INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on the purchase of your new electric scooter! We want to make you happy and believe your new scooter
will bring you lots of fun.
We ask that you, please, read this manual thoroughly, paying special attention to the safety warnings before you start riding
your scooter.
Please, observe traffic regulations and do not lend your scooter to anyone who is unfamiliar with it. This product is designed
for use by a single person only; do not carry any additional passengers while riding. Please, check the limitations of using
this product according to the local regulations. The electric scooter can only be legally used on the road by a person aged
14 years and older.
For your safety, always wear shoes, helmet, and other protective gear while riding the scooter.
Practice in open space to become familiar with the control methods before riding. Test your brakes every time prior to using
the scooter and remember the scooter will not stop as quickly in wet or icy conditions as it would on a dry road.
Do not ride on an unsafe or unpaved road. Do not ride over bumps or stairs of more than 3 cm. If you approach rough or
uneven pavement, slow down and proceed with caution. Pay attention to the environment and weather conditions. Do not
ride the scooter in poor weather conditions, in darkness or with limited visibility, in temperatures under 5C (41F) or above
40C (104F).
Please, do not act dangerously while riding. Keep both hands on the handlebars and never ride singlehanded. Keep both
feet on the scooter’s platform.
NEVER drink alcohol and ride your electric scooter. The use of alcohol greatly reduces reflexes and limits your ability to ride
safely. Even a small amount of alcohol will limit your ability to be safe on the road.
e-JOE cares for the environment and encourages its customers to properly dispose of e-JOE products in accordance with
local regulations. When you need to dispose of a lithium-ion battery, please, either dispose of the unwanted battery through
an approved recycler or send it back to us and we will make sure it is properly recycled.
Happy riding!

ASSEMBLY
MOMAS Carbon folding electric scooter is shipped 99% assembled. In order to fully assemble the scooter and prepare it for
the first use, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Packing Material
Remove all packing and protective material and put aside. Do not discard the box or any shipping material until you test the
scooter and make certain it is in good working order.
Step 2: Frame & Handlebar Grips
Unfold the scooter’s frame and lock it as shown on page 9. Stand the main body of the electric scooter on a kickstand OR
lean it on the wall in case the scooter does not come with a kickstand (for 2016 and older models). Screw each handlebar
grip into each side of the main t-bar by rotating them towards the rear wheel (both grips screw in in the same direction
towards the rear wheel).
Step 3: Battery & LCD Display
Turn on/off the headlight switch by pressing and holding the button in the front of the head tube (above the light) to make
sure it functions properly. Turn on the LCD display by pressing the ON/OFF button on the right side of the t-bar. If it does
not turn on, fully charge the battery as instructed on page 8 and try again.

6
DISPLAY/THROTTLE/BRAKE
MOMAS carbon electric scooter is equipped with a multifunctional LCD display:
ON/OFF
To turn ON the display, press the power button (ON/OFF Switch) on the right side of the t-bar for one or two seconds.
Repeat the action to turn the power OFF. In ON state, the power supply goes from the battery to the controller. In OFF
state, the scooter is no longer using the power from the battery. If the scooter is not used for5minutes or more, the display
will turn off automatically.
BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL
When the battery is fully charged, the display shows 5 full segments on the top of the screen. When the battery levels are
empty and start to flash, the battery is under voltage and needs to be immediately charged.
Batteryvoltage
Flashing at low
voltage
GEARS
To change gears (or speed level) from 1 to 3, press the power button to set the desired speed level. The default setting is
level 1.
THROTTLE & BRAKE
The scooter has a safe-start function. The throttle will not work when the scooter is motionless, therefore, you will need to
generate power yourself (and build up voltage) before the throttle may be used. To activate the scooter, place one foot on
the ride board and the other foot on the ground. Using the foot on the ground, push forward to kick-start the ride, activate
the power supply, and enable the use of throttle to accelerate.
The throttle is located on the right side, while the brake lever is placed on the left side of the t-bar.
Precautions
●Press the levers gently and never brake too strongly or abruptly, as it will increase chances of falling down.
●Incline your body backward to reduce the influence of inertia.
●Before each ride check whether the braking function works properly.

