(On/Off) & Ionizer the fan will draw maximum amount of air and thus loudest.
Ionizer & UV* will automatically turn on once the unit is on.
Ozonator Ozone generator will only turn ON when user turns the
Ozone dial Clockwise (low to high). This function can be
left OFF while the Fan is ON if Ozone is not desired
(recommended setting for most occasions) until needed.
Fan Grill Removable fan grill. Wash with warm soapy water, dry

Control for the negative ion generator is separate from the O3 control. Negative ions
can be created around the clock to keep down dust and particulate.
O3, also known as ozone, can be used at modest levels in occupied spaces. To
remove heavy odor, turn the dial clockwise to increase O3 production for a short period
of time. Another way to use the ozone feature is to use a timer to completely deodorize
the home or ofce left at the highest setting while away. Unused O3 reverts back to
normal oxygen molecule in about 30 minutes.
NOTE: As you stand in front of the unit the ionizer will create a slight charge. If
you then touch a metal object there may be a static electric discharge similar to
touching a doorknob in winter.

SETTING UP YOUR AIR PURIFIER FOR OZONE
Good news! Your air purier is ready to use right now. However, if you would like
to use the ozone feature, see below for plate insertion instructions.
To Install the Ozone Plate
1) Unplug power cord.
2) Remove the lter by unscrewing (2) two hand screws located top of lter.
3) Insert the ozone plate with arrow pointing forward (front of unit).
For Optimal Air Purier Position
The ideal location is to place the air purier at a central location on a counter top,
shelving or any space above ground. Since ozone is heavier than air, elevated
placement will allow for more effective usage of ozonator. If you must, there is no
problem with the air purier on the oor or in the corner of the room.
Always allow at least three inches of space between the back and the side of the
unit from the wall or other objects to allow for proper airow suction.
We suggest positioning the air purier in the room or area that is close to the
primary source of odor.
If you desire to use the ozone for the entire home via the home’s HVAC system,
set the fan switch on your home’s heating & cooling system to the ON position
(rather than AUTO.) Place the air purier facing an air return vent with the ozone
generator turned ON.

Start with the Air Purier on its lowest O3 setting and turn the O3 dial “up” as
necessary. The ideal amount of O3 will leave your room smelling clean and fresh.
If the O3 setting is too high, you will smell too much O3 in your home. Keep in mind
traditionally O3 is used intermittently on an as needed basis or long term with no
pets or people around. Within thirty minutes, O3 will break down and revert back
to normal oxygen.
The Ionizer is designed to run independently from Ozone production and is on
automatically when the fan is on. The ionizer can be used around the clock to
keep dust and particulate at bay.
Individual sensitivity to O3 and preference may vary and should be adjusted
accordingly. The effect of O3 on indoor air may vary according to atmospheric and/
or environmental conditions such as altitude, humidity, air movement, and severity
of existing odors, house design and square footage.
ALTITUDE: Generally, in higher altitudes the requirement for activated oxygen
decreases. Therefore, higher altitudes should use a lower settings.
HUMIDITY: Generally, in higher humidity the requirement for activated oxygen
increases. Therefore increased humidity may require higher settings. High humidity
will require additional cleaning.
ADJUSTING THE OZONE SETTING

Because of its high reactivity and its ability to destroy microscopic organisms,
Ozone has the reputation of being a highly effective air purier. Whatever your
needs are, the ozone feature can be used in a variety of locations: hotels, hospitals,
stores/shops, ofces and residential spaces. All types of air-conditioned spaces
that utilize this product are able to transform a smoky and smelly area into a clean
air scent and freshen the environment.
Ozone is one of the more cost effective solutions when compared to all other types
of technology on the market today.
Here are few of the ozone function’s positive benets:
• Actively defends you from contaminants, impurities and unwanted bacteria in
the environment without having to pull air through the air purier.
• Decreases viruses and unhealthy bacteria from the surroundings therefore
lessening the growth of ailments like pneumonia, tuberculosis and other
sicknesses.
• Reduces the risk of allergies, bacterial or viral infections, hay fever and respiratory
problems to some extent.
Something to keep in mind- everyone interacts with ozone differently, it is
recommended that the ozone feature be kept on while people and pets are not
present in the room. Although the Classic Air Purier has ozone output levels
below the safety standard, overexposure can cause the following:
• Decreased lung function
• Aggravation of asthma
• Throat irritation
• Headaches
Ozone is NOT necessary. The air purier will work without ozone feature ON or
without the plate being inserted. Should you have the ozone plate inserted, the
Mammoth Classic Air Purier has a separate Ozone knob that can adjust ozone
production independently.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE OZONE FEATURE
• Cough
• Chest Pain
• Shortness of breath
• Inammation of lung tissue

Some users who are sensitive to ozone set their units up on a timer so that the
purier does its work only when they are away from home. This allows for a
higher setting and higher concentration, which can be more effective for purging
purposes. The ozone will normally dissipate in less than an hour after the purier
is turned off.

