The CAMEL by Mangar, is an inatable lifting
device which is designed to sit up and lift a fallen
person from the oor. When inated, the CAMEL
lifts the patient into a raised seated position ready
to stand with or without assistance.
This equipment may be used with or without a
helper as required.
The CAMEL is powered by a Mangar Airo
Compressor and controlled using a 4-Way Hand
Control. Please refer to the separate Airo Plus
compressor instructions before operating.

WARNINGS
• This equipment MUST only be used by persons
familiar in its use.
• The medical state of a person needing to be
raised MUST be assessed before commencing
a lift.
• Ensure that the surface on which the CAMEL
is to be placed is free from sharp objects.
NOTE: Place a blanket, groundsheet, towel or
similar under the CAMEL if using it on a rough
surface.
• If a slide sheet has been used to transfer the
patient onto the CAMEL it must be removed from
under the patient before commencing a lift.
• Sections 2, 3 and 4 MUST always be fully
inated in sequence from the bottom up, in order
to maintain stability. NOTE: The backrest may
be partially inated before any other section is
raised. Once the lowest section is fully inated,
the backrest can be raised further as required.

Connecting the Hand Control and Airo - g. 2
• Remove the CAMEL from the carrying bag,
unfasten the straps and unroll.
• Connect the four hoses from the hand control
to the corresponding numbered and coloured
connectors on the CAMEL (A).
• Connect the hose (B) from the hand control to
the Airo compressor.
• Position the Airo compressor so that it will
not be in the way while positioning the patient.
Ensure that the hoses are not kinked.

Airo ‘Auto’ Control Button - g. 3
The ‘Auto’ function must be selected in order to
operate the 4-Way Hand Control. When selected,
the Airo will work automatically when the hand
control buttons are pressed.
• To switch on, press and hold the ‘Power’ button
(A) until the light (B) comes on. The light will
stay on while the ‘Auto’ function is selected.
• Press the ‘Power’ button to cancel the ‘Auto’
function.
When in ‘Auto’ mode, the internal microprocessor
carries out a battery voltage check each time air is
required and if the voltage becomes too low, the
‘Auto’ function will be cancelled automatically.
Positioning the patient on the CAMEL - g. 4
• Position the CAMEL at the side of the patient so
that the patient’s head is level with the CAMEL
badge (A). Note: Place a blanket, groundsheet,
towel or similar under the CAMEL if using it on
a rough surface.
• Transfer the patient onto the CAMEL. The head
should lie on the CAMEL badge (A) and the
body should lie centrally.
Using the CAMEL
The following instructions apply equally when the
CAMEL is being operated by a person raising
themselves without assistance, or by an assistant
raising a patient.
WARNING: If a slide sheet has been used to
transfer the patient onto the CAMEL it must
be removed from under the patient before
commencing a lift.
• Press the number 1 button on the hand control
to partially inate the backrest section until the
patient is in a comfortable position - g. 5
• Press the number 2 button to inate the bottom
section until it becomes rigid - g. 6

• Continue to press buttons 3 and 4 in sequence
until the sections become rigid, in exactly the
same manner - g. 7
• Press button 1 to fully raise the backrest and
arrive at a sitting position - g. 8
• Whether assisted or used alone, the patient
should now be in a position to stand or transfer
- g. 9
WARNING: In order to maintain stability, sections
must always be fully inated from the bottom up,
in sequence.
Note: only the backrest (section 1) may be partially
inated before the lower sections.

After Use
• To deate, disconnect each of the air hoses
from the CAMEL. NOTE: The initial ‘rush’ of
air as the hoses are disconnected from the
CAMEL, can be reduced by rst disconnecting
the air hose from the Airo and then pressing
each of the buttons on the hand control.
• Roll up the CAMEL with the hand control in the
hollow (A) - g. 10 secure the straps and place
in the carrying bag - g. 11
Maintenance
Other than routine cleaning, the CAMEL is
maintenance free. The backrest section or the
main lifting section can be replaced separately if
required.
We recommend that a thorough examination of the
CAMEL is carried out regularly; the frequency of
examination may need to be increased depending
on usage and operating environment.
If required, Mangar International can provide the
above inspection within an annual service contract.