7
BATTERYANDCHARGER
The battery is located inside the head tube of the scooter. When the battery is fully charged, the display shows 5 full
segments on the top of the screen. When the battery levels are empty and start to flash, the battery is under voltage and
needs to be immediately charged.
Charging Instructions:
Open the protection cover of the battery charge port on the head tube; connect the charger plug to the port. Plug the
charger into the electric outlet. The charging process is running when the LED light on the charger is lit red. The battery is
fully charged when the light changes from red to green.
Battery Precautions:
●Fully charge the battery before riding.
●IMPORTANT! When the scooter is not used, charge the battery at least once a month to prolong the battery life and
avoid critical discharge. Do not store the scooter with the battery charge level 2 or below. To preserve the life of
your battery, it is recommended that you do not leave your battery charging for periods longer than 48 hours.
●Store the scooter and the charger in a dry place with temperatures ranging from 5C to 40C (41-104F). The
temperatures outside of this range may harm the battery and reduce its life expectancy. Do not leave the scooter in
direct sunlight or rain – overheating can cause damage to the cells.
●Always charge the battery in a secure dry place where children cannot reach it.
●Do not use any other charger other than the one that came with your electric scooter. If you need another charger,
contact your local dealer or e-JOE Bike.
●Do not attempt to open or repair your battery or charger, the electronics contain high pressure circuits, so do not
dismantle by yourself without a professional.
●Avoid any contact with water while charging; prevent liquids, metal, and metal fillings from permeating the charger,
and be careful to not drop or hit the charger which could damage its components.
●Do not put anything on top of the charger while charging; it must be well ventilated to allow the heat that is
generated to dissipate.
●Stop charging the battery immediately if you notice a peculiar smell, spark or the charger gets too hot to touch.
●It is normal that the distance range will reduce as a result of the normal degradation of battery cells, exposure to low
or high temperatures.
●When you need to dispose of a lithium-ion battery, either dispose of the unwanted battery through an approved
recycler or send it to e-JOE and we will make sure it is properly recycled. Never dispose of batteries in a fire
because they may explode.

FOLDINGINSTRUCTIONS
MOMAS Carbon electric scooter can be folded for easy storage and transportation.
UNFOLDING (OPENING)
1. Check the safety lock on the right side of the scooter’s folding mechanism. If the safety lock is inserted, pull it out to
allow the scooter to unfold.
2. Hold the scooter with one hand on the handlebar grip, and with the other hand on the tail part of the ride board
perpendicular to the ground.
3. Push the unlocking lever under the ride board with one foot as shown on the picture below and unfold the scooter.
You should hear a “click” sound which means the scooter has fully unfolded.
4. Check the safety lock on the right side of the scooter’s folding mechanism and make sure it is inserted this time. If
the safety lock is still out of its slot, insert it in order to lock the scooter and avoid accidental folding.

9

2. Hold the scooter with both hands on the handles.
3. Step on the folding latch with one foot.
4. Fold the scooter by either lifting the tail part of the ride board or by lowering the head tube onto the board.
5. Secure the safety lock by inserting it back in the slot to avoid accidental unfolding.
NOTE: Always remember to check the safety lock before and after folding or unfolding the scooter. Accidental
folding/unfolding of the scooter during the ride or transportation can cause serious damage to the rider, people around, and
the product itself.

