PT890 GPS VEHICLE TRACKER
Thank you for choosing Mongoose as your GPS tracking provider.
The tracker itself, the mobile APP and the 24/7 online website are self managed, therefore there are no fees apart from your trackers
mobile SIM card charges.
We do however provide telephone assistance to our customers during normal office hours Monday to Friday.

How it all works;
GPS satellites are in a fixed orbit above the earth are used to find the vehicles precise location within a few metres.
Note: Accuracy is outdoors. Inside a building or heavy overcast weather will affect correct operation and accuracy.
The tracker is installed with a GSM SIM card and, via the mobile data network, the tracker automatically sends its location to the website.
The website saves the data for up to 12 months at a time. The data continually revolves thereby always maintaining the last 12 months
history for you.
The mobile APP is used to display the information stored on the website.
The APP is also used to control and programme the tracker.
The tracker, APP and website work seamlessly together with virtually no delay in operation.
Your GSM SIM card must therefore have the ability, and credit, for voice, text messages and data.
How to get it working – 5 quick and simple steps ;
1. Pair your mobile phone
2. Set the current time
3. Set the upload frequency (how often to report the vehicle location)
4. Download the mobile APP
5. Log onto the online website

DOWNLOAD THE MOBILE APP ONTO YOUR PHONE
On your smartphone, Android or IOS, and download:- TKSTAR GPS
1. Open the APP and select: ‘Log in by IMEI’ at bottom right of screen
2. Enter server details: www.zg666gps.com
3. IMEI: Input the IMEI (serial number) printed on the tracker & carton
4. Password: 123456 (default – can be changed, see page 8)
Select ‘
device info ’ and complete;
• Device name – choose your own
• Vehicle registration number
• Device phone number – the trackers SIM mobile phone number
• Contact - your name
• Contact number - your mobile phone number
LOGON TO THE WEBSITE
1. Go to:- www.zg666gps.com
2. Save the page in your computers favourites.
3. The website will open in Chinese.
4. Select your chosen language by clicking on the corresponding flag.
The screen changes to selected language
5. Select: “ Log in by IMEI ”
6. IMEI: The number printed on the tracker & carton
7. Password: 123456 (default number)
Your computer should remember your logon details for future logons.
If you have multiple trackers, please apply to Mongoose for a ‘user’ account. This allows you to logon and see all your
trackers at the same time.
HOW TO FIND YOUR TRACKER – 4 WAYS :-

The APP is a powerful tool that we ask you to explore its many features. It is used to find out where the tracker is and where it has been
by replaying ‘history’. It is also used to control every aspect of the tracker. Open the APP on your mobile phone. The menu system is user
friendly and is intuitive.

BATTERY BACK-UP
An internal battery is charged once connected to your vehicle.
It provides 2~3 hours back-up in the event the vehicle battery is disconnected.
TIME ZONE
So that the tracker can report accurate time and date, the time zone must be set.
Time is set by how many hours you are ahead of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
Allow for daylight savings.
NOTE: The mobile APP is international does not allow for NZ daylight saving – use text message

PASSWORD
The default password is 123456.
This may be changed to any 6 digit number. Must be 6 digits.
FREQUENCY OF REPORTING
You can set how often the tracker reports when moving or when it is stationary.
Typically, 20~30 seconds is used when moving as this gives a good map plot when history is viewed.
60 seconds is commonly used when not moving but with the engine running.
Set you own times to suit your requirements and data usage.
ENGINE IMMOBILISATION
The tracker has the ability to immobilise the engine.
We only recommend installers immobilise the starter motor as this does not affect the safe operation of the vehicle…….it just prevents the
starting of the engine.
If fuel or ignition is immobilised and the command is sent when the vehicle is being driven, this product is designed to safely slow a vehicle
down. The tracker will pulse the circuit off and on 20 times within 1 minute finally resulting in an open circuit.
If the text is sent with the ignition off, immobilisation is immediate with no pulsing.
ARM
‘Arm’ means that you will receive alerts if any of the following occur;
a. A geo-fenced area has been breached
b. Vibration sensor activated
c. Vehicle has been ‘moved’
d. Ignition has been turned on
e. Main power has been disconnected
The tracker is ‘armed’, with ignition off, with a simple text message:- 111 or by using the APP
The reply may be:- GSM:2Power:7 Arm delay in 0s
eg: GSM is signal strength 1 = strong 5 = weak. Power is percentage.
Before driving, disarm the tracker to prevent the tracker sending you false alerts.
DISARMING
It is disarmed with:- 000 or by using the APP
AUTOMATIC DELAYED ARMING
The system will arm automatically 10 minutes after ignition off.
Set by text message or APP: auto1 Reply: Auto arm - standby 10 mins: ON

