INTRODUZIONE
Grazie per avere scelto una macchina
MARANI, leggete attentamente le istruzio-
ni riportate in questo manuale in modo da
familiarizzare con la macchina, prima di
cominciare il montaggio e l’utilizzo si rac-
comanda all’operatore di non effettuare o-
perazioni azzardate e di usare in ogni occa-
sione la prudenza necessaria.
A T T E N Z I O N E
Non cominciare a lavorare con la macchi-
na senza prima aver consultato bene il ma-
nuale. NON FATE lavorare la macchina in
presenza di bambini o estranei accertatevi
che in nessun caso i bambini possano acce-
dere alla macchina o usarla
Prestare attenzione prima di scollega-
re la manichetta
Quando la macchina è equipaggiata di val-
vola di chiusura, a fine lavoro la manichetta
rimane in pressione non scollegatela prima
di avere tolto la pressione.
Fate attenzione all’irrigatore.
Dall’irrigatore viene spruzzare acqua in
pressione, può causare gravi danni alle pre-
sone e alle cose.
Prestare attenzione durante il
trasporto
La vostra macchina per irrigazione non può
circolare su strada pubblica.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for buying an MARANI trav-
eler. Please read this manual carefully
before assembling and operating to get fa-
miliar with its many functions. Your safety
is out first priority and failure to follow
these instructions may cause serious in-
jury or death. MARANI is not responsible
for machine failure if these procedures and
operation instructions are not followed.
C A U T I O N
Do not operate your MARANI traveler
without a serious overview of this manual
Keep children and unauthorized people
away from the traveler.
Never allow children access to use the trav-
eler..
Use caution when disconnecting.

When the traveler is equipped with shut off
valve, the supply hose remains pressurized
at the end of the run. FIRST, relieve the
pressure, then disconnect the supply hose.

Pressurized water from the sprinkler may
cause serious damage to people and things.

Travelers are not made for public transit.
Do not exceed 7 mph (10 km/h) on flat

of the machine, use lift winches and equip-
ment with dimensions proportioned to the
weight of the body to be lifted (see tables).
The unloading operations must be carried out
by qualified persons.

.2 TRASPORTO, CONSEGNA E MON-
TAGGIO DELLA MACCHINA
Per motivi di ingombro in fase di traspor-
to la macchina può essere inviata con al-
cune parti smontate come le ruote o il tu-
bo di entrata acqua. Il costruttore o chi per
esso provvede al fissaggio della macchina
con mezzi idonei rapportati alle masse
caricate (vedi pag.9). Per lo scarico ed il
montaggio bisogna agganciare la macchi-
na nei punti raffigurati alla fig.1.
Le
istruzioni che seguono si riferiscono alla
macchina con diversi parti smontate. Se-
guire le indicazioni relative.
Controlli da effettuare in fase di
mon-taggio:
1) Montare i mozzi porta ruota e avvitare
le viti di fissaggio (fig.2) serrando for-
te.
2) Controllare il serraggio dei bulloni delle ruote
periodicamente (fig.2);

1.2 TRANSPORT, DELIVERY AND AS-
SEMBLY OF THE MACHINE
Due to freight height and space limitations,
some assembly may be required with your
newly purchased micro traveler. Be sure to
follow proper procedures when unloading
and assembling the machine to avoid any
danger or injury. Hooks are provided on the
machine (see fig. 1) to enable you to pick up
the machine for unloading, assembly or re-
pair..
There are many available options and
components, many of which may
have already been assembled. This
manual will go through all the assem-
bly and operation instructions – if
your machine is already assembled,
then you may skip to “Checking ma-
chine before start-up”

STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED DUR-
ING ASSEMBLY:
1) Mount the wheel hubs onto the machine
securing the lug nuts tightly (fig.2).
2) Assemble the Rain Gun trolley (fig2)

Montaggio del carrello porta irrigatore
1) Montare il carrello porta irrigatore al tu-
bo. (Fig. 3)
2) Avvitare l’irrigatore sul carrello.
ATTENZIONE: per motivi di sicurez-
za é consentito il solo uso degli irrigatori a
ritorno lento con velocità di rotazione non
superiore a 1 RAD S -1.
Assemblaggio del carrello alla mac-

1) Sollevare il carrello tramite apposito verri-
cello (Fig. 4)

1) Mount the sprinkler gun onto the gun-
cart (Fig. 3)
2) Lift up the trolley using the winch.
ATTENTION: Use only slow rota-
tion sprinkler guns with a rotation speed not
grater than 1 RAD S-1..

