Step 1: Remove the following panels
Always refer to vehicle workshop manual when removing vehicle components
Left side kick trim: Remove plastic nut at front, remove Phillips head screw behind oval cover place. Remove front and rear
scuff trims.

Step 2: Remove the following panels
Always refer to vehicle workshop manual when removing vehicle components
Remove Screws
Left side tail light assembly: Pull back boot pinch mould, Remove black cover above tail light and Remove tail light.
Pull out wiring rubber boot behind tail light.
Remove
Tail light

Step 3: Remove the following panels
Tailgate trim cover: Remove top
and side panels by hand .
Undo screws and remove pocket along bottom
of main trim then remove tailgate trim, taking
care to unplug interior light .

Step 4: Fitting Overview
Looking at wiring kit, the short section with Male/Female plugs gets inserted
behind tail light.
The section with the cylindrical plug runs into
the tailgate for the camera.
The long section with single square plug runs
into LHS kick as video input for dash display

Wiring the kit in
From inside the car, pass the tailgate ‘T harness’ out behind the LHS tail light.
Make a small cut In the wiring body grommet, then feed the cable through.
Reseat the grommet correctly into the body. Then plug the harness in line with the existing
vehicle harness and the tail light.
Refit tail light and top trim piece
Gain Access to the inside of the
cargo area, remove hidden screw
behind cover, and the manual fuel
flap opener override. You will now
be able to unclip the top of the
panel and lever it out enough to
work behind

Camera Mounting.
Remove numberplate light housing, by undoing 2 x 10mm bolts from
inside the tailgate, then unclipping the housing from outside the vehicle
Remove switch from light housing
Remove passenger
Side screw, then
Refit screw with camera
Attached to assembly
Run camera cable back under metal bracket,
run camera cable adjacent to switch wiring.
Place a small cut in rubber grommet to allow
camera lead to pass through.
Fit Surround to vehicle as a reverse of removal.

Wiring the Camera
Run Camera lead up towards the tailgate behind interior trims.
Remove LHS wiring conduit, run cable through. Use lubricant to
assist pulling through if needed
Reseat grommets for wiring conduit.
Run camera lead to camera cable, securing with cable ties.
Plug cable end together, tape connection and secure with ties.
Reassemble tailgate.

Wiring to the front of vehicle
Run the remaining lead behind the LHS cargo bay trim, being sure to
locate it low behind the trim to avoid fouling on mounting clips upon
reassembly.
Plug lead into video access plug in kick panel, tape
connection and cable tie off.
Test system and reassemble vehicle in full.
Run lead behind pinchmould on wheel-arch and under
rear and front scuff trims . Secure the cable so it avoids
mounting clips on reassembly.
Using a screw driver, push the lead under the
bottom of the B pillar trim.

Step 5: Reverse Camera Activation
To activate the camera in the vehicle, enable the RVC in IS (Infotainment System) using XUV500 flashing tool as mentioned below:
1. Connect XUV500 flashing tool and select IS (Infotainment system)
2. Select “CONFIG”
3. In Feature Selection, select “Rear View Camera” and click “Enable”
4. Switch OFF the ignition, wait for 20 seconds and switch ON ignition

Step 6: Final test and image alignment
With the engine running and the handbrake engaged, place the vehicle into reverse.
The reverse image should look similar to the below image. Some slight adjustment to the
camera may be necessary by loosening the camera in its housing adjusting to the correct
angle and re-tightening . Please note this reverse camera option activates in reverse only and
is not accessible via the “ Car Info / Reverse Camera ” Sub menu from the vehicles main
screen. This feature is inactive and will yield a black screen unless the vehicle is in reverse.

Once the desired image is achieved ,
perform a physical reversing test
