6ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
WARNING This appliance must be properly
grounded.

requirea4-conductorUL-listedrangecord.

Werecommendyouhavetheelectricalwiringand
hookupofyourrangeconnectedbyaqualified
electrician.Afterinstallation,havetheelectricianshow
youhowtodisconnectpowerfromtherange.
Youmustuseasingle-phase,120/208VACor
120/240VAC,60hertzelectricalsystem.Ifyou
connecttoaluminumwiring,properlyinstalled
connectorsapprovedforusewithaluminumwiring
must be used.
EffectiveJanuary1,1996,theNationalElectrical
Coderequiresthatnewconstruction(notexisting)
utilizea4-conductorconnectiontoanelectricrange.
Wheninstallinganelectricrangeinnewconstruction,
mobilehome,recreationalvehicle,oranareawhere
local codes prohibit grounding through the neutral
conductor,refertothesectiononfour-conductor
branch circuit connections.
Checkwithyourlocalutilitiesforelectricalcodeswhich
applyinyourarea.Failuretowireyourovenaccording
togoverningcodescouldresultinahazardous
condition.Iftherearenolocalcodes,yourovenmust
bewiredandfusedtomeettheNationalElectrical
Code,NFPANo.70–latestedition,availablefromthe
NationalFireProtectionAssociation.
Thisappliancemustbesuppliedwiththeproper
voltageandfrequency,andconnectedtoanindividual,
properlygrounded,(50ampfor48”ranges,30amp
for36”and30”ranges)branch circuit protected by a
circuitbreakerortime-delayfuse.
Useonlya3-conductorora4-conductorUL-listed
rangecord.Thesecordsmaybeprovidedwithring
terminalsonwireandastrainreliefdevice.

Arangecordratedat40ampswith125/250minimum
voltrangeisrequired.A50amprangecordisnot
recommendedbutifused,itshouldbemarkedfor
usewithnominal13⁄8”diameterconnectionopenings.
Careshouldbetakentocenterthecableandstrain
reliefwithintheknockoutholetokeeptheedgefrom
damaging the cable.
NOTE:Useofautomatic,wirelessorwiredexternal
switchesthatshutoffpowertotheappliances,arenot
recommended for this product.

4-WIRE POWER CORD
INSTALLATION
NOTE:A4-wirecordisconnectedtotherangeatthe
factory.Usethefollowingstepstochangeanexisting
installationfroma3-wirecordbacktoa4-wirecord.
WARNING Theneutralwireofthesupplycircuit
must be connected to the neutral terminal located
inthelowercenteroftheterminalblock.Thepower
leadsmustbeconnectedtothelowerleftandthe
lowerrightterminalsoftheterminalblock.The4th
grounding lead must be connected to the frame of the
rangewiththegroundplateandthegroundscrew.
■Removethe3lowerterminalscrewsfromthe
terminalblock.Removethegroundscrewand
ground plate and retain them.
■Removethegroundstrap.
DO NOT DISCARD THE GROUND STRAP OR
ANY SCREWS.
■Inserttheonegroundscrewintothepowercord
groundwireterminalring,throughthegroundplate
and into the frame of the range.
The access
plate is on
thebackof
the range.