2.0 PREPARAZIONE DELLA

1) Controllare il livello dell’olio del ridut-
tore. Se é necessario mettere a livello
con olio Sae 90 .
2) Ingrassare la macchina in ogni sua parte
fig.1.Successivamente si raccomanda di
ingrassare le parti ogni 100 ore di lavoro.
3) Controllare la pressione delle ruote. Gon-
fiare fino a 3 bar.
2.0 CHECKING MACHINE BE-

1) Check the oil level of the gearbox and
if necessary add SAE 90
2) Grease the machine thoroughly (all
grease fittings) and thereafter grease
every 100 hours. see fig.1.
3) Check the tire pressure and if necessary
add up to 42 psi (3 bar).

1)Trainare la macchina fino alla postazione di
lavoro (velocità max. 10 km/h).
2) Orientare la bobina verso l’area da irrigare
avendo cura di dirigerla il più linearmente
possibile alla direzione di srotolamento del
tubo.
3) Abbassare i piedi di ancoraggio (fig 0).
4) Abbassare il carrello con l’apposita mani-
glia. (fig 1)
5) Collegare la conduttura dell’acqua alla mac-
china con la manichetta in gomma.

2.1 START-UP PROCEDURE
1)Tow the machine to the working site
maximum speed is 6 MPH (10 km/h)
WARINING!! Before towing ma-
chine, be sure no one is standing be-
hind or around the machine.
2) Face the gun cart sled of the reel to-
wards the area needing to be irrigated.
The machine directions should be as
straight as possible (fig 0) .
3) Lower the stabilizer legs. (fig 0).
4) Lower the trolley (fig 1).
5) Connect the water supply hose to the
water source /hydrant (fig 2).

N.B. Prima di effettuare tale operazione
si consiglia di spurgare la conduttura
onde evitare eventuali intasamenti della
turbina causati da corpi estranei.
6) Mettere il cricchetto (fig.3) in posizio-
ne di non-lavoro 0. Per agevolare que-
sta operazione ruotare leggermente la
bobina in senso orario , con la apposi-
ta manovella .
Note: Before connecting the supply hose to the
machine, check to be sure there is no foreign
matter inside which will block the turbine.
6) Set the backstop (fig.3) in the idle position 0.
To facilitate the operation connect the wind-
ing handle to the P.T.O power takeoff of the
gearbox and rotate the reel clockwise.
ATTENZIONE, terminata l’o-
perazione togliere la manovella e ripor-
la nell’apposito alloggiamento.
When you have completed this opera-
tion, take off the handle and put it in its hous-
ing-

7) Assicurarsi che la leva nr.1 (fig.4) sia in po-
sizione di folle 0. Per compiere questa opera-
zione, spingere manualmente verso sinistra la
leva
7) Important! Make sure the gearbox lever
no. 1 (fig.4) is in the idle position - 0.

Quando avete srotolato il tubo verifica-
te che le spire rimaste in bobina siano
sistemate correttamente se necessario
sistematele spingendole a mano.
Attenzione pericolo squesta o-
perazione eseguitela a macchina ferma!
When you have pulled out the hose make sure
that the wraps remaining on the reel are close
together if necessary push them in place by
hand.

8) Srotolare il tubo a velocità costante (1,5
km/h) avendo cura di rallentare in pros-
simità del punto di arrivo.
N.B. Lasciare sempre almeno una spira di tubo
sulla bobina.
9) Alla prima messa in funzione é necessa-
rio che il tubo venga srotolato completa-
mente lasciando solo 1 o 2 spire sulla
bobina. Questo serve per controllare la
corretta regolazione della forcella guida-
tubo.