10
GENERALOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Before you ride your scooter for the first time, please, make absolutely certain that it has been correctly assembled. You can
do this either by taking it to your nearest bicycle shop or if you are proficient in mechanics you can do the inspection
yourself. You must make certain you have the handlebars, and other items correctly fitted.
Test your brakes every time prior to using the scooter and remember the scooter will not stop as quickly in wet or icy
conditions as it would on a dry road.
Assuming you have protective gear and that MOMAS scooter has been placed on a level surface, is unfolded and well
charged, and does not have any issues, follow the instructions below. For your safety, please carefully read this entire
section before attempting to ride.
FOOT POSITION
Before riding, place one foot to the front of the ride board/platform, and the other foot on the ground. Make sure that there
are no obstacles, bumps, people or pets in the direction where you intend to go. Check the safety lock and make sure it is
inserted in the slot. Turn on the LCD display. Place both hands on the handles. Start the ride by kicking off the ground with
the foot that is on the ground. Place the foot on the platform behind the other; it will help you gain more balance. Once the
scooter reaches approximately 1 mph (2km/h), press the throttle to start powered acceleration.
TURNS
Before turning, look at the approaching direction and make sure turning is safe. Slowly turn the handlebars and lean to the
desired direction to turn the front wheel. Do not turn fast or abruptly as it may cause you to fall.
BRAKING
Tilt your weight backwards so that the brake action comes through the feet and not through the handlebar and steering
system. It is best to learn how to adjust the center of gravity and balance during stopping or braking to ensure safe riding.
•Keep both hands on the handlebars and never ride singlehanded. Keep both feet on the scooter’s platform. Keep your
knees and elbows slightly bent and head raised.
•Do not ride on an unsafe or unpaved road. Do not ride over bumps or stairs of more than 3 cm. If you approach rough
or uneven pavement, slow down and proceed with caution.
•NEVER use a mobile device while riding.
•Pay attention to the environment and weather conditions. Do not ride the scooter in bad weather conditions, in darkness
or with limited visibility, in temperatures under 5C (41F) or above 40C (104F).
•Please, do not act dangerously while riding. Respect passers-by without scaring or pushing them. When you approach
someone, slow down and proceed with caution. When you are in a crowd, slow down and ride at the same speed as
pedestrians until you are certain the path is clear. Always keep a safe distance from people, cars, and objects.
•It is recommended to ride the scooter with the display ON even when you do not intend to use the throttle.
•When riding your e-scooter and when the battery power is low, it is recommended to push your e-scooter as much as
possible and get the battery charged up as soon as you get to an electrical outlet.
•To help get the best distance out of your electric scooter, refrain from unnecessary braking and coast as much as
possible.
•NEVER drink alcohol and ride your electric scooter. The use of alcohol greatly reduces reflexes and limits your ability to
ride safely. Even a small amount of alcohol will limit your ability to be safe on the road.
•Turn off the power when parking.

Safety Precautions:
MOMAS Carbon electric scooter is a personal scooter that uses electric power. This technology cannot prevent injury if you
do not use the product as indicated in this manual. By riding a scooter, the user acknowledges and accepts the
responsibility of all risks associated with the use of the MOMAS Carbon electric scooter which may include, but are not
limited to, muscle injuries, broken bones, lacerations, serious injury, and possible death, which may be sustained while
using the MOMAS Scooter.
MAINTENANCE
Like any other mean of transportation, electric scooter and its components are subject to wear and tear. The rate of wear
depends on care and maintenance and the way of use (mileage, terrain, weather conditions, etc.). The use of a scooter in
competitive events, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain/climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities and
other types of non-standard use can dramatically shorten the life of the scooter and its components. Be sure to use your
scooter for its intended purpose only and to follow the maintenance instructions.
●To keep the best performance, clean the scooter regularly. Before cleaning, make sure the scooter is powered off
and not connected to the charger. Dip soft cloth is a small amount of water and wipe the head tube, ride platform,
and tires. To avoid corrosion, wipe the scooter with a dry cloth afterwards and store it in a dry location. Do not wash
the scooter with alcohol, gas, diesel, acetone, or other corrosive and volatile chemical solvent. These substances
can severely damage the surface and the components of the scooter.
●IMPORTANT! Do not attempt to open the casings of the battery, LCD display, motor, or controller; it could be
dangerous and will void any warranties by doing so. If you experience a problem, please contact our service
department or your local retailer.
●The tires and wheels get hot after use. Do not touch these parts after a ride and be sure to allow some time for the
parts to cool down before attempting the service.
●Leaving a scooter standing in the open and/or not using it for longer periods of time (more than 3 months) may be
subject to increased wear through weathering and deterioration. Keep the scooter in a dry location with no direct
sunlight.
●You should have your scooter and its components checked periodically by your dealer for indicators of stress
and/or potential failure, including cracks, corrosion, deformation, dents, paint peeling, and any other indicators of
potential problems, inappropriate use or abuse. These checks are important to ensure all components function
safely and reliably and to help prevent any accidents or injuries to the rider.
WATER
•Your electric scooter is rain and splash resistant. Please, use caution; do not operate your scooter under very
bad/heavy weather conditions.
●The electric components MUST NOT be submerged in water.
●To prevent rust or corrosion, dry off scooter and components after riding in wet weather and store scooter and
charger in a dry location.
●To avoid electric shock and damage to your product, do not charge the device while it is wet or in an area where it
could get wet. Do not handle scooter, charger or cords with wet hands while charging.
