User’s Manual is provided just to guide the user about the functionality of the CarPad.
This does not seem to be any certificate of technology. Some functions may vary due to
modifications and up-gradations of software or due to printing mistake.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Please read the following safety guidelines before using the CarPad.
•Do not use the CarPad while you are driving.
•Do not place magnetic storage media near your CarPad. Radiation from the CarPad may
erase the information stored on them.
•Keep your CarPad and its accessories away from children.
•Mobile devices can interfere with the functioning of medical devices such as hearing aids
or pacemakers. Keep at least 20 cm (9 inches) distance between the CarPad and
pacemaker.
•Permanent hearing loss may occur if you use earphones or headphones at high volume.
Notice:
•Do not dismantle the device or accessories otherwise, manufacturer is not liable to pay for
damages as the device and accessories are not covered by warranty.
•Use only original batteries and charging devices.
•Please back up your important data timely and keep them properly. The company is not
liable for any failure to call or loss of data due to mis-operation, poor signal or power cut,
etc.
•All the screens in this manual are for reference only, and some contents actually
displayed may depend upon the presetting of the service provider or the network operator,
or the SIM card. If any functions referred to in this manual are different from those of your
CarPad, please follow your CarPad.
•Improper use will invalidate the guarantee! These safety instructions also apply to original
accessories.
•Do not put your CarPad in a high-temperature place or use it in a place with flammable
gas such as a petrol pumps. Do not use the CarPad in an environment of extremely high
or low temperature, or an environment of high humidity. The temperature recommended
for using the CarPad is 5-35℃.
•Do not touch the charger, power cable or socket with wet hands. This may cause an
electric shock.
•If you have difficulties installing the battery, do not force the installation. This may cause
battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire.
If your CarPad or any of its accessories do not function normally, then please visit your
nearest authorized service facility. The qualified personnel will assist you, and if necessary,
will arrange for the service.

Congratulations on purchasing the MapmyIndia CarPad. Quick Start Guide will help you go through
the basic features of your device.
1. CARPAD OVERVIEW
MapmyIndia CarPad is based on the Android operating system and supports
3G,WCDMA, and Wi-Fi network.
1.1 Top View
a) Long press the Power Key to switch on/off the CarPad.
b) When the CarPad is in switched on status, press the Power Key to turn the display on.
1.2 Left & Right View

a) Volume Keys: Press upwards or downwards to increase or decrease the ringer volume.
b) Headset Jack: Use a headset for hands-free conversation or listening to music.
c) USB Connector: Connect USB cable to PC as a modem /USB mass storage. Connect
USB cable and the AC adapter to charge the battery.
1.3 Bottom View
a) SIM/SD Card Slot: Insert the SIM and SD Card safely into the slots.
1.4 Front View
a) Home Key: Press the Home Key to return to the home screen.
b) Menu Key: At any interface, press it to open menu option.
c) Back Key: Press to go back.

2. GETTING STARTED
Installing Memory Card and SIM Card
a) Open the slot cover.
b) Insert the SIM/SD Card into the slot, with the gold contacts facing down.
Charging the Battery
a) Connect one end of the AC adapter to USB connector of the device.
b) Plug the other end of the AC adapter to the wall outlet to start charging.
Turning On/Off
After installing the SIM card and charging the battery, you are now ready to turn on your CarPad.
a) Long press and hold the Power Key to turn on the CarPad.
a) It takes some time to enter the main screen.
b) The first screen that appears is known as the Home Screen.
c) Drag the lock icon upwards to unlock the screen.
d) If the screen turns off, then press the Power Key to turn on the display.
To turn off your CarPad
a) Press and hold the Power Key for 5 seconds.
b) A pop-up window appears, select Power off.
c) Select OK to confirm.

3. HOME SCREEN
From Home screen, you can quickly access common features, view notifications of missed calls,
received messages and check connection status.
3.1 STATUS BAR
The Status bar icons indicate different types of information. Tap the status bar and scroll down to
view notifications or view system information easily.

