satellites to calculate precise locations anywhere in the world and a GSM SIM card for
communicating with your smart mobile phone, mobile app and the PC website.

QUICK SET-UP GUIDE
1. Insert a GSM SIM card (Do not insert with the tracker turned on or power lead connected)
2. Charge the battery - approx’ 8~12 hours
Whilst it’s charging, you can set it up and get it working
3. Press ON/OFF button for a few seconds until LED’s light – outdoors or near a window

LED’s will start to flash when GPS satellites and GSM signals have been located - usually
approximately 40~60 seconds
5.
Pair your mobile phone to the tracker by sending this text message;
admin123456 xxxxxxxxxx (xxxxxxxxx is your mobile phone number)
Tracker replies: admin okay
6. To test GSM & GPS location, send this location request text message:-

Tracker replies:-
•Google link: click link, opens the phones map to
show location. No data means no positioning.

TRACKER OPERATION
SIM CARD INSTALLATION
Make sure that the SIM card is operating by testing in a mobile phone.
Do not insert SIM card with power charger connected – you could damage the SIM card.
Do not activate call transfer.
Make sure that any SIM card PIN code is turned off.
Do not hide your mobile phones identity.
Keep SIM credit up to date – make a note of the top-up date.
PT800
• Carefully lift up the SIM card/charger rubber cover – DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER.
• Insert the SIM card correctly, as shown. It will click into place.
• Fully replace the rubber cover to ensure water seal.
• This tracker is only water resistant to IP65 with the cover in place – do not submerge.
PT860 & PT880
• With the screwdriver provided, remove the back cover.
• Insert the SIM card correctly, as shown.
• Fully replace the cover – ensure screws have their sealing washers.
• PT860 is waterproof to 1 metre. (IPX-6)
• PT880 is waterproof/resistant. (IP65)

THE PET COLLAR for PT800
The supplied universal collar suits most average
sized pets.
It is normally used only when the pet is required
to be monitored.
If your pet requires a different sized collar,
please visit your pet store, with the GPS tracker,
so you can purchase one more suitable to both
GPS tracker and your pet.
ON-LINE GPS TRACKING
This tracker can automatically send its location to the mobile APP and website via the GSM data
network. This data transmission system is called GPRS
(Global Packet Radio System) . This system uses
inexpensive data – not text messages.
The information is stored on the website so the history can be re-played at any time.
Your GSM SIM card must therefore have the ability, and credit, for text messages and data.
TURN ON GPRS
To start data transmission to the APP and website, send this text message:- gprs123456
DOWNLOAD THE MOBILE PHONE APP
Go to your app store, Android or IOS, and search & download:- TKSTAR GPS
Open the APP and select: ‘Log in by IMEI’

Save the page in your computers favourites.
The international website will open in Chinese.
Select your chosen language by clicking on the corresponding flag.
The next time you go to the website, it will default to your chosen language.
Select: “Log in by IMEI”

After logging in, your tracker should now be reporting to the website and APP.
Please explore and try out the many features.
The tracker and NZ SIM cards will automatically configure to the website and APP.
If there is no data to be seen, please check previous set-ups and read the next section on
setting the ‘APN’.
Mobile network APN
APN (Access Point Name) is the address of your SIM card data channel.
In New Zealand both Vodafone and 2 Degrees have their APN built into their SIM cards so the
address is automatically configured. Location data is then automatically sent via them to the
APP & website. You do not have to programme the APN.
If using a different mobile provider, such as when overseas, or data is not seen on the APP or
website, you may have to set the APN.
Send the following text;

For the tracking device to operate, your SIM card must have sufficient credit for voice, text
and data.
IP Address and Port #
The IP address and port # of the website and APP is pre-configured during manufacture.

can be re-programmed.
Send the following text;

HOW TO TRACK – WHERE IS IT NOW ?
If you pet does go missing or you simply wish to know where
it is, here are the 4 ways;
TEXT REQUEST
Send this text:- g123456#
The tracker will now reply with a text message.
Tap the text message and your phones maps open to
show the location.
PHONE CALL
Make a phone call to the tracker. (only from the paired
mobile phone)
Cellular secretary will answer, hang up immediately.
The tracker will now send you a text message.
Tap the text message and your phones maps open to
show the location.
APP
Open the APP on your mobile phone.
Click on ‘Real time’.
The phone will now show a map with the location of the
GPS tracker together with the last reported time.
WEBSITE
Log onto to the website.
A map will be displayed with the location.
APP & WEBSITE
The APP and website offer a wide range of features;
 Real-time tracking
 Historical movement
 Geo-fence settings
 Device information
The APP and website are linked so any changes are reflected
by the other.
NOTE: The APP and website are released for international use
with many types of GPS trackers.
Not all features and functions are applicable.

