A. Introduction
TheMKSentryandCommandoCombinationsunitfactorybuiltassemblies
(FBA)areroutinetestedbyMKtotherequirementsofBSEN60439-3.The
performanceoftheroutine tests by MK Electric limited does not relieve the
installer of the FBA from the duty of checking the units after transport and
installation.
B. Safety Instructions
1. Itisessential that prior to installation or maintenance the user /installer
disconnectsthesupplybeforecommencingwork.
2. The factory built assembly should be installed by a competent person
(i.e.aqualifiedelectrician)inaccordancewiththeinstructions contained
withinthis leaflet, the SentryorCommandoCombination unit instructions,
any separate leaflet supplied for the DIN rail mounted devices and in
accordancewiththe current edition of the wiring regulations.
3. Itisessentialthat all connections are made as instructed, that cables are
notstressed.
4. Theinstallermust take the necessary precautions to ensure that theIP
ratingofthe unit is maintained, at the required level.
5. Wheretheunit is suppliedprewired,the installer shouldensurethat all the
connectionsare fully tightened.
6. Leaveallinstruction leaflets supplied with EndUser.(A wallet is provided
withSentryConsumerunits)
D. Installation Check List
Wheninstallationiscompletedmakesure all screws are securely tightened
including(whereapplicable) :-
1. Incomingsupplycableterminalscrews.
2. Outgoingsub/circuitterminalscrews.
3. Busbarscrews.
4. Neutrallink screws.
5. Neutralterminalbarscrews.
6. Earthterminalbarscrews.
7. Earthbarfixingscrews.
8. Externalearthterminalscrews.
9. DINrailmounting fixing screws.

C. RCD fitted units
A separate RCD instruction leaflet is provided with all MK Sentry and
Commando Combinations units fitted with an RCD. This leaflet provides
specific details for the installation and operation of the RCD.
The RCD unit must be regularly tested ( quarterly ) to ensure correct
operation.