3.2 APPLICATION TAB
Tap Application Drawer to access applications and settings of the device. The Application tab
enables you to access the Main Menu and select among the various utilities/features available in the
device.
3.3 CUSTOMIZING SCREEN
The CarPad features a touch screen with idle displays and access to utilities at just one-touch. So
swipe right or left to navigate through various screens accessing your favorite features without
entering the main menu. Each screen can be customized by adding the various widgets, shortcuts
and folders.
Tap the Menu Key and select Add. You can select to add Shortcuts, Widgets or Folders are
per your usage.
Shortcuts
In order to add a shortcut on the screen:
a. Tap Menu > Add >Shortcuts.
b. A list of applications is displayed.
c. Tap the desired application to add on the screen.
Widgets
Save time with live updates right on Home screen and get all of your personalized updates atone
place. You may add and customize the Widgetson Home screen by:
a. From Home Screen, tap Menu > Add > Widgets.
b. A list of all available widgets is displayed. Tap to select the widget you want to display
on Home screen.
Folders

You can also add your most commonly used folders on the screen.
a. From Home Screen, tap Menu > Add >Folders.
b. A list of all available folders is displayed. Tap to select the folder you want to display
on Home screen.
Setting the wallpaper
You can customize the wallpaper of your Home screen with default wallpaper or with pictures taken
from your CarPad.
Setting the wallpaper:
a) In the idle mode, tap Menu Key
b) Select your desired wallpaper from the various options:
•Gallery
•Live Wallpapers
•Wallpapers
3.4 MAKING YOUR FIRST CALL
a) On the Home Screen, tap Dialer.
OR
a) Access the Main Menu by tapping on Application Key.

b) After entering the Main Menu, select Phone.
To make a voice call
a) Tap phone number on keypad.
b) Tap to erase a wrong number. Tap and hold to erase entire number.
c) After entering phone number, tap .
d) To end the call, tap .
3.5 CONTACTS
To add a Contact
a) Enter the Main Menu select Phone and select Contacts.
b) Tap Menu > New contact.
c) Enter contact information such as name, phone number, email address etc. Tap Done to
save the contact or tap Revert to exit without saving any change.
To import contacts
a) Enter the Main Menu select Phone and select Contacts.
b) Tap Menu > Import/Export.
c) Select to import contacts from SIM Card/ SD Card.
d) Select a particular contact to import or tap Menu to select Import all.
3.6 SENDING A MESSAGE
Your device features, sending and receiving of SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia
Message Service). In the standby mode, Tap Application Tab to access the Main Menu and then
select Messages.
a) On Home screen, tap Messages.
b) Tap New message.
c) In To field, enter the recipient’s phone number.
d) Type message in the Type to compose field.
e) Tap Send.

4. SETTING
Configure the phone settings, wireless settings and call settings of your CarPad by accessing the
Settings Menu.
4.1 SETTING DATE & TIME
a) Tap Application Tab to enter the Main Menu > select Settings
OR
Tap Menu Key > select Settings
b) Select Date & Time
c) Select Automatic, to enable the automatic date and time of the device
d) You can also set the date and time manually
4.2 CLOCK
a) Tap Application Tab to enter the Main Menu
b) Select Clock
c) Select from the various options available, such as Alarm
d) Tap Menu key to view/add alarm and change/view the Dock Settings.
4.3 LANGUAGE AND REGION
The default language of the device is English. Tap Application Tab to enter the Main Menu. You can
change the language, by accessing Settings > Language & Keyboard.
4.4 SETTING RINGTONE
a. On Home screen, Tap >Menu Key >Settings > Sound
b. Select Ringtones to select the desired tone from the list.
c. Tap OK to confirm.
d. Tap volume to set the Ringtone/Media and Alarm volume.

5. MULTIMEDIA
Your device features various multimedia options, such as Music Player, Camera and Video Player.
5.1 MUSIC PLAYER
Use the Music player to play music files or recorded voice files. The songs saved in your SD Card
can be played using the Music Player of the device.
a) Tap Application Tab to enter Main Menu
b) Select Music
The songs are categorized by Artist, Albums and Songs. You can make your favorite playlist by long
pressing on a song and selecting Add to Playlist. You can add the song to the current playlist or can
choose a new playlist.
Select to open playlist.
Turn on/off shuffle.
Repeat all/current song
5.2 CAMERA
The CarPad is equipped with 2 megapixel camera, which enables you to capture camera photos
and videos. Access the main menu and select Camera to capture images.