10) Controllare che il freno sia registrato
correttamente se necessario regolarlo tra-
mite apposita vite (fig.6).
8) Pull the gun cart out at a consistent speed
– approx. 0,9 mph (1,5 k/h) and slow
down whemn approaching the stop posi-
tion.
Note : Always leave at least one wrap of
hose on the reel.
9) The first time using the machine it s
very important to pull out all but 1 or 2
wraps of hose in order to check the
level wind setting. If it needs adjusting,
contact your MARANI dealer for in-
structions. (fig.5)
10) Make sure that the brake is adjust it op-
erating on the screw. (fig.6)

2.2 RIENTRO AUTOMATICO DEL TUBO
1) Inserire il cricchetto (fig.7) nella
posizione di lavoro.
2) Pressurizzare la macchina gradualmente
fino a portarla alla pressione di lavoro .
3) Inserire la marcia del riduttore usando la
leva nr.1 (fig. 8), per fare partire la mac-
chi-na. ATTENZIONE: La marcia si inse-
risce solo con turbina in movimento non
forzare la leva si danneggia il riduttore!!!
La regolazione della velocità viene fatta
tramite il programma del computer.(fig. 9)
2.2 AUTOMATIC HOSE REWIND
1) Release the backstop (fig.7) into the
operating position.
2) Increase the machine water pressure
until it reaches the operating pressure.
3) Select the gear with the no.1 handle on
the gearbox (fig.8), to put the reel into
rewind motion. ATTENTION: Select
the gear only when the turbine is run-
ning. Do not force into gear or you
will damage the gearbox!!

2..3 USO DELLA MACCHINA CON
COMPUTER
In questo caso la regolazione del by pass
è automatica. Per l’uso del computer con-
sultare il relativo manuale di istruzioni.
2.4 AVVOLGIMENTO RAPIDO DEL
TUBO
La presa di forza a cardano PTO posta sul
riduttore serve ad avvolgere il tubo velo-
cemente tramite trattore nel caso di im-
previsti come pioggia.
1) Verificare che la leva del riduttore sia
in posizione di folle 0 altrimenti si ar-
recano gravi danni al riduttore.
2) Collegare il cardano del trattore alla
presa di forza del riduttore.
3) Azionare la presa di forza ottenendo
così il riavvolgimento del tubo.
2..3 USE OF THE MACHINE EQUIPPED
WITH COMPUTER SYSTEM
If the machine is equipped with a computer the
by-pass adjusting is automatic. For this infor-
mation, see the Golden Rain use and mainte-
nance manual.
2.4 QUICK HOSE REWIND
The purpose of the P.T.O. shaft on the gearbox
is to rewind the hose quickly by using the trac-
tor. If for any reason you need to wind the
hose up quickly then follow these steps:
1) WARNING Make sure the handle on the
gearbox is in the idle position – 0; other-
wise severe damage will occur to the gear-
box.
2) Connect the tractor P.T.O. drive line to the
gearbox shaft on the micro rain Warning
READ drive-line directions for proper
use of the PTO drive-line neither MA-
RANI nor MARANI dealers are respon-
sible for improper use of the
drive line which can result in injury or
death.
3) Activate the tractor power take off and
the reel will begin to wind up
4) Se la macchina è equipaggiata di valvola di
chiusura o di scarico, verificare che con-
temporaneamente al disinnesto auto-matico
di fine corsa venga azionato anche il rubi-
netto a tre vie o la leva di comando della
valvola di chiusura, il quale a sua volta de-
ve comandare la valvola di chiusura o di
scarico. Se necessario registrare la corsa
della leva di comando del rubinetto. (fig.4).
4) If your machine has a shut-off valve
or a discharge valve, when the gun is
pulled in check that both the automatic
disengaging system and the 3-way valve
or the bar that control the shut off valve,
which opens and closes the valve are
activated. If necessary, adjust the valve
as senn in the (fig 4).