When the air purier no longer produces enough ozone to be effective, the ozone
plate should be cleaned (unless it has burnt spots, then the ozone plate should be
replaced). A good rule of thumb is to clean the ozone plate every month if used
continuously.
To clean the ozone plate, rst turn the unit OFF and UNPLUG from outlet. Then
remove the ozone plates from back of unit. Pull plates rmly in the center to
remove from the slot. With plate rmly supported in the hand apply a solution of
warm water and ammonia (50/50 solution is suggested) or a strong grease cutting
detergent. Scrub with a stiff brush if necessary. Be careful not to drop the plate or
scrub off the silicon. Clean both the metal screen and the ceramic tile. Rinse plate
in hot water and DRY COMPLETELY before installing. If available you may use a
hair dryer to dry the plate. Reinstall plate, making sure it is secured and ush with
the back of the unit.
If the ozone generator is making excessive noise or excessive sparks is visible,
ozone plate should be replaced (even if no burnt mark is present).
To clean needlepoint ionizer, rst turn OFF and UNPLUG from outlet. Remove
the fan grill cover. The needle point ionizer will be easy to nd in front of the fan
by looking for two pieces of wire. Take a q-tip or cotton swab dipped in alcohol
and clean any dust that may have accumulated on the needlepoints. This process
may be done when plates are being cleaned. While you have the front grill cover
off the unit you may also clean the fan and grill itself. To clean the fan, simply
wipe the blades with a damp cloth or vacuum. The grill cover may also be cleaned
with warm soapy water. Be careful that the fan grill cover is completely dry before
installing.
To clean the pre-lter, simply wipe down the surface to remove all the bigger
particles. Do not rise the lters as water will damage the HEPA and Carbon lter
inside. If the Mammoth Classic Air Purier is continuously ON, replace lter every
6 months. The replacement lter can be purchased at an affordable price at www.
mpurier.com or call (800) 470-4201.
NOTE: If you have purchased extra replacement lter in advance, keep the lter
in the original packaging since exposure to open air will start the life cycle of the
air lter.

If you suspect a problem with your unit check the following:
• Make sure plate is clean (see above).
• Unit is plugged in properly and turned on.
• Check the fuse to make sure it is installed properly and not burned out. To
replace fuse, push in and turn fuse holder to the left, remove old fuse, replace
with spare. Use 1 amp fuse, 1.25 inches long.
• Wall outlet is active
• Check plate alignment making sure the ceramic plate is almost ush with back
of unit.
• It is important that the Classic Air Purier be properly grounded to avoid potential
shock. If the fan is not operating or after cleaning the plate no buzzing sound
is detected on the high setting of the O3, please contact your local dealer.

Q. WHAT DOES THE AIR PURIFIER DO?
A. The Classic Air Purier is designed to trap 99% of the bacteria, mold, and
allergens in your home or space. It treats the air in your home or ofce by
breaking down odor causing pollutants and dropping airborne particulate from
your breathing space.
Q. HOW DOES THE AIR PURIFIER TREAT THE AIR?
A. The Classic Air Purier produces ozone and negatively charged ions, in the
same way nature uses these effective cleansing agents to treat outdoor air.
Q. HOW DOES THE CLASSIC AIR PURIFIER WORK?
A. The purier effectively traps 99% of pollutants through a three-stage process:
1. The Classic Air Purier uses a needlepoint ionizer to drop dust, smoke and
other harmful particles from the air we breathe. In our homes and ofces there
are a lack of negative ions and an abundance of positive ions. The buildings
we spend most of our time in block out the natural occurring negative ions. The
Classic Air Purier recreates the natural balance of positive to negative ions to
signicantly reduce airborne particulate.
2. This Purier uses electricity to split oxygen O2 molecules into single Oxygen
atoms, which attach loosely to other O2 molecules to become O3 (activated
oxygen). This loosely attached oxygen atom is unstable and seeks to bond
with chemical compounds and other odor causing pollutants in order to oxidize
them.
3. HEPA lters are effective at capturing dust, mold, pollens, allergens and
other solid particles as small as 3 micron. Through a very ne paper-like lter,
the pollutants in the air pass through the HEPA lter and are trapped. At this
point, any bacteria and particles die because the HEPA lters are dry and
sterile, preventing any future growth.
4. Carbon lters are great at absorbing odors and eliminating foul smell from
the air.
5. UV Lamp and Photocatalytic (TiO2) work together to destroy and eliminate
any viruses and VOC that’s too small to be trapped by the HEPA lter.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Mammoth ClassicTM Air Purier User Guide
Visit us at: www.mpurier.com For Questions Call: 800.470.4201 13
Q. HOW DOES NATURE PRODUCE OZONE?
A. Ozone is created electrically during active thunderstorms. The electrical
discharge creates a fresh sweet smell. The ultraviolet rays of the sun striking
hydrocarbons in our atmosphere also create ozone.
Q. IS OZONE SAFE?
A. Ozone in very high concentrations can be irritating to mucous membranes and
the respiratory system. We recommend you set the O3 dial properly, either
for short-term temporary use or for longer-term use with no pets or people are
around.
Q. HOW DOES NATURE PRODUCE IONS?
A. Waterfalls, lightning, and the waves of the ocean all create negative ions.
Q. HOW LONG DOES THE FILTER LAST?
A. Because the lter traps unwanted particles, absorb odors, and reacts with the
UV light, the lter will last about 6 months after continuous use. Water cannot
wash away the HEPA since it traps very ne particles; the carbon lter will be
completely saturated and the photocatalytic property will be depleted. Without
changing the lter every 6 months, the efciency of the air purier will decrease
dramatically and very inefcient.
Mammoth offers industry cheapest replacement lters (all-in-one combo).
Q. IS THE PURIFIER DIFFICULT TO INSTALL?
A. No, the Classic Air Purier is easy to set up. For use without O3, the air purier
is already ready to be used. For O3, simply install the O3 plates (located in a
separate box packaged inside the carton), plug it in, and turn the separate O3
dial. Install the Classic Air Purier in any room with the purier recommended
four (4) or more feet off the ground.
Q. WHERE SHOULD I PLACE THE AIR PURIFIER IN MY HOME OR OFFICE?
A. The Classic Air Purier should be placed in the room where you have the most
pollutants. The purier is lightweight and easy to move so it is recommended
that you try placing it in a couple of locations to help decide what works best for
your environment. An elevated location is better to distribute ions and activated
oxygen more evenly. The Classic Air Purier works best if it is placed within 10
feet of a cold air return duct.
