SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully before use!
There are no user replaceable components inside the smoke detector. Only the battery is
replaceable.
Do not use the product in humid, dusty or smoky environments.
When the battery capacity reaches a low level the smoke detector will emit a sound approximately
every 45 seconds to indicate that the battery needs to be replaced.
Keep the smoke detector and packaging out of the reach of children.

OPERATION
The smoke detector works according to the principle that infrared rays spread in the smoke that develops
during the initial phase of a fire. It consists of a photo-electric system, which processes the signals from
the infrared rays. The infrared rays spread over the surface of the smoke when the smoke enters the
smoke detector. The photoelectric diode receives the distributed rays, and activate the photoelectric
current, which triggers the alarm signal. 442-027 is small, user friendly and has a modern and
aesthetically attractive design.
Installation
1. Remove the mounting plate on the back of the smoke detector and insert a 9 volt battery.
2. Press the test button for a few seconds to trigger the alarm. Release the button when you hear the
alarm (it sounds two or three times and then stops automatically). This shows that the smoke
detector works.
3. Install the smoke detector using the 2 supplied screws in the appropriate place (e.g. in the ceiling).