L’uso del cardano non permette l’ar-
resto automatico di fine corsa, bisogna quin-
di effettuarlo manualmente fermando la pre-
sa di forza prima della fine dell’avvolgimento
del tubo. Gli ultimi 2-3 metri di tubo riavvol-
gerli utilizzando il volantino.
ATTENZIONE: nel caso in cui il tu-
bo fosse completamente srotolato per evitare
un’eccessiva ovalizzazione consigliamo di
mettere in pressione la macchina come per
una normale irrigazione.
2.5 USO NOTTURNO DELLA MACCHI-
NA
Essendo la macchina sprovvista di sorgente
autonoma di energia elettrica talora si voglia
usarla in condizioni di illuminazione insuffi-
ciente, bisogna provvedere ad il-luminarla
adeguatamente.
3.0 MANUTENZIONE
1) Ingrassare tutti gli ingrassatori ogni 100
ore;
2) ingrassare i mozzi delle ruote del carrello
ogni 100 ore;
3) cambiare l’olio del riduttore ogni stagione
irrigua;
4) verificare periodicamente la pressione dei
pneumatici; (2,5 bar macchina 1,4 carrel-
lo)
4.0 IMMAGAZZINAGGIO A FINE
STAGIONE
1) Si consiglia di vuotare parzialmente l’ac-
qua dal tubo PE, srotolando metà tubo co-
me per una normale irrigazione, togliere il
tappo del carrello e riavvolgere con la pre-
sa di forza PTO (vedi punto 2.4).
2) Togliere il tappo sotto la turbina (fig. 26) e
i tappi dell’ingresso acqua
Important - When using the
P.T.O. shaft, there is no automatic stop at
the end of the run. The PTO must there-
fore be stopped before the hose is com-
pletely wound up to avoid damage to the
gun cart or end of the hose. It is recom-
mended the final wrap or two to be wound
up with the PTO handle
ATTENTION: to avoid irregular
rewinding of the hose when using a PTO,
it may be necessary to wind the hose up
under water pressure to avoid excessive
ovaling of the hose. .
2.5 USE OF THE MACHINE AT NIGHT
Use every precaution to avoid injury
when using the machine at night. Use a
flash light or other light source to assure
machine is properly positioned and placed
in operation.
3.0 MAINTENANCE
1) Grease all grease fitting every 100
hours of work.;
2) Grease all wheel hubs on the gun cart

STORAGE PREPARATION
1) It is recommended to drain partially the
water hose. To carry out this operation
the hose should be laid down as for a
normal irrigation run. Remove the end
cap from the trolley and pull in the
hose by the power takeoff (see point
2.4).
2) Take off the plug placed under the tur-
bine (fig. 26) and the water inlet end cap.

3) Per una maggiore durata della vernice
bisogna pulire la macchina con un getto
di acqua in pressione. Quando è asciutta
spruzzare su tutte le parti metalliche una
miscela di olio e gasolio.
5.0 INCONVENIENTI
1. La macchina non riavvolge il tubo
- la girante interna della turbina è bloccata
da un corpo estraneo, togliere il coperchio
e pulirla;
- il boccaglio dell’irrigatore è parzialmente
intasato ed esce poca acqua. Provvedere
alla pulizia;
- il cono di iniezione in entrata turbina è
intasato, quindi smontare il tubo in entra-
ta turbina e pulirlo;
- boccaglio all’irrigatore troppo piccolo
rispetto al modello della macchina. Sosti-
tuirlo con uno di diametro maggiore o in
alternativa montarne uno più piccolo in
entrata turbina;
- pressione insufficiente in entrata macchi-
na. aumentarla;
- il tubo è stato srotolato con la marcia in-
serita danneggiando il riduttore. Provve-
dere alla riparazione.
3) In order to protect the paint on the ma-
chine it is suggested that the machine be
washed with a high pressure sprayer.
Once dry, all metal parts should be
sprayed with an oil-naphtha mixture.
5.0 TROULESHOOTING
1. Hose does not wind up
- the impeller of the turbine is blocked by
foreign matter. Solution - remove the
turbine and clean the housing.
- the rain gun is partly clogged and only a
small amount of water comes out. Solu-
tion proceed to clean out nozzle.
- the injection nozzle in the turbine is
clogged. Solution - disassemble the hose
at the turbine entry and clean out.
- the rain gun nozzle is too small compared
to the machine model. Solution - it must
be replaced by bigger gun nozzle or a
smaller injection nozzle in the turbine.
- Not enough pressure at the machine. So-
lution – increase it.
- The hose has been unwound with the gear
engaged thus damaging the gearbox.
Solution repair the gearbox.