Routine Cleaning
Inate the CAMEL, sponge clean with a detergent
solution and dry thoroughly before storing in a dry
place. Do not dry using hot air.
Disinfecting
Inate the CAMEL, pre-clean with a detergent
solution and then sponge with a disinfecting
solution or alcohol impregnated wipe. Allow to air
dry before storage. Do not dry using hot air.

The guarantee is given against defects in material and workmanship and comprises piece, parts and
labour. The guarantee is not valid in the case of fair wear and tear, wilful damage, common neglect,
misuse or unauthorised alteration or repair by unqualied persons.
The following statements do not affect the consumer’s statutory rights. This product is sold on the
understanding that in the event of any defect of manufacture or material appearing within the warranty
period, the defect will be rectied free of charge providing that:
(a) Reasonable evidence is provided (e.g. purchase invoice, delivery note) that the claim is being made
within the warranty period.
(b) The defect is not attributable to accidental damage (either in transit or otherwise), misuse or
unauthorised repair.

Verbindung der Aufstehhilfe Maxi mit dem

• Nehmen Sie die Aufstehhilfe aus der
Tragetasche, lösen Sie die Haltebänder und
entrollen Sie es.
• Verbinden Sie die vier Schläuche (A) der
Handbedienung mit den entsprechenden
farblich markierten und numerierten
Verbindungsstücken der CAMEL.
• Verbinden Sie den Schlauch (B) der
Handbedienung mit dem Airo-Kompressor.
• Stellen Sie den Airo-Kompressor seitlich
neben die CAMEL und achten Sie darauf, dass
der Kompressor während des Hebevorgangs
nicht im Weg ist.

Auto-Funktion des Airo-Kompressors – Abb. 3
Die Auto-Funktion des Airo-Kompressors muss
eingeschaltet sein, damit der Airo-Kompressor über
die CAMEL Handbedienung gesteuert werden kann.
• Schalten Sie ein, indem Sie die Netzschalter
(A) gedrückt halten, bis das Lämpchen (B)
aueuchtet. Das Lämpchen bleibt an, solange
die ’Auto’-Funktion eingestellt ist.
• Drücken Sie die Taste ‘Auto’ um ‘Auto’ Funktion
abzubrechen.
Im ‘Auto’- Modus führt der interne Mikroprozessor
immer dann, wenn Druckluftzufuhr benötigt wird,
eine Spannungsprüfung des Akkus durch. Ist die
Spannung zu niedrig, stellt sich die ‘Auto’-Funktion
automatisch ab.
Transfer der gefallen Person auf die CAMEL –
Abb. 4
• Legen Sie dann die CAMEL dicht neben die
gefallen Person. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Kopf
auf gleicher Höhe mit dem CAMEL - Schild (A)
ist. Anmerkung: Legen Sie eine Decke, eine
Unterlegplane, ein Handtuch oder ähnliches
unter das CAMEL, falls es auf einer unebenen
Oberäche verwendet wird.
• Rollen Sie die gefallene Person nach hinten
auf das CAMEL. Der Kopf sollte nun auf dem
CAMEL-Schild (A) liegen und der Körper mittig
auf dem Kissen.
Hebevorgang
Die folgenden Angaben gelten gleichermaßen für
die eigenständige Nutzung oder die Nutzung durch
einen Helfer.
ACHTUNG: Sollten Sie beim Transfer der
gefallenen Person auf die CAMEL ein Gleittuch
verwendet haben, müssen Sie dieses entfernen,
bevor Sie den Hebevorgang beginnen.
• Drücken Sie Knopf 1 auf der CAMEL
Handbedienung und blasen Sie die Rückenlehne
teilweise auf bis der Patient in einer komfortablen
Position ist Abb. 5
• Drücken Sie Knopf 2 auf der Handbedienung
um die untere Sektion der Aufstehhilfe Maxi
aufzublasen, bis diese hart und stabil wird -

• Verfahren Sie in gleicher Weise mit Sektion 3
und 4 bis die Aufstehhilfe Maxi die maximale
Sitzhöhe erreicht hat - Abb. 7
• Drücken Sie die Taste 1 bis die Rückenlehne
vollständig aufgeblasen ist. 8
• Egal ob die CAMEL eigenständig oder mit
einem Helfer benutzt wurde, sollte es nun leicht
fallen, den Patienten in eine stehende Position
zu bringen - Abb. 9 - oder auf einen Stuhl zu
transferieren.
Achtung: Um die Stabilität des Hebevorganges
zu gewährleisten, müssen alle Sektionen
vollständig und nacheinander von unten nach
oben aufgeblasen werden.
Anmerkung: Nur die Rückenlehne (Sektion 1) kann
vor den Bodensektionen teilweise oder vollständig
aufgeblasen werden.

