Procedure
1
Remove front panel.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to
loosen the two screws secur-
ing the left and right doors.
Do not remove screws com-
pletely, they are secured to
prevent loss.
30 Inch and 48 Inch Models
have two front panels. To
remove right front door lift up
and remove. The left front
door swings open.
22 inch ice machines have a
single door, lift to remove
entire door.

Turn ice machine off.
After ice has fallen from the
evaporator, turn the
ICE/OFF/CLEAN toggle
switch to the OFF position
(middle position)

Empty ice bin.
Use an ice scoop to remove
all ice from the storage bin or
dispenser. Discard the ice.
If you are cleaning the ice
machine in the production
area, store the ice in the
freezer for use if needed.



Pre-mix DeLimer solution.
Use1 liter of warm water.
Add the correct number of
DeLimer packets to the water.
For models:
S300, S320, S420, Q280,
Q320 & Q420 – 2 packets
S1200, S1400, S1600, S1800,
Q1300, Q1600 & Q1800 –
5 packets
For all other models –
4 packets

Turn switch to clean.
Move the ICE/OFF/CLEAN
toggle switch to the CLEAN
position. The yellow clean
light will turn on to indicate
the machine is in the clean
mode.

Delime evaporator and water
trough.
Wait for approximately 2
minutes until water starts to
flow over the evaporator, then
our the premixed solution
nto the water trough.

Allow clean cycle to run.
The ice machine will auto-
matically run through a wash
cycle and several rinse cycles.
The entire cycle lasts approx-
imately 30 minutes.
The yellow clean light will
turn off when the cycle is
complete.


Turn off and unplug ice
machine.
Do not begin cleaning other
parts of the ice machine until
it is unplugged and turned off.

Remove water curtain.
Gently flex the curtain in the
center and remove it from the
right side. Slide the left pin
out.

Remove the ice thickness
probe.
Compress the hinge pin on
the top of the ice thickness
probe.
Pivot the ice thickness probe
to disengage one pin then the
other. The ice thickness probe
can be cleaned at this point
without complete removal. If
complete removal is desired,
disconnect the ice thickness
control wiring from the con-
trol board.

Remove the water distribution
tube.
Loosen the two outer screws
(do not remove screws com-
pletely, they are retained to
prevent loss). Pull forward on
the distribution tube to release
from slip joint.
Disassemble the distribution
tube by loosening the two (2)
middle thumbscrews and di-
viding the distribution tube
into two pieces. If the two
middle thumbscrews are not
present, pull tube apart.

Remove the water trough.
Depress tabs on right and left
side of the water trough.
Allow front of water trough to
drop as you pull forward to
disengage the rear pins.

Remove the water level probe.
Pull the water level probe
straight down to disengage.
Lower the water level probe
until the wiring connector is
visible.
Disconnect the wire lead from
the water level probe. Re-
move the water level probe
from the ice machine.


Remove the water pump.
Grasp pump and pull straight
down on pump assembly until
it disengages and the electric-
al connector is visible.
Disconnect the electrical con-
nector. Remove the water
pump assembly from ice ma-
chine.

Remove the evaporator tray
from the bottom of the
evaporator.
Loosen thumbscrew on left
side of tray. Allow left side
of tray to drop as you pull the
tray to the left side. Continue
until the right side disengag-
es.

DeLime plastic parts.
Mix 4 packets of McD DeLi-
mer with 4 gallons (15 liters)
of warm water in a three-
compartment sink.
Place the plastic parts in the
solution and allow to soak for
10-15 minutes.
Do not soak the water pump
motor in DeLimer solution.

Delime surface areas of ice
machine.
Use a clean towel soaked in
delimer solution to wipe ice
machine surfaces, including
the sides walls, base (area
above water trough), and the
bin or dispenser.

Rinse and sanitize plastic
parts.
Mix 2 packets of Sanitizer
with 5 gallons (19 liters) of
warm water in a three-
compartment sink.
Remove plastic parts from
delimer solution & rinse in
clear water. Place the plastic
parts in the sanitizer solution
and allow to soak for 10-15
minutes.
Do not soak the water pump
motor in sanitizer solution.


Sanitize surface areas of ice
machine.
Use a clean sanitizer-soaked
towel to sanitize ice machine
surfaces, including the side
walls, base (area above water
trough), and the bin or dis-
penser.

Reinstall plastic evaporator
parts.
Return the parts to the ice
machine and reassemble.
(Perform Steps 15 to 9 in re-
verse order).

Plug ice machine in.

For all other models –
2 packets

Move ICE/OFF/CLEAN toggle
switch to the CLEAN position.
The clean light will turn on to
indicate the machine is in the
clean mode

Sanitize evaporator and water
trough.
Wait for approximately 2
minutes until water starts to
flow over the evaporator, then
pour the pre-mixed solution
into the water trough.

Move ICE/OFF/CLEAN toggle
switch to the ICE position.
The ice machine will auto-
matically run through a wash
cycle and several rinse cycles.
The entire cycle lasts approx-
imately 30 minutes. Ice
making will resume automati-
cally when the sanitize cycle
is complete.

Reinstall front panels and
tighten screws.

Make and discard three loads
of ice.
Discard the first three loads of
ice made.

