Before first use
Introduction
48547 rev1_Layout 1 18/04/2012 09:41 Page 5

The Dough Hooks (6) will only work correctly
when inserted into the correct Sockets (4). The
grey colour coded spindle on the Dough Hooks
should be inserted into the Socket marked with
the arrow on the mixer.
•When making dough, first mix the dry ingredients,
oils, fats or butter, with the beaters for
approximately 30 seconds on speed 4 until they
form breadcrumbs. Change to the dough hooks
and gradually add the water using speed 4.
Change to speed 2 to knead the dough for
approximately 1 minute.
•Hand mixers specialise in recipes such as dough
and batter mixes. The way the twin beaters work
allows air to be folded into a mixture so it will
create light and fluffy batters, and thin and light
creams.
•Lower speeds are more commonly used with a
hand mixer, thier uses ranging from batter to
cream, to mixing pastry ingredients. The higher
speeds tend only to be used for lighter, thinner
mixtures such as cake batter or egg whites, but
this should always be reached by gradually
increasing the speed, rather than suddenly
setting the hand mixer to high.
•Before cleaning, switch the hand mixer off and
unplug from the mains.
•Remove and wash the Beaters (5) and Dough
Hooks (6) in warm soapy water and dry well.
•Wipe the mixer with a damp cloth. Do not use
any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.
Do not immerse in water
•The Beaters and Dough Hooks are not
dishwasher safe.
WARNING: Never immerse the mixer in water or
other liquid.
