DESCRIPTION
Use this guide to pair an ANT+ console with an RPM transmitter. These steps are also available in the
ANT+ console owner’s manual on pages 8 through 10.
REQUIRED TOOLS
PH2 Phillips Screwdriver 3mm Allen wrench
SOLUTION
1. Attach the transmitter to the frame:
•On IC5 bikes, remove the transmitter cover screws at the bottom of the frame. Locate the
transmitter wire. Install the transmitter batteries and securely attach the transmitter wire,
but do not insert the transmitter into the frame. Gently lower and release the transmitter
and allow it to hang freely.
•On most other models, the transmitter attaches to the outside of the frame, near the
flywheel. Insert the batteries, and then attach the transmitter with two screws.

2. Begin console setup by pressing any button on the ANT+ console while simultaneously installing
batteries.
3. Once the batteries have been installed, all fields will populate on the LCD display. Press the SUN
button to display the software version.
4. Press the SUN button again to choose ANT+ RPM pairing mode.

5. Position the console and begin the pairing process:
•On IC5 bikes, hold the ANT+ console near the flywheel, between the X in the Matrix logo
and the ICG logo. Press the FLOW button to begin pairing.
•On most other models, hold the ANT+ console as close as possible to the transmitter.
Press the FLOW button to begin pairing.
6. When the console is in pairing mode, slowly turn the cranks by hand in order to keep the flywheel
in motion and provide an RPM signal. Continue to hold the console in place until paired. Once
paired, the console will show the current RPMs of the flywheel, as shown below. If the console
fails to pair, see step 9 to begin troubleshooting.
7. Program KM or mile:
a. Press the SUN button to enter the KM/MILE setting.
b. Press the FLOW button to toggle between KM and mile.
c. Press the SUN button to confirm your selection and enter the gear ratio settings.

8. Program the gear ratio setting:
a. Press the FLOW button to browse options:
•1:3.1 for ICG bikes with V-Belt Drive (IC3, S-Series, E-Series)
•1:4.0 for ICG bikes with Timing-Belt Drive
•1:4.3 for Krankcycle
•1.1.0 for IC5
b. Press the SUN button to confirm your selection and finish the basic settings process.
c. Attach the ANT+ console to the frame.
d. IC5 bikes only: After successful pairing, insert the transmitter vertically into the IC5,
secure the transmitter to the frame with two screws, and then attach the transmitter cover
to the frame.
9. Test the ANT+ console. Simulate a brief session and confirm that the console reads and displays
all information. (Note: The heart rate will only display if a personal heart rate chest belt is used). If
the test is unsuccessful, troubleshoot using the steps below:
•Reset the console: remove the batteries, press and hold the SUN and FLOW buttons
simultaneously for 10 seconds, and then reinsert the batteries. Repeat pairing steps 2
through 8.
•Reset the transmitter: detach the transmitter from the frame, remove the batteries, wait
30 seconds, and then reinsert the batteries. Repeat pairing steps 2 through 8.
