in the plumbing and heating industry. Inspect the device for transport damage
immediately upon receipt. The drinking water filter must be protected against
frost and must not to be installed in the immediate vicinity of heat sources
with high radiation temperature.

Intended use
The magnetic drinking water lter is intended for the ltration of drinking wa-
ter. It protects water pipes from malfunctions and corrosion damage from
foreign objects such as rust, sand or chips.
The lter cannot be used with chemical-treated circulating water. It is not suit-
able for oils, greases, solvents, soaps and other lubricants, or for removing
water-soluble substances.
Requirement for the installation site
Local installation regulations, general guidelines (e.g., WVU, DIN, DVGW or
ÖVGW or SVGW) and technical data must be observed. The installation site
must ensure that the filter is protected from chemicals, dyes, solvents, va-
pours and direct sunlight. Observe flow direction (marking on the flange) and
install free of stress. The installation site must be frost-proof. The filter must
be installed in pipelines of the same size according to its nominal size. A sew-
er connection according to DVGW or a corresponding collecting vessel (e.g, a
bucket) must be available for the drainage of the rinsing water.
The discharge takes place in accordance with DIN 1988 Part 4, e.g., freely
into the floor drain, into the sewer connection or the collecting vessel. Ensure
that the flushing water is drained without backflow.

Installation
Please note the installation diagram for installation. Firmly connect the fil-
ter with the connection to the threaded socket on the water supply network.
Use the enclosed nuts and screw connections for this. The arrow stamped
on the rotary connection (Fig. 1 + 2) must point in the direction of the water
flow. Thanks to the brass connection that can be rotated 360°, the filter can
be mounted on both vertical and horizontal lines. The filter must always be
installed in the hanging position. Ensure that the seal between the flange and
filter unit is properly seated.
Note: Tighten the nuts crosswise!

Start-up
After the magnetic drinking water filter has been installed, you can put the
backwash filter into operation by slowly opening the shut-off valves. The pipe-
line must then be vented via the nearest connection. The magnetic drinking
water filter must be checked for leaks after installation and after every main-
tenance. To do this, use the highest possible operating pressure and visually
check the filter for leaks.
Pressure reducer
The pressure reducer is set to 4 bar at the factory. After starting the magnet-
ic drinking water filter (domestic water station HWS-1), the pressure reducer
component can be set individually (4 bar is the factory setting). The pressure
can be continuously adjusted between 1 and 6 bar by turning the setting ring.
The set pressure can be read in steps of 0.5 bar on the manometer.

8
Maintenance
Maintenance includes periodic backwashing to remove floating dirt particles,
silt, sand, etc. from the filter cartridge.
It is recommended to backwash at least once a month. The arrow in the
month bar signals the next backwash period and must be adjusted to the next
date after backwashing.
Backwash
A backwash must be carried out if the water pressure in the pipe network
decreases due to increasing contamination of the filter element. Place a buck-
et under the filter (only for installation without duct connection). Then turn the
flushing handle in the direction of the arrow up to the stop (Fig. 3 + 4). The
flushing handle should be held in this position for approx. 5-10 seconds.
