MFB TT/CO/CL-522 User manual

General
The TT/CO/CL module is based on a slightly modified circuit of the sounds in MFB’s drum
computer model 522 but its sounds can be ider edited. The instruments can be manually
edited in different parameters. In addition Decay, Tune and Pitch can also be controlled or
modulated by CV-signals like envelopes, LFOs or step-sequencers.
Operation
The type and the electricity supply of the module Snare-522 is compatible ith the Doepfer A-
100 modular system. The ten-pin MFB connection cable is connected ith the 16 pin jack of
the MIDI/CV board or the Doepfer bus-board. The supply voltage has to total up to +/- 12
volt. A 5 volt voltage is not necessary. The attage is +/- 30 mA, the module size 12 HP = 60
mm.
Attention: You have to make sure that there is the correct politary! The coloured ire of the
ribbon cable has to look do n, that means the cable is not allo ed to be t isted.
Functions
The sounds are triggered by the TT In, CO In and CL In. Common triggers are analogue or
digital gate-signals of a step-sequencer, a MIDI-CV/Gate-converter or a square-LFO.
Alternatively, drum pads, dynamic or piezo-trigger-microphones may also be used. Dynamic
triggering ill not only affect the sound’s volume but also the attack and decay times slightly.
Sens is a trim control to adjust the input’s sensitivity to the trigger-signal. The highest
sensitivity allo s triggering at a minimum voltage of around 0.1 volt. The input reacts to the
positive slope of the signal.
TT Out, CO Out and CL Out carries the audio signal. This can be routed into a mixer (e.g.
DRUM-99), a VCA or any other sound manipulating module. You may also use the output to
connect the module directly to your mixing console or audio-interface.
Soundparameters Tom/Con a
Both instruments share one tone generator (t-bridge filter) so you can only hear one at the
same time.
TT/CO Tune sets the frequency of the sound. The frequency can be controlled ith any CV
signal through the input Tune. The pot orks as an attenuator in this case.
With TT/CO Pitch you can set the modulation amount of its picth envelope. This can be
controlled ith any CV signal through the CV input TT/CO Pitch. The pot orks as an
attenuator in this case.
Attack sets the volume of the transient attack.
Soundparameters Claves
CL Tune sets the frequency of the clave. The frequency can be controlled ith any CV signal
through the input CL Tune. The pot orks as an attenuator in this case.
CL Decay sets the release time of the clave. This can be controlled ith any CV signal
through the CV input CL Decay. The pot orks as an attenuator in this case.
Note: The required voltage for all CV-inputs needs to be ithin a range of 0 to 5 volts.
The module offers the ne developed M-Bus connector hats mean you can you control
everything via Midi/CV interface or our SEQ-01 Pro drumsequencer ithout additional
patching. Modules get connected serial, M-Bus to first modul, first modul to second modul
and so far .. Follo ing adresses are supported:
Trigger TomTom MIDI Note #41 or #43, depend to the jumpers position.
Trigger Conga MIDI Note #49 oder #51, depend to the jumpers position.
MIDI CCs for
Tune = 21
Decay = 37
Pitch = 45
Trigger Clave MIDI Note #00 or #00, depend to the jumpers position.
MIDI CCs
Tune = 00
Decay = 00
Controllers getting ignored if another midi notes ill be sent. Once the TT/CO/CL reserved
trigger appears again the module reacts to CC again.
Note: The value of controller ill be added to the pots.