Nach dem Gebrauch
• Um die Luft aus der CAMEL abzulassen,
trennen Sie die vier Zuleitungsschläuche von
der CAMEL.
• Drehen Sie das unaufgeblasene Kissen um und
legen Sie die Handbedienung in den Freiraum
- Abb. 10 in der Mitte. Rollen Sie dann die
CAMEL auf und xieren Sie sie mit den 2
Haltebändern. Stecken Sie nun die CAMEL in
die Tragetasche Abb. 11
Wartung
Abgesehen von Routinereinigungen ist die
CAMEL wartungsfrei. Falls erforderlich können
die Rückenlehne oder die Hebesektion einzeln
ausgetauscht werden.
Wir empfehlen die CAMEL regelmäßig und
gewissenhaft zu überprüfen. Die Häugkeit hängt
von der Nutzungsintensität ab.
Reinigung
Blasen Sie die CAMEL ganz auf und reinigen
Sie sie mit einem Schwamm und einer
Reinigungsmittellösung. Trocknen Sie das Kissen
anschließend und bewahren Sie es an einem
trockenem Ort auf. Verwenden Sie keine Heißluft
um die CAMEL zu trocknen.
Desinfektion
Blasen Sie die CAMEL ganz auf und reinigen
Sie sie mit einem Schwamm und einer
Reinigungmittellösung. Desinzieren Sie die CAMEL
anschließend mit einem Desinfektionsmittel oder
einem mit Alkohol getränkten Tuch. Verwenden Sie
keine Heißluft um die CAMEL zu trocknen.

Le CAMEL de Mangar est un dispositif de relevage
gonable, conçu pour relever en position assise
ou debout une personne tombée au sol. Lorsque
le CAMEL est goné, il permet de relever un
patient en position assise ou debout avec ou sans
assistance.
Vous pouvez utiliser cet équipement avec ou sans
assistant, le cas échéant.
Le CAMEL est alimenté par un compresseur
Mangar Airo et commandé par une commande
à main à quatre voies. Veuillez consulter les
instructions séparées du compresseur Airo avant
toute utilisation.

AVERTISSEMENTS
• Cet équipement DOIT uniquement être utilisé
par des personnes qui savent l’utiliser.
• L’état de santé de la personne à relever doit être
évaluée avant de commencer à la relevée.
• Assurez-vous que la surface sur laquelle le

Contenu de l’ensemble standard - g. 1

Connexion de la commande à main et de l’Airo -

• Retirez le CAMEL du sac de transport, détachez
les sangles et déroulez–le.
• Branchez les quatre tuyaux de la commande
à main aux connecteurs numérotés et aux
couleurs correspondantes sur le CAMEL (A).
• Branchez le tuyau (B) de la commande à main
sur le compresseur Airo.
• Positionnez le compresseur Airo pour qu’il
n’ocassionne pas de gêne, lorsque vous
installez un patient sur le CAMEL. Assurez-
vous que les tuyaux ne sont pas pincés.