GEO-FENCE
A geo-fence is a fixed location with an invisible boundary.
This boundary can have a minimum radius of 100m to a maximum of 999km. (200~300m is usual)
If the tracker moves outside this area, it will send a text alert to the paired mobile phones.
You will also receive an alert when it re-enters the area.
Multiple geo-fences can be set, for instance, around your home, your place of work, usual parking places,
shopping centres, friend’s houses, etc.
Geo-fences are set from either the APP or website.
MOVE ALERT (when armed)
This is similar to geo-fence but is not at a fixed location. When the tracker has been in a stationary
position for more than 3 minutes, a ‘move’ command can be sent setting a permitted radius of travel.
This can be set between 100~5000m.
Movement outside this radius will send a text alert to your mobile phone.
This feature should be turned on at the desired location and must be turned off before you drive away.
NOTE: If ‘move alert’ is on, then geo-fence is automatically off.
VIBRATION (SHOCK) ALERT (when armed)
The tracker has a built-in motion sensor that detects vibrations.
When ‘armed’, as detailed above, a vibration will cause the tracker to send you an alert.
These alerts can be a either a text message, a phone call or both.
See the programming chart for details.
The length of vibration can be adjusted so as to avoid possible false alerts.
IGNITION ALERT (when armed)
When armed, if the ignition of the vehicle is turned on, you will receive an ‘ACC’ alert, both SMS & ring.
SPEED ALERT
A speed limit can be set between 50~300kph.
Speeding over the set speed limit will send a text alert to your mobile phone.
MAIN POWER ALERT
If the main power to the tracker is disconnected, the tracker will send an alert to your mobile phone, both SMS & ring.
VIBRATION ALERTS
Alerts can either be text messages, a phone call or both.
These are set by the ‘vib’ command as shown on the command chart.
This command is only applicable to vibration/shock and not to the other alert types.

Most of the tracker functions can be controlled from within the APP under ‘ issue command ’ and ‘ alarm setting ’.
We suggest you explore the APP’s features and try them out.

Installation – Read this manual to familiarize yourself with its features and functions
If unfamiliar with vehicle electrics, we advise professional installation.
Wiring connections should be bare wire soldered and insulated.
We do not advise the use of wiring clips such as Scotchlocks.
SIM CARD INSTALLATION
Make sure that the GSM SIM card is operational (activated with its supplier) by testing in a mobile phone. It cannot be activated
when inside the tracker.
•Do not insert SIM card with power cable connected – you could damage the SIM card.
•Do not activate call transfer.
•Make sure that any SIM card PIN code is turned off.
•Do not hide your mobile phones identity.
•Keep SIM credit up to date – make a note of the top-up date.
Add this SIM to your phones ‘contacts’, such as “GPS TRACKER” so you know where alerts have come from.
SIM CARD
•Carefully lift up the SIM card/USB charger rubber cover
•DO NOT REMOVE THE DUST/WATER COVER.
•Insert the SIM card correctly, as shown. It will click into place.
•Fully replace the rubber cover to ensure a good seal.
SIM card & the battery back-up
When the SIM card is inserted, it turns on the internal battery which is used for a 2~3 hour back-up power supply.
If disconnecting the tracker, for whatever reason, remove the SIM card to avoid flattening the internal battery.
Non-removal causing a continual discharge may cause damage to the internal battery causing it not to charge.
This tracker is supplied with an engine immobiliser relay.
We advise interrupting the starter motor so the vehicle cannot be started next time.
If the ignition is off, immobilisation is immediate. If the ignition is on, this product turns the chosen circuit on and off 20 times
within one minute. If interrupting the fuel pump is chosen, this will have the effect of slowing the vehicle down.
Apart from providing accurate GPS locations, this product can also prevent theft of a vehicle due to its various alerts and engine
immobilisation. It should therefore be hidden from tampering.
1. Don't put the tracker close to other emission sources, such as alarms and other electronic vehicle equipment.
2. You can attach the tracker with a cable tie or fix with Velcro pad supplied.
3. The tracker has both GSM and GPS antennas inside. The GPS antenna needs to be able to receive signals from many GPS
satellites for accuracy.
4. Make sure the reception side of GPS is upward (patterned side) and there is no metal above shielding the tracker.
5. A good hidden area is under the dashboard below the front windshield or below rear parcel shelf.
6. Once SIM card is inserted, plug in the loom and park outdoors to get good GPS reception.
7. Verify operation by looking at the LED’s under the rubber cover.
Cautions:
1. Keep the unit dry to extend product life.
2. Always insert the rubber cover over SIM slot
3. Clean with dry cloth. Do not clean with chemicals or detergent, etc.
4. Do not paint the unit or apply metal foil stickers.
5. Do not disassemble, tamper or attempt any repair.
6. Tampering, abuse and misuse with the unit will void any warranties.
7. If disconnecting the tracker for whatever reason, remove the SIM card to avoid flattening the battery back-up.

MAIN WIRING
Immobiliser relay wiring – only fit if required
Mongoose only recommends the immobilisation of the starter circuit to prevent engine starting as this is the safest method.
The stopping of an engine whilst being driven may have dangerous consequences for which the installer/vehicle owner/tracker
user may be liable.
Connection to a car alarm siren.
There is no defined input from a car alarm siren. However, it can be connected to the ignition input wire so that the user can get an
alert text message.
Alerts will be the same as ‘ACC alert’
For (+) positive siren connection
No relay required, connect siren trigger wire to orange wire. Use diodes to prevent ignition sounding the siren and the siren turning the
ignition on. See below.
For (-) negative siren connection
Use a suitable low impedance miniature relay, not supplied, to convert negative siren output to positive. Connect as above.
