The Patient Transfer Belt can be used in any situationwhere the carer needs a firm grip in order to assist/ support
the client. Such situations may include helping a client to move from sitting to standing, and vice versa, and
manual handling, standing and seated to/from bed, wheelchair, vehicle, commode, toilet, etc.
Finally, the Patient Transfer Belt can be used tosupport the client during walking training.
The Patient Transfer Belt has a broad contact surfaceand ergonomic handles, which provide a secure grip from all
angles.
Easy to use from all sides. Easy to buckle and tighten.
The Medequip Ladder Belt is an additional belt available for use with the Medequip RS series Patient Transfer devices.
The strap helps one or two carers, when correctly attached to the Transfer device, to lift a person who requires extra
assistance during the sit to stand transfer. Specifically designed to have well-positioned handles on either side of the
transfer platform that can be used by one or two carers. The unique sliding sleeveremains firmly in position around the

Transfer devices.
Medequip Patent Transfer Belt Medequip Ladder Belt
Fit the Support Belt around the client's waist or hips.
Make sure that the velcro provides a firm support
around the user’s waist. Push the black buckle parts
together until they are locked. (You will hear an audible
“Click”.) Place the webbing loop with the black buckle
over the post in the centre of the RS2 Patient Transfer
Device Handle. To tighten the Support Belt: Grasp the
end of the strap with the D-Ring attached and the
functional handles on the Support Belt itself –pull on the
strap while holding the handle on the Support Belt.
The Support Belt tightens up around the client.
The carer should make sure that the Support Belt is
secure but that it is not uncomfortable for the
client.
The Support Belt should be retightened once the client
has completed the move from seated to standing
position. This can be achieved by locking the grey
buckle in the same way as the black buckle. Release
the velcro straps & retighten around the patient’s
waist or hips, locking the velcro pads when it is in a
secure & comfortable position.
Fit the Ladder Belt around the client's waist or
hips. To connect the Ladder Belt: Grasp one end
of the strap with the webbing loop attached and
the functional handles on the Ladder Belt itself –
pull on the strap while holding back on the
Ladder Belt. Place one end of the strap with
square holes over the ladder belt anchor on the
front edge of the Transfer unit handle. Pull the
other end of the strap (using webbing loop) until
the belt is tight around the patient & lock the
second section onto the second ladder belt
anchor, so that the patient is comfortably
supported.