In the camera mode:
Drag to switch between camera and camcorder.
Press the icon to take a picture / record video.

After capturing an image:
Press / to scan others picture.
Press / to zoom in or out of a picture.
Press “DELETE” to delete picture.
Press “SHARE” to send the picture by email.
5.3 VIDEO PLAYER
You can view/play your videos stored on your SD Card through the Video Player.
Tap Application Tab > Main Menu > Video Player to play the videos on the memory card.

6. NETWORK
6.1 WI-FI
Connect to a wireless network to browse Internet.
a) On Home screen, tap > Settings.
b) Tap Wireless & networks.
c) Tap Wi-Fi to activate.
d) Tap Wi-Fi settings > Network notification to start detecting networks. The available
networks will then be listed.
e) Tap Add Wi-Fi network to add a connection.
Note:
•If the device before the connection is successful, the equipment information will be saved
in the pop-up window selected connection, select forget to remove device information.
•If the device does not encrypt selected connection in the pop-up window to connect.
•If the device is encrypted, the pop-up window, enter the password, the connection point of
connection.
•Network connection is successful; the status bar icon appears Wi-Fi connection.
6.2 3G
The device supports WCDMA protocol. Please make sure that you CarPad is turned off when you
insert or remove the SIM card.
a) Power off; Insert USIM or SIM card
b) Power on
c) Open setting, select Wireless &Networks
d) Select mobile network ,enter access point names interface
e) Touch menu button, select New APN;
f) Set as below:
•Name: (any name you like);
•APN:(put your apn details)
•Touch menu button, select save;
•Go back to access point names interface, confirm the new APN selected.
•When connected to 3g network, a G icon will appear on the status bar.
6.3 BLUETOOTH
a) Access Settings by entering the main menu
b) Select wireless & network setting
c) Touch Bluetooth to turn on Bluetooth
d) Touch and enter WIFI settings
e) Select to connect Bluetooth device

7. APPLICATIONS
7.1APKINSTALLER
a) Please save the third-party software files(.apk) in the SD card.
b) Install SD card into the CarPad after booting it.
c) Open ApkInstaller.
d) Press menu key, and select install.
e) From the software list, select the software which you need to install.
f) Press install. OR
a) Open the applications list, and press the file browser.
b) Select the software files(.apk)
c) Press the software which you need to install, and press install.
7.2 EMAIL
Your device allows you to compose, read and send emails. You can send and receive e-mailvia Wi-
Fi or 3G network.
Setting up an Email Account
a) On Home screen, Tap > Application Tab > from main menu select Email.
b) Select your email account provider.
c) Enter your Email address and Password.
d) Tap Next. The device will automatically retrieve email settings.
e) Enter Name and Account display name.
f) Tap Done.

7.3 BROWSER
Browser is a tool to access the Internet.
To open a web page
a) On Home screen, tap > Browser.
b) Tap the address bar.
c) Type the URL then tap and select Go
d) Tap Menu to access more functions.
To scroll the page
a) Use finger gestures to scroll up or down, swipe your finger down or up.
b) To scroll left or right, tap and swipe your finger to the right or left.
To set the Home page
a) While viewing a web page, tap Menu >More > Settings > Set home page.
b) Enter the URL of the page that you want to set as home page.
c) Select OK to save your settings.

8.PROTECTING YOUR CARPAD
You can protect your CarPad from unauthorized users by setting the PIN code or entering password
.
Enable or Disable SIM card PIN
When PIN code is enabled, you are required to enter the PIN code before making a call.
a) Go to Application Drawer > Settings > Location &Security.
b) On the SIM card lock tab, select Set up SIM card lock.
c) Tap Lock SIM card to use PIN to use the phone. Check to enable, uncheck to disable.
d) Enter the current PIN code.
e) To change the PIN code, select Change PIN.
f) Enter the old PIN code.
g) Enter the new PIN code and confirm.
Setup Screen Lock
You can set up a lock for your screen in form of Pattern, PIN code or password.
a) Go to Settings > Location & Security
b) Set up screen lock
c) Select a desired form (Pattern, PIN code or password)
