GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING! READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
Failure to follow all instructions listed may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
AREA OF USE:
• Keep surrounding area clean and well lit. Cluttered areas invite accidents.
• Do NOT operate in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY:
• Do NOT operate in standing water.
• Do NOT cut-off or restrict air circulation.
•Do NOT expose Traveler to rain or snow.
•Do NOT place Traveler against toe of the shoe or boot; leave one inch of free space.
• Use of attachments not recommended or sold by MaxxDry™ may result in a risk of fire, electric shock,
or injury to persons.
• To reduce risk of damage to electric plug and cord, pull by plug rather than cord when disconnecting unit.
• Make sure the cord is positioned so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over or otherwise subjected
to damage or stress.
• An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of improper extension cord
could result in a risk of fire, electric shock or electrocution.
• Two-wire cords can be used with 2-wire or 3-wire extension cords. Only round jacketed extension
cords should be used and we recommend that they be listed by Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.). If the
extension cord is to be used outside, it must be suitable for outdoor use. Any cord marked for outdoor
use can also be used for indoor use. The letters “W” or “WA” on the cord jacket indicate that the cord
is suitable for outdoor use.
• An extension cord must have adequate wire size (AWG or American Wire Gauge) for safety and to
prevent loss of power and overheating. The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the greater the
capacity of the cable; that is, 16 gauge has more capacity than 18 gauge. When using more than 1
extension to make up the total length, be sure each extension contains at least the minimum wire size.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Plug the MaxxDryVT™into any standard 120 Volt 60 Hz electrical outlet or any standard 12-Volt
automotive receptacle using the proper power cord which is included. Slide carefully into footwear
being cautious not to restrict or block air circulation.
2. Do NOT trap, smother, pinch or suffocate the air circulation into or out of footwear with clothing or any
other substance. This may cause overheating.
3. Do NOT force the MaxxDryVT™into smaller footwear. The unit will work by placing into shoe or boot
opening without being pushed all the way in.
4. Leave adequate space at entrance to footwear, being careful not to restrict or block air flow.
5. Leave one inch of free space between MaxxDryVT™ and the toe end of the shoe or boot.
HELPFUL TIPS:
1. Make sure not to pinch or otherwise suffocate air circulation when placing unit into footwear. Loosen
laces and pull footwear tongue outward to help open breathing space.
2. Footwear should be dried after every use to help prevent bacteria and fungus growth, which is the
primary cause of footwear odor.
3. Smaller footwear and garments will dry quicker than larger items.
4. Your energy efficient MaxxDryVT™heats to a gentle temperature, using Thermal Convection technology
to quietly dry wet garments, but it does not generate a forced air movement. At first you may suspect
the unit is not operating properly. We recommend placing the unit into your boot or shoe for 15 to 20
minutes, the heat will be felt when the unit is placed in footwear and is in service.
OPERATION TIME:
• Drying time varies depending upon extent of moisture as well as temperature and humidity.
• We recommend a minimum of 1 hour every time your shoes or boots are used.
MAINTENANCE:
Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the MaxxDryVT™. Never immerse any part of unit into liquid.
