3. Operation
Press the sponge down a few times against the ground surface; this will open the
valve inside the sponge so that the liquid can pass into it.
Weeds using Glyphosate
Dab each weed for up to two or three times. It is not necessary to apply the liquid to
the whole of the weed. For the treatment to be effective, the chemical requires at
least 4 6 hours of dry weather. The results should be visible after 7 14 days,
depending on weather conditions.
Silver Moss (silvery thread moss)
Dab each clump of silver moss one or two times. The greater the number of dabs the
more damage to grass species will occur. The Katoun will work immediately and the moss
will start to change colour within hours. After 24 hours a distinct circle will be seen where
product has been applied. Bents are tolerant to Katoun but will initially scorch and will regrow
from the growing point. After 48 hours seed can be worked into the areas treated to speed
up recovery and compete with the silver moss.
4. Cleaning
Unscrew the sponge from the stick by gently turning it anticlockwise (with the sponge
pointing upwards) and wash it in a bucket of water. Ensure you wear suitable
protective equipment. For best results, squeeze the sponge a few times and rinse it
again. Never clean the sponge under running water!
Aim to only mix the volume of product required – Glyphosate treatments residues can
be stored a suitable clearly marked container in a safe place. Katoun solution should
be used up and not stored.

2. Filling
Total Weed use (Glyphosate)
The Weedstick+ is recommended for use with Roundup (active ingredient:
glyphosate). For best results use a 1:3 (Roundup:water) dilution ratio. For example,
to fully fill the tube dilute one part of Roundup (150ml) in two parts of water (300ml).
The inlet is located at the top end of the stick. To open it, twist the filler cap
anticlockwise. Hold the stick with the sponge pointing downwards and pour the
mixed solution into the tube. Ensure you wear suitable protective equipment during
mixing and filling. To close the stick, reposition the filler cap and twist it clockwise;
the Weedstick+ is now ready to use.
