Parts that have to be removed for servicing should be

GENERALSAFETYINFORMATION
1) Theapplianceinstallationmustconformwithlocalcodesor,
intheabsenceoflocalcodes,withAG601orNZS5261
2) Theappliancewheninstalled,mustbeelectricallygrounded
in accordance with local codes, or in the absence of local
codeswiththecurrentNationalElectricalCode, AS3100
3) Seegeneralconstructionandassemblyinstructions.
4) Thisappliancemustbeconnectedtoaflueandterminateto
theoutsideofthebuildingenvelope.Neverfluetoanother
roomorinsideabuilding.
5) Inspectthefluesystemannuallyforblockageandanysigns
ofdeterioration.
6) Any safety glass removed for servicing must be replaced
priortooperatingtheappliance.
7) Topreventinjury,donotallowanyonewhoisunfamiliarwith
theoperationtousethefireplace.
Before leaving this unit with the customer, the installer must
ensure that the appliance is firing correctly and operation fully
explained to customer.

LEG ASSEMBLY
Itwill be easiertoattachthe legstothestove if itistippedon its
back(preferablyonasoftsurfacetopreventscratching).
1) Loosen the bolts and washers in the four corners of the
bottom the unit (do one leg at a time or the entire bottom
shieldwillcomeoff).Thecast legscanbeslippedinunder
thewasherandthenre-tightenthebolts.
2) Levelthestovebyadjustingthelevellingboltsinthebottom
ofeach leg.
INSTALLATION
Thisincludes:
1) Clocking the appliance to ensure the correct firing rate
(rate noted on label) after burning appliance for 15 min-
utes.
2) Ifrequired,adjustingtheprimaryairtoensurethattheflame
doesnotcarbon. First allow the unittoburnfor 15-20 min.
tostabilize.
3) Checkforproperdraft.
CAUTION:Anyalterationtotheproductthatcausessootingor
carboningthat results indamageisnot theresponsibilityofthe
manufacturer.
CLEARANCES TO COMBUSTIBLES
TheclearanceslistedbelowareMINIMUMdistances. Measure
theclearancetoboththeapplianceandthechimneyconnector.
The farthest distance is correct if the two clearances do not
coincide.Forexample,iftheapplianceissetasindicatedinone
ofthediagramsbutthebackwallistooclose,movethestoveuntil
thecorrectclearance to the connector is obtained.
This appliance may be installed only with the clearances as
shown in the situations pictured. Do not combine clearances
from one type of installation with another in order to achieve
closer clearances. Use the minimum clearances shown in the
diagrams.

INSTALLATION
DRAFT HOOD
The heater has a draft hood built into its back. It must not be
alteredorobstructed,andtheunitmustbeinstalledsothatthe
draft hood is in the same atmospheric pressure zone as the
combustionair inlettothe burner.
FLUING
This heater is a vented appliance and must be connected to a
chimney/flueinaccordancewithinstallationcodes.
Foryoursafetythisheaterisequipped withafluesafetyswitch.
This thermally actuated switch is located within the draft hood
andwilldetecteitherablockedchimneyor backdraft condition
wherethechimneyflowhasreversedand willreactbyshutting
offthegas supply.
Note: The spill switch is manually resettable and comes
fromthefactoryin theopenposition.Before trying
tostartuptheunit,makesuretheredbuttononthe
spillswitch is pushed in.
Fluing Requirements
100mm diameter flue is required in accordance with AG 601,
NZS 5261 or any relevant local building codes. For altitudes
above610m.werecommendthataminimumflueheightof3.6m.
is used.
GAS CONNECTION
Thegasconnectionisa1/2inchBSPMalethread.Thegasline
canberigidcopperpipe.Pipesizetoensurecorrectoperating
pressure. Forminimumandmaximumsupplypressureseethe
SystemDatatablebelow.
Note: During any pressure testing of the gas supply
pipingsystem thatexceeds testpressures of3.45
kPa,thisapplianceanditsindividualshut-offvalve
must be disconnected from the piping system. If
test pressures equal to or less than 3.45 kPa are
used then this appliance can be isolated from the
pipingsystembyclosingitsindividualmanualshut-
off valve , if fitted, during the testing.
GASPIPEPRESSURETESTING
The appliance must be isolated from the gas supply piping
systembyclosingitsindividualmanualshut-offvalveduringany
pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at test pres-
sures equal to or less than 3.45 kPa. Disconnect piping from
valveatpressures over 3.45 kPa.
Themanifoldpressureiscontrolledbyaregulatorbuiltintothe
gascontrol,and shouldbecheckedatthe pressure testpoint.
Note: To properly check gas pressure, both inlet and
manifold pressures should be checked using the
valve pressure ports on the valve.
1) Makesurethevalveisinthe"OFF"position.
2) Loosen the "IN" and/or "OUT" pressure tap(s), turning
counterclockwisewitha1/8"wideflat screwdriver.
3) Attach manometer to "IN" and/or "OUT" pressure tap(s)
usinga 5/16" IDhose.
4) Lightthepilotandturnthevalveto"ON"position.
5) The pressure check should be carried out with the unit
burningandthesettingshouldbewithinthelimitsspecified
onthesafetylabel.
6) Whenfinishedreadingmanometer,turnoffthegasvalve,
disconnectthehoseandtightenthescrew(clockwise)with
a 1/8" flat screwdriver. Screw should be snug, but do not
overtighten.