Vous devez sélectionner la fonction “ Auto ” pour
pouvoir utiliser la commande à main à 4 voies.
L’Airo fonctionne alors automatiquement, lorsque
vous appuyez sur les boutons de la commande à
main.
• Pour allumer, maintenir appuyé le bouton
d’alimentation (A) jusqu’à ce que le témoin (B)
s’allume. Le témoin reste allumé pendant la
sélection de la fonction “Auto”.
• Appuyez sur la “Auto” bouton pour annuler
fonction “Auto”.
Lorsqu’il est en mode “Auto”, le microprocesseur
interne effectue une vérication de tension de
batterie à chaque fois qu’il faut de l’air et si la
tension descend trop bas, la fonction “Auto” s’annule
automatiquement.
Installation du patient sur le CAMEL - g. 4
• Positionnez le CAMEL à côté du patient pour
que sa tête se trouve au niveau de l’insigne
CAMEL (A). Remarque: Placer une couverture,
un tapis de sol, une serviette ou assimilé
sous le CAMEL s’il est utilisé sur une surface
rugueuse.
• Transférez le patient sur le CAMEL. La tête doit
reposer sur l’insigne CAMEL (A) et le corps
doit se trouver au milieu.
Utilisation du CAMEL
Les consignes suivantes s’appliquent au même
titre lorsque le CAMEL est utilisé par une personne
qui cherche à se relever sans assistance ou par un
assistant relevant un patient.
ATTENTION : Si vous utilisez un drap de transfert
pour transférer un patient sur le CAMEL, il doit
être retiré avant de commencer à le relever.
• Appuyez sur le bouton numéro 1 de la
commande à main pour goner partiellement
la section du dossier jusqu’à ce que le patient
soit dans une position confortable - g. 5
• Appuyez sur le bouton numéro 2 pour goner
la section inférieure jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit
rigide - g. 6

Après utilisation
• Débranchez chacun des tuyaux pneumatiques
du CAMEL pour le dégoner.
Remarque : Vous pouvez réduire le jet d’air
initial, à mesure que vous débranchez les
tuyaux du CAMEL, en commençant par le tuyau
pneumatique de l’Airo et en appuyant ensuite
sur chacun des boutons de la commande à
main.
• Enroulez le CAMEL en plaçant la commande
à main dans le creux (A) - g. 10 attachez les
sangles et mettez-le dans le sac de transport
- g. 11
Entretien
En dehors d’un nettoyage périodique, le CAMEL
ne nécessite aucun entretien. La section du
dossier ou la section de relevage principale peut
être remplacée séparément, si nécessaire.
Nous vous recommandons de vérier régulièrement
le CAMEL. Vous pouvez augmenter les contrôles
en fonction de l’environnement et de la fréquence
d’utilisation.
Nettoyage périodique
Gonez le CAMEL, nettoyez-le avec une éponge et
une solution de détergent. Séchez-le parfaitement
avant de le ranger dans un endroit sec. Ne le
séchez jamais à l’air chaud.
Désinfection
Gonez le CAMEL, effectuez un prénettoyage avec
une solution de détergent. Utilisez ensuite une
éponge imprégnée d’une solution de désinfectant
ou une lingette imprégnée d’alcool. Laissez sécher
à l’air avant de le ranger. Ne le séchez jamais à l’air
chaud.

WAARSCHUWINGEN
• Deze apparatuur mag alleen gebruikt worden
door mensen die vertrouwd zijn met het gebruik
ervan.
• De medische conditie van iemand die opgelicht
moet worden MOET geëvalueerd worden
alvorens met het oplichten te beginnen.
• Zorg dat er zich geen scherpe voorwerpen
bevinden op het oppervlak waarop de CAMEL
geplaatst wordt. Opmerking: Plaats een deken,
zeildoek, handdoek of iets dergelijks onder de
CAMEL als hij op een ruw oppervlak wordt
gebruikt.
• Als een schuiaken gebruikt is om de patiënt
op de CAMEL te plaatsen moet het van onder
de patiënt verwijderd worden alvorens met het
oplichten te beginnen.
• Secties 2, 3 en 4 MOETEN altijd volledig in de
juiste volgorde opgeblazen zijn van onder af aan
om stabiliteit te handhaven. NB: De ruggesteun
kan gedeeltelijk opgeblazen zijn voordat een
andere sectie omhoog gehaald wordt. Als de
laagste sectie eenmaal opgeblazen is kan de
ruggesteun naar behoefte verder opgeblazen
worden.

De CAMEL van Mangar is een opblaasbaar
henstrument dat ontworpen is om mensen die
gevallen zijn vanaf de grond weer in een zitpositie
te krijgen. Als de CAMEL opgeblazen is kan hij de
patiënt rechtop in een zitpositie krijgen van waaruit
hij/zij met of zonder hulp kan opstaan.
Hij kan naar wens met of zonder helper gebruikt
worden.
De CAMEL wordt aangedreven door een Mangar
Airo Compressor met behulp van een handmatige
controle met 4 instellingen. Gelieve voor het
bedienen de afzonderlijke Airo compressor
instructies te lezen.
