2.0 FUNCTION
2.1 Highlight for Bleach Wipes Lid (“Lid”) is a reusable product that dispenses
disinfectant wipes colorized blue by Highlight for Bleach Wipes Cartridge
(“Cartridge”) to improve visibility of surface coverage. The colour fades to
colorless over time.
2.2 Highlight for Bleach Wipes Adapters (“Adapters”) enable Lids to be used with
9-inch bucket sized bleach wipes or with 4-inch canister sized bleach wipes.

3.0 HOW TO USE
3.1 Attach Lid directly to a wipe canister or Adapter.
3.1.1 There are two Adapter sizes: the 9-in for bucket sizes and the 4-in
for small canisters.
3.1.2 9-in Adapter instructions: remove the top from the bleach wipes
bucket. Attach the Adapter to the bleach wipes bucket. Place the
Lid on top of the Adapter.
3.1.3 4-in Adapter instructions: remove the top from the bleach wipes
canister. Attach the Adapter to the bleach wipes canister. Place
the Lid on top of the adapter.

3.2 Insert a Cartridge into the Lid.

3.2.1 Each Cartridge is single use and is adequate for one bucket or
two canisters of bleach disinfectant wipes.
3.3 Thread the rst wipe though the Lid by opening the Lid using the two side
latch buttons and ensure that the wipe is laying horizontally across the center
of the rollers. Take care not to pinch the wipe when closing the Lid.

3.5 Immediately apply the wipe to the surface to be disinfected. Apply friction and
adequately cover the entire surface with the blue colour.
3.5.1 Use only on hard, non-porous surfaces such as laminates,
stainless steel, hard plastics, vinyl, and glass. Avoid contact with
fabrics, untreated wood, paper products, or other soft, porous
surfaces.
3.4 Press the Lid’s “Dispense Wipe” button to dispense colorized wipes. Wipes will
advance as long as the button is pressed. To dispense a wipe, hold the button
until you see a wipe perforation.

3.4.1 When using a new Cartridge, the rst wipes may appear
white until the Cartridge begins to colorize wipes. Once
colour is visible, open the Lid, place wipes back into container,
and repeat step 3.3.

3.8 Detach the Lid or Adapter from the empty container of bleach disinfectant
wipes. Repeat 3.1 through 3.8.
3.9 After 5 minutes of inactivity, bleach wipes will retract to prevent drying out of
the wipes.
3.6 Highlight will fade from blue to clear within several minutes.
3.6.1 If any residual colour is left, the colour can be removed by a wet
paper towel or bleach wipe.
3.7 When one bucket of bleach wipes or two canisters of bleach disinfectant
wipes have been used to completion, remove the Cartidge from the Lid.

3.10 Highlight for Bleach Wipes is compatible with almost all sizes of healthcare and
professional-grade bleach wipes. This chart provides common examples but is
not a complete list.

4.0 STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
4.1 Lid can be cleaned with a bleach wipe or a wet cloth.
4.2 Lid should be stored out of direct sunlight. Do not expose to extreme
temperatures.
4.3 Cartridge should be stored above 6°C (42°F). in a dry place in the original
container. Keep away from open ames, intense heat, or direct sunlight.
4.4 When Cartridge is empty, the battery pack may be removed from the
underside of the Cartridge and batteries can be disposed based on workplace
guidelines. Empty Cartridge can be disposed of in regular waste.
4.5 Do not attempt to open or disassemble Lid. Do not drop.
4.6 Use within 1 year of purchase.
4.7 Do NOT use with expired bleach wipes, refer to bleach wipe product label.