TEST FOR FLUE SPILLAGE
This heater must be properly connected to a flue system.
WARNING:Operationofthisheaterwhennotconnectedtoaproperlyinstalledandmaintainedfluesystemortampering
with the flue safety shutoff system can result in carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and possible death.
A“spillage” test must bemadebefore the installed unit isleft with the customer. Follow theprocedure below:
1) Start all exhaust fans in the home and then close all doors and windows in the room.
2) Light the unit and set controls to maximum.
3) After five minutes, test that there is a “pull” on the flue by placing a smoke match, cigarette or similar device which gives off
smoke,ontheedgeofthedrafthood.SeeDiagrambelow.
Thesmokeshouldbedrawninto thedrafthood.Ifthesmokeisstillnotdrawn
intothe drafthood,turn theunitoff andcheckfor thecauseof thelackof draft
andrecfifybeforeproceeding.
Note: If the flue is blocked or has a strong reverse flow, the thermally
actuatedsafetyswitchmountedinthedrafthoodwillautomatical-
ly shut off the gas supply in less than 10 minutes. If the heater
turns off because of this during the spillage test, check for the
cause of the lack of draft and rectify before proceeding.
Toresetthethermallyactuatedsafetyswitch,lettheunitcoolfor
10 minutes, then press the red reset button on the back of the
switch.SeeDiagram.

7) Distributetheembersalongthemeshembertray,butdonot
covertheburnerports. (Burnerportsarethelittleholeson
thetopoftheburnertube.) Pulloffembersizepiecesfrom
therockwool. Gentlyplacethepiecesontopoftheembers.

Do not put the rock wool directly on the burner. Close the
doorandturntheunitonasperlightinginstructions. Watch
theflametoseeifitflowssmoothlyaroundfromoneendto
theother. (UseExtremeCautionandensureproperlightoff
ofburner.)
8) Iftheflamehesitatesatanypoint,checktheareaofhesita-
tion and see if there is an ember or rock wool blocking a
burner port or ports. If so, move the obstruction and then
checktheflame flow again.

INSTALLATION
WARNING: Dangerous operating conditions may occur if
these logs are not positioned in their approved locations.
Read the instructions below carefully and refer to the
diagrams. If logs are broken do not use the unit until they
are replaced. Broken logs can interfere with the pilot and
burner operation.
Thegaslogkitcontainsthe following:
a) FrontLog
b) RearLog
c) Small Cross Logs (2)
d) Bag of embers
e) Bag of rock wool
1) Removethe logsfromtheboxandcarefullyunwrap them.
Thelogsarefragile,handlewithcare. Donotforceinto
position.
2) Place the rear deflector on the rear log support pins in the
backof theunit.
3) Place the rear log into the rear of the firebox, aligning the
holes on the underside of the log with the rear log support
pins and carefully push the log down onto the pins. See
diagrams1 and 2.
4) Ensurethefrontdeflectorisoverfrontlogpins. Seediagram
1.
5) Placethefrontloginthefrontoftheunit,aligningtheholes
on the underside of the log with the log support pins in the
frontoftheunit. Carefullypushthelogdownontothepins.

