1 Safety instructions EP 200-DS, EP 300-DS, EP 400-DS:

1) Attention! Read assembly instructions before use.
2) Warning! Disconnect the power supply, remove the plug.
3) Warning! Wear gloves during use.
4) Warning! Danger from spraying oil, use safety glasses.
5) Take note, e.g. never point pressure hose at people or animals.
6) Environmentally friendly disposal.
Failure to comply with the safety instructions may result in the endangering of people as well
as the environment and the facility. Failure to comply with the safety instructions may lead to
loss of any claims for damages. The operator of the facility must ensure that the contents of
the manual, especially the safety instructions for the operators, are known. The operating
personnel must be provided with suitable instruction on a regular basis.
Instructions for EP 200-DS, EP 300-DS, EP 400-DS:
-When the facility is inactive for prolonged periods (e.g. time off over the weekend), the electric
gear pump must be disconnected from the mains. Switch off pump at the on/off switch and pull out
the plug.
-The installation must not be operated in potentially explosive areas.
-Viscous media of Hazard Classes A1 and A2 cannot be used.
-Ensure that the 220V power socket is secured with at least 10 A.
-Ensure that you have a secure grip on the pump.
-Only use original accessories approved by MATO. Liability cannot be accepted in case of
accidents caused by foreign parts.
-The reliability of the system is only guaranteed when used as intended.
-Trace return hose back to the safety valve (9) of the tank.
-Tampering or changes to the safety valve (9) are prohibited.
-In combination with drum and carriage, operate parking brake when parking.
Preparatory measures / handling
−Protective gloves made of leather and goggles must be worn during use.
−Observe safety data sheets for hazardous substances (oil, diesel) used. Instruct employees on a
regular basis.
−Do not bend pressure hose sharply.
−Installation in general is only to be operated under supervision in order to prevent containers
overflowing or the oil filler gun from slipping out.
Repair / maintenance
−Before carrying out any repair or maintenance work, break off the power supply (unplug mains
plug) and relieve pressure on the system by opening the oil filler gun.

−Regularly check the pressure-bearing components (high pressure hose) as well as the
current-carrying components for any damage. Defective parts must be replaced immediately with
genuine parts.
−Use of non-original accessories, e.g. hose lines, connections, can in isolated cases pose the risk
of accidents. In case of accidents or damage caused by foreign parts liability cannot be accepted.
−Modification or alteration of the device is only permitted after consultation with the manufacturer.
−The reliability of the device is only guaranteed when used as intended.
−Maintenance, inspection and repair work must only be performed by qualified personnel.
−Caution: hot components only cool gradually after being shut down.
−Safety-related parts (e.g. safety valve) may only be replaced or adjusted by the manufacturer.
2 Intended use / guarantee
The electric gear pump is suitable for decanting and filling of oil. The bypass valve integrated in
the pump body is at the limit of the max. delivery pressure of the pump.

For hydraulic, motor and gear oils of a low to high viscosity.
It is possible to use hose reels as well as longer conveyor lines due to the high pressure
performance of 16 bar.
Used oils may only be utilised if no solid particles are present. Any other use as well as
modification or alteration of the installation is only permitted after consultation with the
manufacturer.
If the installation is used as intended and in accordance with the instructions, we are liable under
the statutory warranty (see our Terms and Conditions).
The invoice from your dealer with the date of purchase must be enclosed with warranty claims
3 Assembly and delivery
The structure, including the individual components, is depicted on page 3.
4 Set up and operation 200-DS, EP 300-DS, EP 400-DS:
-Screw telescopic suction tube (5) into angle piece (6).
-Screw telescopic suction tube with angle piece into the R 2" connection of the tank.
-Set gear pump (1) onto the tank. When using the pump holder for the 700/1000 liter tank, the
carrying handle of the pump can be removed.
-Trace return hose back to the safety valve of the tank.
-Connect suction hose (2) to the pump (1) and the angle piece (6).
-Assemble oil filler gun (4) and pressure hose (3) at the pressure side of the pump.
Check all connections for a firm fit and leaks before starting the system.
-Insert 220V mains plug into the socket. Check that the pump is switched off.
-The system is now operational.
-Press the pump's on-switch. Operate the oil filler gun until production commences.
-If the gun is closed, the pump builds up to max. pressure and then shuts off automatically.
-If the pressure switch fails to switch off properly, then please refer to the separate instructions for
adjusting the pressure switch. (In casing of the pressure switch)
-When the system is not in use turn off the electric gear pump.

5 Maintenance and care:
The electric vane cell pump works maintenance free.
Regularly check the pressure-bearing components (pressure hose and oil filler gun) as well as
the current-carrying parts of the pump for any damage or wear. Defective parts must be
replaced immediately with genuine parts.

When ordering spare parts the following information is required:

6 Tips for fault diagnostics:
Symptom Possible cause Rectification
The motor is not running. Mains plug not in the socket
The wiring to the motor is faulty.
Insert mains plug into the socket.
Repair by an electrician.
Device does not
discharge any oil. The container is empty.
Foot valve is faulty.
Check the level of the oil container.
Press reset button.

Pumped Liquids EP 200-DS, EP 300-DS, EP 400-DS:
Oils based on mineral oil and biodegradable oils.
Fluids including Hazard Class A3 can be supported.
Viscous media of Hazard Classes A1 and A2 can not be supported.
If media not listed here are used, please clarify this with our technical department.
If oils (particularly used oils) with high levels of abrasive particles (metal dust, sanding dust, etc.) are
pumped, then a fine filter must be retrofitted into the suction line of the pump.
Not suitable for water, chemicals and corrosive media
8 Disposal
After termination of use the device is to be disposed of in an environmentally
friendly manner in accordance with applicable statutory provisions.
Your contribution to protection of the environment:
The applicable regulations for the registration, installation and operation of equipment for
handling of substances hazardous to water are to be strictly observed by the operator (such as,
e.g., Federal Water Act, German Ordinance on Exposure to Substances Hazardous to Waters
and Technical Rules and Regulations for Flammable Liquids).