5.0 TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Probable Cause Solution
1. No response when pressing
Dispense Wipe Button on Lid.
Cartridge not properly inserted into or
not making contact with Lid.
Remove Cartridge from Lid. Ensure Pogo Pins on Lid
and Battery Contacts are clean and re-insert fully into
Lid.
Lid not properly closed. Ensure Lid is completely closed with the 2 Lid Latch-
es (1 on each side of the Lid) engaged.
Lid Closing Switch is not working
properly.
Open Lid and ensure the Lid Closing Switch is not
damaged and can be depressed and spring back
freely.
Battery power low. Replace batteries in Battery Compartment (6 AA
batteries required) or utilize new Cartridge.
2. Pressing Dispense Wipe
Button runs motor but not
dispensing wipe.
No wipe in the canister. Replace with new Canister.
Wipe is not engaging with Rollers. Open Lid and ensure wipe is placed on top of the
Bottom Roller with 1-2 inch lead.
3. Pressing Dispense Wipe But-
ton feeds out wipes but
not dispensing any Highlight
onto wipe.
No Highlight in the Cartridge. Replace with new Cartridge.
Cartridge is not installed correctly. Remove Cartridge from Lid and re-insert.

4. Pressing Dispense Wipe But-
ton feeds out wipes slowly and a
small amount of Highlight.
Battery power low. Replace batteries in Battery Compartment
(6 AA batteries required) or utilize new Cartridge.
5. Pressing Dispense Wipe
Button when no wipe is present
across the rollers causes Lid to
dispense Highlight.
Door Sensor not sensing absence of
Wipe.
Open Lid and ensure the Door Sensor can swing
freely.
6. Pressing Dispense Wipe But-
ton does not dispense wipe after
a wipe retraction.
Wipe is not engaging with Rollers after
wipe retraction.
Open Lid and ensure wipe is placed on top of the
Bottom Roller with 1-2 inch lead.
7. Wipe does not retract after 5
minutes of inactivity.
Lid was opened during the 5 minute
window.
The Lid must remain closed for 5 minutes after a
Dispense Wipe Button press for the wipe retraction to
occur.
8. Most of the colour is fading,
but some colour residue is being
left behind.
Inconsistent wiping technique and
uneven disinfectant coverage.
Fold the wipe in half and wipe the surface with
multiple passes to evenly and thoroughly distribute
disinfectant coverage. Any colour residue left behind
can be wiped away with a wet paper towel or another
bleach disinfectant wipe.
The surface contains soil or residue,
such as sticker residue.
Remove any soil, gross lth, or residue prior to apply-
ing Highlight in order to achieve eective disinfection
on surfaces.
9. Less than 50% of the colour is
fading or not fading at all.
Bleach wipes are no longer at the right
concentration of bleach (due to decay
or expiration).
Test concentration with hypochlorite test strip (if avail-
able) or switch to a new bucket or canister of bleach
wipes using the same Lid and Cartridge.
Bleach wipes are not being used. Conrm to make sure that sodium hypochlorite wipes
are being used. Switch to a new canister or bucket of
bleach wipes.

6.0 WARRANTY
6.1 A.M.G. Medical Inc. warrants the Highlight for Bleach Wipes Lid to be free
from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal and intended
use and conditions, for a period of one (1) year from the original invoice date.
A.M.G. Medical Inc. will at its sole discretion during the warranty period repair
or replace with new or refurbished product without charge.
6.2 Inspect the Lid, Cartridge, and packaging to verify no damage has occurred
as a result of shipping and handling. Do not use the Device if the integrity
of the packaging has been compromised or the Device appears damaged.
In the event of damage, retain the package with the contents and notify the
manufacturer.
6.3 Warranty limitations: this warranty does not include any condition resulting
from other than ordinary wear or any use for which the product was not
intended; any condition resulting from incorrect or inadequate maintenance
or care; damaged caused by accident, abuse, misues, re, liquid contact,
earthquake, or other external cause; and damages incurred during
transportation.
7.0 CAUTION
7.1 Keep out of reach of children. For professional use only.
7.2 This product is not a disinfectant. For use with Health Canada-registered
bleach-based disinfectant wipes only. Not for use with semi-critical or critical
medical devices.
7.3 The Lid and Cartridge should only be used by sta who are trained in using
the Lid and Cartridge. The Lid should only be used with the Cartridge
provided by A.M.G. Medical.
7.4 Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear gloves and protective
eyewear. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before
eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet.
7.5 First Aid: If in eyes, hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for
15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the rst 5 minutes
and then continue rinsing eyes. Call a poison control center or doctor for
treatment advice.