6) Place the cross logs on top of the larger logs aligning the
holeson the underside of the cross logwith the log pinsin
the larger logs. See diagrams 1 & 2. Carefully push the
cross logs onto the pins.

INSTALLATION
Note: The door must be kept closed at all times, except
during maintenance. The unit must never be oper-
ated without the glass in the door, or with the door
open.
DOOR HANDLE
Attach spring handle by rotating counter clockwise onto rod.
Ensurethatthespringfitsinto the entire length of the rod.
OPTIONAL REMOTE WALL SWITCH
1) Run wire through the opening in the rear of the unit. Be
carefulnotto damage wire.
Note: We recommend a maximum of 4.5m of wire but if
youwishtogowithalongerrunusetheThermostat
WireTable.
2) Connectwiretowallswitchandinstallintoreceptaclebox.
Caution:
Donotwiremillivoltwallswitchforgasapplianceto
a 240V power supply.
OPTIONAL REMOTE CONTROL
INSTALLATION
UsetheOptionalMasportRemoteControlKit approvedforthis
unit.Useof other systems may void your warranty.
The remote control kit comes with a hand held transmitter, a
receiverandawallmountingplate.
1) Choose a convenient location on the wall to install the
receiver and the receptacle box (protection from extreme
heatisveryimportant).Runwiresfromthefireplacetothat
location.UseThermostatWireTable.
2) Connectthetwowirestothegasvalve.Seediagrambelow.

FINAL CHECK
Beforeleavingthisunitwiththecustomer, the installer must ensure that the appliance is firing correctly. This includes:
1) Checkingtheoperating pressure (see data label)
2) Ifrequired,adjustingtheprimaryairtoensurethattheflamedoesnotcarbon.Firstallowtheunittoburnfor15min.tostabilize.
3) Checkforproperdraft.
CAUTION: Any alteration to the product that causes sooting or carboning that results in damage to the unit is not the
responsibilityofthemanufacturerandwillnotbe coveredbythewarranty.

Thisapplianceisequippedwithathree
pronged(grounding)plugforyourpro-
tection against shock hazard and
shouldbepluggeddirectlyintoaprop-
erlygroundedthree-prongreceptacle.
Do not cut or remove the grounding
prongfromthisplug.
No electrical power supply is required for
the gas control to operate. However, a
240VA.C. power supplyisneededfor the
fan/blower operation.
Caution: Ensure that the wires do not
touch any hot surfaces and are away
from sharp edges.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE
1) UsetheON/OFFswitch,wallswitch,thermostatorremote
controltoturn offtheburner.
2) PushinthePILOTknobslightlyandturnclockwisetooff.Do
notforce.
3) Turnoffallelectricpowertotheapplianceifserviceistobe
performed.
LIGHTINGPROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Gas cock knob cannot be turned from
"PILOT" to "OFF" unless it is partially depressed.
1) Turnburner OFF using "ON/OFF"switch.
2) Turngascontrolknobsoindicatorpointsto"OFF"position
andallow5minutesforanygasinthecombustionchamber
toescape.
3) Turngascontrolknobcounterclockwisesoindicatorpoints
tothe"PILOT"position.Depressthegascontrolknobfully.
Depresstheigniterbuttonseveraltimesuntilthepilotlights.
After approximately one minute, release the gas control
knob.Thepilotflameshouldcontinuetoburn.Ifthepilotdoes
not remain lit, repeat operation allowing a longer period
beforereleasinggascontrolknob.
4) When the pilot stays lit, turn the gas knob further counter-
clockwiseto the"ON"position.
5) UsetheON/OFFswitch,wallswitch,thermostatorremote
controltoturn on the unit.
6) Rotatetheflameheightregulator(Hi/Lo)toadjusttheflame
heighthigherorlower.
OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
1) The FIRST FIRE in your stove is part of the paint curing
process. To ensure that the paint is properly cured, it is
recommendedthatyouburnyourfireplaceforatleastfour
(4)hoursthefirsttimeyouuseitwiththefanon.Whenfirst
operated,theunitwillreleaseanodourcausedbythecuring
of the paint and the burning off of any oils remaining from
manufacturing.Smokedetectorsinthehousemaygooffat
this time. Open a few windows to ventilate the room for a
coupleof hours.Theglasspanel mayrequirecleaning.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE GLASS WHILE IT
IS STILL HOT!
Note: When the glass is cold and the appliance is lit, it may
causecondensationandfogtheglass.Thiscondensa-
tionisnormalandwilldisappearinafewminutesasthe
glass heats up.
DO NOT BURN THE APPLIANCE WITHOUT THE GLASS
FRONT IN PLACE.
2) Read and understand these instructions before operating
thisappliance.
3) Check to see that all wiring is correct and enclosed to
preventpossibleshock.
4) Check to ensure there are no gas leaks.
5) Makesuretheglassinthedoorframeisproperlypositioned.
Neveroperatetheappliancewiththeglassremoved.
6) Verifythatthefluingisunobstructed.
7) Verifylogplacement.Ifthepilotcannotbeseenwhenlighting
theunit-thelogshavebeenincorrectlypositioned.
8) Theunitshouldneverbeturnedoff,andonagainwithouta
minimum of a 60 second wait for purging.

