise is inuenced by various factors, including the
characteristics of saw blades, condition of saw blade and electric tool.
Use saw blades which were designed for reduced noise development,
insofar as possible. Maintain the electric tool and tool attachments
regularly and if necessary, initiate repairs in order to reduce noise.
–Report faults on the electric tool, protective devices or the tool attach-
ment to the person responsible for safety as soon as they are discov-
ered.
3 Safe work
–When transporting the electric tool, only use the transport devices.
Never use the protective devices for handling or transport.
–The oor around the machine must be level, clean and free of loose
particles, such as chips and cutting residues.

–Do not remove any cutting residues or other parts of workpieces from the
cutting zone while the machine is running and the saw unit is not at rest.
–Support long workpieces (e.g. with a roller table) to prevent them sag-
ging at the end of a cut.
–In an emergency, switch off the machine directly and pull out the pow-
er plug.
–Follow all these instructions before and while you are working with the
saw. Keep these instructions in a safe place.
–Give these safety regulations to all persons who work on the machine.
–Do not use this saw to cut re wood.
–Never use the saw to cross -cut round timber unless it is equipped with
a suitable holding device.
–The machine is equipped with a safety switch to prevent it being
switched on again accidentally after a power failure.
–Provide good lighting
–After you have switched off the motor, never slow down the saw blade
by applying pressure to its side.
–Faulty saw blades have to be replaced immediately.
–Never use saw blades which do not comply with the data specied in
this manual.
–Never dismantle the machines safety devices or put them out of oper-
ation.
–Never cut workpieces which are too small to hold securely in your
hand.
–Never load the machine so much that it cuts out.
–It is imperative to observe the manufactureres safety, operating and
maintenance instructions as well as the dimensions quoted in the
technical data.
–It is imperative to observe the accident prevention regulations in force
in your area as well as all other generally recognized rules of safety.
–The machine is designed for indoor installation only.
–Workpieces smaller than the blade guard may lead to injuries to your
hands and ngers. Use suitable aids!
–Always insert the blade so that the teeth point down toward the table.
–To avoid broken blades, always set the correct blade tension.
–Be particularly careful when sawing material with irregular cutting
proles.
–Take special care when cutting round workpieces such as rods or
tubes as they may roll away from the blade and cause the teeth to jam.
Secure such workpieces with a wedge.
–When you withdraw the workpiece the teeth may get caught in the
kerf, particularly if the gap is blocked by sawdust. If this happens you
