Perfection in sound and vision
In the constant pursuit of perfection in sound and
vision, the DV-12S1 is equipped with a 54 MHz,
10 bit video DAC and a 192/24 audio DAC for the
front two audio channels. Uniquely developed
by Marantz, the DV-12S1 utilizes a HDAM (High
Definition Amplifier Module) for the front two
channels. The HDAM is comprised of 2 copper-
shielded, fully discrete output stages with low
noise independent components and short signal
paths. This results in an extremely fast slew rate
and dynamic range for movie soundtrack and
music reproduction.
Uncompromising construction and design
The DV-12S1 DVD player is built on a solid alloy,
copper plated chassis. Extensive bracing, alloy
side panels, a double layer steel bottom plate
encased in copper and shock-absorbent feet
result in minimized internal vibration and
mechanically induced jitter. The DV-12S1 design
incorporates extensive bracing, copper shielding,
glass epoxy circuit boards, and a full floating laser
mechanism, totally isolated in its own enclosure
by a copper plated housing. The precision disc
mechanism provides stable, glitch free playback
along with fast disc access.
Audiophile-grade sound enhancements
The DV-12S1 features extensive use of unique
hand-selected components, like premium
capacitors, a shielded super-ring toroidal main
power transformer and a dedicated FL power
supply for the display. Separation of the FL power
supply isolates noise from the internal circuitry.
The complete power supply circuitry section is
shielded by a copper plated enclosure with heat
dissipation vents. The DV-12S1 employs a video
off and display off mode to minimize interference
from the video circuitry, resulting in high-end
audio and video playback.
Convenience
The DV-12S1 is capable of DVD Video, DVD-
R/RW, VCD 2.0, CD, CD-R/RW and DVD Audio
playback. Along with a full-function brushed
aluminum remote control, many convenience
features are incorporated such as OSD and
parental control. For those who want control over
their video signal, the DV-12S1 has a number of
sophisticated adjustments including a separate
noise reduction for the chrominance and
luminance, white level and black level controls,
chroma level and delay, and black level setup.
The DV-12S1 has gold plated output terminals for
all outputs, which encompass a 6 channel Audio
output, digital (coaxial) Audio output and
composite, S- and component video outputs.
