System requirements
Computer :PowerMacintosh G4, G5, PowerBookG4
Main storage memory :128 Mbytes or more
Hard disk :Empty capacity 256 Mbytes or more
Operating system :10.3.3 or later
USB cable :Be sure to use a cable of 2m or shorter.
P93DW supports the USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB) interface.
As USB 2.0 is completely upwardly compatible with USB 1.1, P93DW can be connected with a personal
computer on which USB1.1 interface is available.
When you use P93DW with USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB), the personal computer has to support USB 2.0 (Hi-
Speed USB).
For the compatibility of the personal computer with USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB), ask the manufacturer of the
personal computer.
Installation
Administrator authority is required to install this printer driver.
1) Start your Macintosh.
2) Double-click on “MITSUBISHI P93D.pkg” of the MacOSX folder.
3) Click “Continue” button in the “Install MITSUBISHI P93D”. (Fig.1)
4) Select the destination of the driver and click “Continue” button. (Fig.2)

5) Click “Install” button.(Fig.3)
6) Enter a name and password, and click “OK” button. (Fig.4)

7) Click “Continue Installation”. (Fig.5)
8) Click “Restart” to restart the personal computer. (Fig.6)

9) Turn on the printer and connect it with the personal computer.
10)Double-click “Printer Setup Utility” of “Utilities” folder in the “Applications” folder. (Fig. 7)
11)The P93D is automatically added to “Printer List” (Fig. 8)

Function explanation
1. Page Setting dialog

1) Paper Size
The size of paper is selected.
The number of print pixels for each paper size is
shown in the right table.
2) Orientation
The direction of paper is set.
This is the standard setting function of the operat-
ing system.
3) Scale
Enlargement scale is set.
This is the standard setting function of the operat-
ing system.
2. Print Setting dialog
Select “Printer Features” of “Print Setting” dialog to carry out the following settings.
2.1. Setting 1

1) Paper Type
High density paper/High glossy paper/Standard paper
The paper type is selected.
2) Mirror
The function horizontally reverses the print output.
3) 180 degree rotate
The function rotate 180 degrees the print output.
4) Continuous print
When turning on, the same image has been printed until paper runs out.
* Press the FEED button on the printer, to stop the continuous print.
* The printer gives priority to a continuous print even if the number of copies is set from the application.

2.2. Setting 2

1) Paper saving
OFF/ON
When ON is selected, the print feeding length gets shorter than normal condition.
2) Buzzer sound
OFF/ON-LOW/ON-HIGH
Select the buzzer type.
OFF :Does not sound the buzzer.
ON-LOW :Sounds the buzzer in lower volume.
ON-HIGH :Sounds the buzzer in higher volume.
3) Comment
OFF/Print setting/DATE/DATE&TIME
Select the comments.
OFF :Does not print any comments.
Print setting :Prints the print settings.
DATE :Prints the date.
DATE&TIME :Pirnts the date and time.

1) Gamma
r5/r4/r3/r2/r1
Gamma curve is selected.
2) Sharpness
Soft / Normal / Hard
Level of outline correction is changed.
3) Brightness
The brightness is adjusted.
Adjusted value (-64-+64)
When the value gets smaller, the entire image becomes darker.
K '(x) = K(x) + Brightness
4) Contrast
The contrast is adjusted.
Adjusted value (-64-+64)

3. Error indication
When no error message is displayed on the monitor and printing is not carried out, check the indicators on
the front of the printer.
For the indicator on the printer, see the operation manual of P93DW.
Notes
1) Secure of Hard disk for spool file
Secure the capacity of Hard disk for spool file enough for the printer operation and the number of printing
sheets.
The printing cannot be correctly carried out when the capacity is running short.
The drive for spool file is the same drive as the system drive usually.
2) Operation of the printer
Refer to the operation manual of the printer.
Do not turn off the power switch during data transfer or print.
If you turn off the power switch, restarting of a computer may be needed.
When deletion of a printing data cannot be performed, restarting of a computer is required.
3) Applicability of the image adjustment
Gamma, Sharpness, Brightness, and Contrast are applied to the entire printing range including the back-
ground.
4) About "Continuous print"
When you stop "Continuous print", push the FEED button on the printer.
5) Print job
Do not delete the print job in the spooler during data transfer. When deleting it, do not start printing until the
printer becomes to the initial status.
6) Number of prints
In some application, the number of prints set by the printer driver does not work. Set the number of prints
from the print dialog box of the application.
7) Continuous print
When carrying out the continuous printing, set “Copies” to “1”. When “Copies” is set to other than 1, continu-
ous printing is carried out for all the set number of copies.
Error dialog message
Paper empty. After remov-
ing Error, printer will
restart.
Door is opened. After
removing Error, printer will
restart.
Gear lock error. Turn the
printer power Off and On.
Something is wrong with

Operation
When installing a new roll of
paper, the dialog disappears and
printing starts again.
When closing the door, the dialog
disappears and printing starts
again.
When turning off and on the
power, the dialog disappears and
printing starts again.
Some error occurs in the printer.
When resolving the error, the
dialog disappears and printing
starts again.
Button
The buttons in the error dialogs work
as standard operating system. The but-
tons as follows are displayed.
Delete job : Deletes the job during
printing.
Stop All jobs : All the jobs in the
spooler, including the
jobs during printing
become paused.
Stop job : Stops the job during
printing. When any job
is in the spooler, the
job starts.

8) Printing on “1280x1280” size paper
When “1280x1280” size paper is selected, the rotated image may be printed, regardless the orientation
setting.
9) When “Restart” is carried out from the job window without resolving an error after “Job stop” button in the
error dialog is clicked, the error dialog may not be displayed. In this case, select “Job stop” to resolve the
error, then click “Job start” to start printing.
10) About connection of a computer and a printer
Do not disconnect the interface cable during data transfer.
11)System requirements for USB interface
Use the computers that are USB-guaranteed by the manufacturer.
P93DW supports the USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB) interface.
As USB 2.0 is completely upwardly compatible with USB 1.1, P93DW can be connected with a personal
computer on which USB1.1 interface is available.
When you use P93DW with USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB), the personal computer has to support USB 2.0 (Hi-
Speed USB).
For the compatibility of the personal computer with USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed USB), ask the manufacturer of the
personal computer.
12)Connection of USB cable
When you take out and insert a USB cable after installation of a printer driver, wait 10 seconds or more after
extracting a cable.
If the cable is reinserted without leaving an interval, the printer may not operate normally.
Operating directions for customer’s purpose
1. When you want to shorten data transmission and print time
1) In case a small image file is expanded and printed
When a small image file is expanded and printed, do not operate the enlargement scale of the application
side or the option dialog, but select the suitable image enlarging rate (125%, 160% or 200%) of the paper
size in the standard dialog. As a result, the data transmission time will be shortened.
Example)
When you print the file of the image of 640*480 pixels, if making the setting of the paper size in the
standard dialog
“200% ( 640 * 480 )” and printing at the printer enlargement 1280*960pixels, the transmission time will be
shortened.
2. When you want to adjust the image of the print out.
1) When you want the density of entire print picture to be thick (dark), decrease the value of "Brightness" of
the “Setting 3” in “Printer Features”.
2) When the focus of the print picture is loose (The contrast is weak), increase the value of "Contrast" of the
“Setting 3” in “Printer Features”.
The contrast becomes stronger.
