The MT1890 Barcode Scanner brings modern technology, a user-friendly interface, and a rugged, sleek design together
in one affordable mobile 1D barcode scanning device. Built to withstand the standard operating conditions within industrial
environments, the MT1890 Barcode Scanner can withstand drops up to 15 feet on to solid concrete without damaging
product parts. The MT1890 Barcode Scanner is designed to integrate with an Apple iPod Touch 6th and 5th Generation,
allowing users to train themselves due to the simplicity of the device. The scanner engine provides high-quality accurate
barcode scans even on old or damaged barcodes. The scanner engine is also equipped with Bluetooth low energy, providing
efficient battery life for companies with multi-shift operations.

LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PART REPLACEMENT
STEP 1. Remove screws on outer shell using #00 Phillips screwdriver. Pull bottom mold down and top mold up to snap apart shell.
STEP 2. Remove iPod and inner sleeve from shell. Remove snap power slide from shell.
STEP 3. Unscrew and remove PCB lid using T6 Torx screwdriver.

LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PART REPLACEMENT
STEP 4. With caution; carefully pull battery wires out of space at top of battery compartment. With caution, carefully pull
battery off bottom of battery compartment.
(NOTICE: battery is attached to the bottom of battery compartment with silicon adhesive solution)
STEP 5. Find battery cable plug attached to PCB board. With caution; carefully pull battery cable out of plug to remove
battery completely from PCB board.
STEP 6. With NEW lithium-ion battery part, find battery cable plug attached to PCB board (see Step 5 for additional
instructions). With caution; carefully connect battery cable to the plug attached to PCB board. (NOTICE: battery cable plug
only fits one way, with ridge down, and should not be forced as it will damage the terminal. You will hear a click when a
connection is successfully established).

STEP 7. Use adhesive on bottom of battery compartment and place battery in compartment. (NOTICE: MT MOBILITY
(manufacturer) recommends using silicon or 2mm 3M sticker tape for adhesive). With caution; tuck battery wires in space at
top of battery compartment.
STEP 8. Secure PCB lid with hole dimple facing upward using T6 Torx screwdriver. Snap power slide into shell as shown.
STEP 9. Place iPod in shell. Make sure power slide button is aligned with hole in opening of iPod inner sleeve to ensure the
power slide button will make contact with the iPod power button.

STEP 10. Place top mold of shell on bottom mold of shell. Snap molds together.
STEP 11. Ensure buttons align with screws. Secure screws on outer shell using a #00 Phillips screwdriver.