1) Push in the gas control knob slightly and turn
clockwise to OFF. Do not force.
FOR YOUR SAFETY READ BEFORE LIGHTING
A) This a liance has a ilot which must be lighted
by hand, following the instructions below
exactly.
B) BEFORE LIGHTING smell all around the a liance
area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor
because some gas is heavier than air and will
settle on the floor.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
- Do not try to light any a liance
- Do not touch any electric switch, do not use any
hone in your building
- Immediately call your gas su lier from a
neighbors hone. Follow the gas su liers in-
structions.
- If you cannot reach your gas su lier, call the
fire de artment.
C) Use only your hand to ush in or turn the gas

ush in or turn by hand, dont try to re air it, call
STOP! Read the safety information above on this
label.
1) Push in gas control knob slightly and turn
clockwise to OFF. Knob cannot be turned
from PILOT to OFF unless knob is ushed in
slightly. Do not force.
2) Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. If you
then smell gas STOP! follow B in the safety
information above on this label. If you dont smell
gas, go to the next ste .
3) Turn knob on gas control counterclockwise
to PILOT.
4) Push in control knob all the way and hold in.
Immediately ush black button on s ark igniter
until ilot lights. Continue to hold the control
knob in for about 1/2 minute after the ilot is lit.
Release knob and it will o back u . Pilot should
remain lit. If it goes out, re eat ste s 3) and 4).
If knob does not o u when released, sto and
immediately call your service technician or gas
su lier.
If the ilot will not stay lit after several tries, turn the
gas control knob to OFF and call your service
technician or gas su lier.
5) Turn gas control knob counterclockwise to ON.
6) Use rocker switch to o erate main burner.

NORMAL OPERATING SOUNDS OF
GASAPPLIANCES
It is possible that you will hear some sounds from your gas
appliance.Thisisperfectlynormalduetothefactthatthereare
various gauges and types of steel used within your appliance.
Listed below are some examples. All are normal operating
soundsandshouldnotbeconsideredasdefectsinyourappli-
ance.
Blower:
Regencygasappliancesusehightechblowerstopushheated
air farther into the room. It is not unusual for the fan to make a
"whirring"soundwhenON.Thissoundwillincreaseordecrease
involume dependingonthesetting ofyourfanswitch.
Burner Tray:
The burner tray is positioned directly under the burner tube(s)
andlogsandismadeofadifferentgaugematerialfromtherest
of the firebox and body. Therefore, the varying thicknesses of
steelwillexpandandcontractatslightlydifferentrateswhichcan
cause"ticking"and"cracking"sounds.Youshouldalsobeaware
that as there are temperature changes within the unit these
soundswilllikelyre-occur.Again,thisisnormalforsteelfirebox-
es.
BlowerThermodisc:
When this thermally activated switch turns ON it will create a
small"clicking"sound.Thisistheswitchcontactsclosingandis
normal.
PilotFlame:
While the pilot flame is on it can make a very slight "whisper"
sound.
Gas Control Valve:
AsthegascontrolvalveturnsONandOFF,adullclickingsound
may be audible, this is normal operation of a gas regulator or
valve.
UnitBody/Firebox:
Differenttypesandthicknessesofsteelwillexpandandcontract
at different rates resulting in some "cracking" and "ticking"
soundswillbe heard throughout the cyclingprocess.
MAINTENANCEINSTRUCTIONS
1) Alwaysturnoffthegasvalvebeforecleaning.Forrelighting,
refer to lighting instructions. Keep the burner and control
compartment clean by brushing and vacuuming at least
oncea year.
Whencleaningthelogs,usea softcleanbrushasthelogs
arefragileandeasilydamaged.
2) Clean appliance and door with a damp cloth (never when
unit is hot). Never use an abrasive cleaner. The glass
shouldbecleanedwithagasfireplaceglasscleaner(when
it starts to cloud up).
3) The heater is finished in a heat resistant paint and should
onlybe refinished withheatresistantpaint. Regencyuses
StoveBritePaint-MetallicBlack#6309.
4) Make a periodic check of burner for proper position and
condition.Visuallychecktheflameoftheburnerperiodically,
makingsuretheflames are steady; not lifting or floating. If
thereisa problem, call an authorised service person.
5) Theapplianceandfluingsystemmustbeinspectedbefore
use, and at least annually, by an authorised field service
person,toensurethattheflowofcombustionandventilation
airis not obstructed.
During the annual service call, the burners should be re-
moved from the burner tray and cleaned. Replace the
embers and rock wool.
6) Each time the appliance is lit, it may cause condensation
and fog the glass. This condensation is normal and will
disappear in a few minutes as the glass heats up.
7) Caution:Labelallwirespriortodisconnectionwhenservic-
ingcontrols.Wiringerrorscancauseimproperanddanger-
ousoperation. Verifyproperoperationafterservicing.

MAINTENANCE
GENERAL FLUE MAINTENANCE
Conduct an inspection of the flue system at least annually.
Recommended areas to inspect are:
1) CheckareasoftheFluingSystemwhichareexposedtothe
elements for corrosion. These will appear as rust spots or
streaks, and in extreme cases, holes. These components
shouldbereplacedimmediately.
2) Remove the Cap, and shine a flashlight down the Flue.
Removeanybirds nests, or otherforeignmaterial.
3) Check for evidence of excessive condensation, such as
waterdropletsformingintheliner,andsubsequently drip-
ping out the joints, Continuous condensation can cause
corrosion of caps, pipe, and fittings. It may be caused by
havingexcessivelateralruns,toomanyelbows,orexterior
portionsofthesystembeing exposed to cold weather.
4) Inspectjoints,toverifythatnopipesectionsorfittingshave
been disturbed, and consequently loosened. Also check
mechanical supports such as Wall Straps for rigidity.
LOG REPLACEMENT
Theunitshouldneverbeusedwithbrokenlogs.Turnoffthegas
valveandallowtheunittocoolbeforeopeningdoortocarefully
removethelogs. The pilot light generates enough heattoburn
someone.Ifforanyreasonalogshouldneedreplacement,use
onlyRegencyreplacementlogs.Thepositionoftheselogsmust
beasshowninthediagramunderLogInstallation.
NOTE: Improper positioning of logs may create
carbonbuild-upandwillaltertheunit’sperformance
which is not covered under warranty.
GOLD-PLATED DOORS
The24caratgoldplatedfinishonthedoorrequireslittlemainte-
nance, and need only be cleaned with a damp cloth. DO NOT
useabrasivematerialsorchemicalcleaners,astheymayharm
the finish and void the warranty. Clean any fingerprints off
before turning the unit on.
GLASSREPLACEMENT
Your F33-1 stove is supplied with high temperature, 5 mm
Neoceram silica coated ceramic glass that will withstand the
highest heat that your unit will produce. In the event that you
break your glass by impact, purchase your replacement glass
from an authorized Regency dealer only, and follow our step-
by-step instructions for replacement.
1) Allowthestovetocoolbeforeremovingorreplacingglass.
2) To remove the door from the stove remove the securing
screwlocatedbetweentheashlipandthedoor,thenunfas-
tenthelatch.
3) Removegoldhingecaps from door.
4) Liftdooroffhinge and lay door on a soft, flat surface.
5) Removethe screwsintheglass retainerclipsand remove
the glass retainer rod. Remove any remaining pieces of
glassandensurethatthedoorisfreeofdebris.Usecaution
whenremovingbrokenglasstoavoidinjury.
6) Installthedoorscreen(Australiaonly).
7) Install the replacement glass. When placing the replace-
mentglassinthedoor,makesurethattheglassgasketing
willproperlysealyourunit.
8) Putglassinplaceandthenpositionglass retainer rod.
Note: Donotuse substitutematerials.If yourglassdoes
break, do not continue to use your unit until it has
beenreplaced.
9) Positiontheglassretainerclipsanddoorsecuringbracket.
Securetheglassretainingscrewsbutdonotovertightenas
this may cause the glass to break after the unit heats up.
10) Tightenallscrewsevenly.Donotovertightenasthismay
causebreakage.
11) Slipdooroverhingepinsandputhingecapsbackontodoor.
Latch door securely using the handle and secure the
security bracket with the screw.

1) Shutoffgas supply.
2) If optional fan is installed, disconnect power source to
stove.
3) Remove access panel from bottom of leg shield.

AERATION ADJUSTMENT
The burner aeration is factory set. Adjustment may be needed
duetothelocalgassupplyoraltitude.Asageneralruleiftheflame
is too yellow open up the air shutter, if it is too blue close the air
shutter.

PILOT ADJUSTMENT
Periodically check the pilot flames. Correct flame pattern
hasthreestrongblueflames:1flowingaroundthethermo-
pile, 1 around the thermocouple and 1 flowing across the
burner (it does not have to be touching the burner).
Note: If you havean incorrectflame pattern,contact your
Masport dealer for further instructions.
Incorrect flame pattern will have small, probably yellow
flames,notcomingintopropercontactwiththerearburner
or thermopile or thermocouple.

THERMOPILE/THERMOCOUPLE
REPLACEMENT
1) Loosenthethermocoupleorthermopilewitha9mmspan-
neratbracket.
2) Disconnectthermocouplebylooseningnutfromthevalve
witha9mmspanner.Disconnectthermopileby loosening
2 screws marked TP on the valve.
3) Dropthethermocoupleorthermopiledownfromthebrack-
etandpullitoutoftheunit.
4) Reinstallthenewones in reverse order.

5) Disconnect3/8"NPTpipe from 90oelbow on valve.
6) Disconnect the two (2) switch wires from valve.
7) Remove two (2) orifice bracket screws inside firebox.

13) Remove thermocouple with a 9 mm (metric) spanner.

• Checkthermopilewithmillivoltmeter.Takereadingatthermopileter-
minalsofvalveTP-TPTH. Should read 250 millivolts minimum while
holding valve knob in pilot position with pilot on and wall switch/two
way switch off.
• Replaceif lower than specified minimum.
• Turn valve knob to on including pilot.Take reading at TP-TPTH with
on/offswitch in the onposition.Readingshouldbe100mvorgreater.
Ifreadingisokayandpilot does not hold, replace gas valve.
• Check two way switch/wall switch for proper connections. Jumper
wireacrossterminalsat two way switch/wall switch. If burner comes
on,replace switch.
• If okay, jumper wire at valve at TH-THTP. If unit turns on, replace
wires and/or check where loose wires are.
• Cleanand/oradjust pilot for maximum flame impingement on
thermopileand/orthermocouple.
• Trace wires from valve to two way switch/wall switch for possible
groundingagainstgasapplianceand/orgassupply.
• Tracethermopilewiresfrom valve to thermopile for possible
groundingagainstgasapplianceand/orgasvalve.
• Followsame steps for thermocouple.
