2. Introduction
The Key-switched Fiber Optic A/B Switch is enclosed in a tamper-proof enclosure. Power and fiber optic
connections are contained within the plastic housing that is closed with tamper-proof screws. A barrel key
is employed to control switching of a common, full duplex fiber optic port to one of two other ports. The
switch defaults to the ’A’ port when the key is removed and when power is removed or lost. The key
cannot be removed when it is in the ’ON’ position. The ON position connects the common port to the ‘B’
port. The connection of the common port to the ‘A’ port is used for the OFF position. This switch is based
on the standard 5100610R Data DeadBolt to which additional physical security features have been added.

3. Installation
Note that the base of the enclosure has two keyhole slots that are provided for attachment of the base to a
wall. The two slotted holes are sized for a #6 screw.
1. Mark the locations of the two mounting holes on the wall to which the switch is to be mounted and drill
holes, adding appropriate hardware to retain the screws. Attach the base of the enclosure to the wall with
two #6 screws.
2. Connect the two SC connectors that are to be coupled through the switch when the key is moved to the
’ON’ position to the ’COMMON’ and ’B’ fiber optic SC connectors. Leave the ‘A’ portunconnected, or
connect a SC connector to it that will be connected through the switch to the COMMON port when the key
is removed (or when power is lost).
3. Connect the included power supply module to a stable source of 120 VAC / 60 Hz power. Connect the
output plug of the power supply module to the 3.5mm power jack located between the COMMON and B
ports.
4. Insert the end panels into the cover of the enclosure that holds all of the connections, routing the power
supply module’s output cable and all fiber optic cables through the slots in the bottom end panel provided
for this purpose. Attach this assembly to the base that was previously secured to the wall, using the tamper-
proof screws included for this purpose. This completes the installation of the switch.
4. Troubleshooting
If you determine that your Data DeadBolt Key-switch Fiber Optic A/B switch is not operating properly,
check your fiber optic cables to be sure that they have not been accidentally damaged or kinked. When you
have verified the integrity of the fiber optic cables, check the power supply module to be sure that it has not
been disconnected from the AC power outlet.
If no problems are found with the fiber optic cables and power connections, contact Market Central by
calling 412.494.2800 and request a RMA number to return the unit for repair/replacement. Carefully
package the switch cover assembly and return it, freight pre-paid to Market Central at:

The switch assembly will be tested for proper operation. Any repairs required within the warranty period
will be made at no charge and the switch will be returned to you freight pre-paid. Please include your
contact information. When your switch has passed the warranty period, you will be contacted with a price
quotation to repair your switch. Please note that physical damage can be sufficiently severe as to prevent
repair of the switch. Authorization for repair will be needed before anout-of-warranty switch can be
repaired. Returned products will be attendedto as quickly as possible.

WARRANTY/ LIMITATION OF REMEDIES AND LIABILITY
WARRANTY Market Central®warrants to the original purchaser only that the products which
are the subject of this Contract will be free of defects in workmanship and materials, under
normal service and use, for a period of one (1) year from date of sale. Products which have been
changed or altered in any manner from their original design, or which are improperly or
defectively installed, tested, serviced or used, are not covered by this warranty. If any alleged
failure to conform to this warranty shall arise during a period of one (1) year from date of sale,
Market Central®shall, upon prompt, written notice and compliance by Customer with such
instructions as Market Central®shall provide with respect to the return of allegedly defective
products or parts, correct such non-conformity by repair or replacement, or by the refund of the
purchase price or applicable portion thereof, at Market Central’s sole discretion. Correction in the
foregoing manner shall constitute a complete fulfillment of all obligations and liabilities of Market
Central with respect to said products. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN
LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES , WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL , IMPLIED OR
STATUTORY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY
OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; AND MARKET CENTRAL EXPRESSLY
DISCLAIMS ANY SUCH WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
LIMITATION OF REMEDY. If any claim shall arise with respect to any alleged non-conforming
product, Market Central's sole obligation and Customer's sole and exclusive remedy shall be the
repair or replacement of said allegedly defective product or component or the refund of the
applicable portion of the purchase price, at Market Central's sole discretion and at no cost to
Customer, in accordance with the warranty provisions of the preceding paragraph. SAID
REMEDY SHALL BE CUSTOMER'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY WITH RESPECT TO
ANY ALLEGED NON-CONFORMING PRODUCT OR OTHER CLAIM AS TO THE CONDITION
OF ANY PRODUCT OR COMPONENT, WHETHER IN THE NATURE OF A CLAIM FOR
BREACH OF WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, PRODUCT LIABILITY
WITH RESPECT TO DESIGN AND/OR MANUFACTURE, OR OTHERWISE.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. In no event will Market Central®be liable for any incidental,
consequential, special or indirect losses or damages arising out of or in connection with the
Contract, its performance or breach thereof, including without limitation any and all losses and
damages arising out of or related to costs of removal and reinstallation of any item, loss of
goodwill, loss of profits, delay and loss of use. MARKET CENTRAL'S LIABILITY WITH
RESPECT TO ANY CLAIM OF ANY KIND FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE SHALL NOT IN ANY
EVENT EXCEED THE PRICE ALLOCABLE TO THE PRODUCT OR UNIT THEREOF WHICH
GIVES RISE TO THE CLAIM; AND MARKET CENTRAL®SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY
PENALTIES, PUNITIVE DAMAGES OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR
