I GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The serial data link system permits data communication between plural programmable controllers
and
1/0 units to reduce wiring works of decentralized, long-distance 1/0 equipment, allow de-

centralizedcontrol, and increase the total number of input/outputs.
The
MELSEC-K series serial data link system is available in the type which utilizes coaxial cables
or optical fiber cables for the transmission system. This instruction manual explains about the
specifications, installation, programming, and external wiring of the optical data link system which
utilizesoptical fiber cables.