BATTERY CHARGING - Before use, please fully charge the battery.
On first use, the mains charger will take approximately 12 hours.
Subsequent re-charging will take up to 5 hours depending on state of charge.
There are two methods of charging the trackers battery;
Mains with USB lead (faster) or USB socket in a motor vehicle or computer (slower).
When fully charged, the battery should last approximately 7 days in sleep mode.
With GPRS ‘on’ and reporting every 5 minutes, battery life from full is approximately 3 days.
Low battery alert: The tracker will send a text alert when battery power drops to 40%.
We recommend charging the battery each time the collar/tracker is removed from your pet.
TURNING ON - outdoors or very near a window if indoors to get satellite reception
• Press and hold the button until LED’s light.
• Within 60 seconds, the unit will lock onto the GSM and GPS signals and start to flash.
(Turning on indoors can result in no GPS reception – blue LED stays on)

COMMANDS EXPLAINED
TIME ZONE
So that the tracker can report accurate time and date, the time zone must be set. Time is set by
how many hours you are ahead of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Allow for daylight savings.
GPRS
GPRS is data transmission of tracker locations to the APP and website. The SIM card used must
therefore be capable of voice, text and data.
GPRS transmission can be turned on or off if you wish to control SIM card expenditure.
PASSWORD
The default password is 123456. This may be changed to any 6 digit number. If you change the
password and later forget it, the tracker will need to be re-set to factory defaults and then be re-
programmed. To avoid this, we suggest you do not change the password as the longer SIM number is
a password in itself.

GEO-FENCE – restricting range of travel
You can set an area of permitted travel by setting an invisible boundary (a ‘geo-fence’). This is set from
either the APP or website.
A geo-fence is defined by a centre-point with a permitted radius of travel. This can be from a minimum of
100 metres to a maximum of 999.9 kilometres .
If the tracker moves outside this permitted area, it will send a text alert to the paired mobile phones.
SLEEP & SLEEP BY SHOCK MODES
To preserve battery power, the tracker will sleep (LED’s do not flash) if it detects no movement for 10
minutes. It will automatically wake up if it receives a command or detects a shock.
The ‘Sleep’ & ‘Sleep by shock’ commands force the tracker to sleep rather than wait 10 minutes.

SPEED ALERT
A speed limit can be set between 50~120kph. Speeding over the set speed limit will send a text alert to
your mobile phone. This feature can be turned on or off.
MOVE ALERT
When the tracker has been in a stationary position for more than 3 minutes, a ‘move’ command can be
sent setting a permitted radius of travel. This can be set between 100~5000m. Movement outside this
radius will send a text alert to your mobile phone. This feature can be turned on or off.
SOS
To summon help press the SOS button (PT860/880) on the tracker for a minimum of 5 seconds. The
paired phone user and those programmed to receive SOS alerts will receive a text alert.
Monitor mode
The GPS tracker has a built in microphone.
Monitor mode allows you to make a telephone call to the tracker and listen to what is happening around it.
The tracker itself makes no noise and no vibration when you call it, so it is covert.
Sound quality and volume will depend on where the tracker is situated.
When in ‘monitor mode’, GPS tracking is not possible.
Tracker mode
This command cancels ‘monitor mode’ and returns the unit to GPS tracking.
Cautions:
1. Keep the unit dry to extend product life - Always insert the rubber cover over SIM slot and charging port
2. Clean with dry cloth. Do not clean with chemicals or detergent, etc.
3. Do not paint the unit or apply metal foil stickers.
4. Do not disassemble, tamper or attempt any repair.
5. Please use the battery and charger provided. Using other chargers will void warranties.
6. Tampering, abuse and misuse with the unit will void any warranties.
NOTES: Use of this product or features may infringe the rights orinvade the privacy of others.
The use of mobile GSM transmitting/receiving devices, such as this GPS tracker, may be restricted in certain locations,
especially aircraft or hospitals or other forbidden locations. It is your responsibility to ensure correct and permitted usage.
We are not responsible for the non-operation of this product should GPS, GSM or GPRS signals not be available or be able to
be received.
