If your cleaner is not picking up as well as it should, please check:
Dustbags
It is important to replace them when full, otherwise the performance of
the cleaner will be impaired. The dustbag compartment lid will not close
unless the dustbag is fitted correctly. See ‘Replacing the dustbag’.
Filters
It is important that the filters are cleaned every time you change the
dustbag. Replace the filters every 5 dustbag changes, otherwise the
performance of the cleaner will be impaired. See ‘Cleaning the filters’.
Blockages
Check the nozzle, tubes and hose for blockages.

guarantee invalid.

cord, plug or cleaner in
water or other liquid.

Product safety

• Never modify the cleaner in

Children
• Children do not understand
the dangers associated
with operating electrical
appliances. Never allow
children to use this
appliance.
• Children should be
supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the
appliance , or stumble over
the power cord.
ELECTRICAL
REQUIREMENTS
Check that the voltage on
the rating plate of your
appliance corresponds with
your house electricity
supply which must be A.C.
(Alternating Current).
If the socket outlets in your
home are not suitable for
the plug supplied with this
appliance, the plug should
be removed and the
appropriate one fitted.
If you cut off the plug and
let go of the cable, it will
rewind into the machine,
therefore, you must pull out
a length of cable and
secure it before cutting the
plug off and re-fitting a new
one.
WARNING: The plug
removed from the mains
lead, if severed, must be
destroyed, as a plug with
a bared flexible cord is
hazardous if engaged
into a live socket outlet.
Should the fuse in the 13
amp plug require changing,
a 13 amp BS1362 fuse
must be fitted.

OPERATING THE
APPLIANCE
1Assemble the nozzle, tubes and
hose as shown in ‘Features’.
2Pull out the cable to it’s full
length and plug in to the mains
supply.
3Switch on by pressing the on/off
Eco Switch.
OPERATION
Accessories
1Fit the hose to the cleaner by
inserting the hose end into the
hose inlet ‡ A.
2To remove, press the release
button down on the hose and
pull out.
3Attach the extension tubes ¤ to
the hose handle which features
an airflow control which can be
adjusted as required.
4Attach the combination floor
nozzle to the extension tubes.
The floor nozzle fihas a pedal
to switch between two
positions:
• Brush up for carpets, rugs etc.
• Brush down for hard floors, tiles
etc.
5The other accessories include:
• Crevice tool ›for awkward
places, behind radiators etc.
• Brush attachment ‹for
pelmets, delicate objects etc.
This attaches to the crevice tool.
To alternate between the brush
and crevice tool, push the
button down and slide B.
Tools storage
The crevice tool and brush can
be stored on the tubes for
added convenience.
Product storage C
When finished, you can store
the vacuum cleaner as shown
by inserting the hook on the
floor nozzle into the slot on the
cleaner body.
Turbo nozzle È
(certain models only)
This nozzle is suitable for
cleaning and rejuvenating cut
pile carpets and is ideal for
picking up stubborn dirt and pet
hairs.
Cleaning the turbo
nozzle (certain models only)
The turbo nozzle should be
regularly cleaned and any hairs
or fibres wrapped around the
brush bar removed to maintain
optimum performance.
Using the stair and
hair tool
Attach the stair tool Í to the
hose handle ⁄ or extension
tubes ¤for effective stair
cleaning.
Attach the hair tool Î to the
stair tool for fantastic pet hair
pick-up.

CONTROLS
Power -
On/Off Eco Switch
NOTE: The Eco Switch allows
you to turn down the power
when cleaning more delicate
items such as curtains and
upholstery, saving energy and
reducing running costs.
To switch the cleaner on, press
the on/off Eco Switch ‰
inwards. To switch off, press the
on/off switch again.
The suction power can be
adjusted using this switch again.
Turn the switch to the desired
level D.
Suction may also be varied with
the fingertip control on the
handle:
Closed: full suction
Open: reduced suction
Automatic cable
rewind
After use, unplug and press the
cable rewind button Âto retract
the cable.
WARNING: When using the
cable rewind, always hold
the plug as the cable will
rewind quickly.
DUSTBAG
Dustbag condition
indicator
If the suction power decreases
or if the dustbag condition
indicator shows fully red, then
the bag must be emptied
immediately and/or the motor
protection filter cleaned - even if
the bag does not appear full.
This will also occur if the nozzle,
tubes or hose have become
blocked.
• The dustbag indicator may
occasionally show red during
use - this is quite normal.
Replacing the
dustbag
To obtain the best results from
your cleaner, be sure to check
and change the dustbag
regularly, otherwise the airflow
and cleaning power of your
cleaner will be reduced and you
may damage your cleaner.
1Lift the dust compartment lid
‚.
2Pull the dustbag retaining clip
forward to release. Carefully lift
the dustbag clear of the cleaner
and dispose of the dustbag.
3To fit the new dustbag, first
place the bottom end of the
dustbag collar into the guide
slot at the bottom of the
dustbag compartment, then pull
the collar forward until it locates
into the securing clip E.
4The arrow on the collar of the
dustbag must point downwards
when fitting F.
NOTE: The dustbag
compartment lid will not close
unless the dustbag is fitted
correctly.
IMPORTANT:
• All filters should be checked
regularly for signs of damage,
preferably after each cleaning
task. The filters must be
replaced immediately if they
become damaged.
• Always disconnect the cleaner
from the mains when checking
filters or replacing the dustbag.
• Always make sure the dustbag,
grill and filters are fitted before
use. Failure to do so may result
in damage to your product.

FILTERS
Motor filter
The motor filter must be
cleaned every time the bag is
changed to remove the fine dust
particles collected. This can be
done by shaking it.
However, after approximately 5
dustbag changes, the filter
should be replaced.
The motor filter is found behind
the dustbag. Remove the filter
grill, press the centre tab and
pull out G. Pull out the filter H,
shake to clean and replace. The
grill must be replaced after the
filter has been cleaned.
Exhaust filter
The exhaust filter must be
cleaned every time the bag is
changed to remove the fine dust
particles collected. This can be
done by shaking it.
However, after approximately 5
dustbag changes, the filter
should be replaced.
The exhaust filter is located
behind the exhaust filter cover
Á. To remove, unclip the cover
and remove the filter Iand
clean and replace.
HINTS & TIPS
Cleaning and
maintenance
Your cleaner is manufactured to
withstand normal day-to-day
use, but an occasional wipe
over will help maintain it’s good
looks. Abrasive cleaners should
not be used.

Use only Morphy Richards
replacement dustbags and
filters which can be purchased
from specialist retailers or by
calling the number below.

It is important to retain the
retailer’s receipt as proof of
purchase. Staple your receipt to
this back cover for future
reference.
Please quote the following
information if the product
develops a fault. These numbers
can be found on the base of the
product.

Serial no.
All Morphy Richards products
are individually tested before
leaving the factory. In the unlikely
event of any appliance proving
to be faulty within 28 days of
purchase, it should be returned
to the place of purchase for it to
be replaced.
If the fault develops after 28
days and within 24 months of
original purchase, you should
contact the Helpline number
quoting Model number and
Serial number on the product, or
write to Morphy Richards at the
address shown.
You may be asked to return a
copy of proof of purchase.
Subject to the exclusions set out
below (see Exclusions), the
faulty appliance will then be
repaired or replaced and
dispatched usually within 7
working days of receipt.
If you suspect a fault, follow the
simple checks detailed below
before retrying the appliance or
calling the helpline.
• Check the filters for blockages.
• Check the tools / tubes for
blockages.
• Check the plug is firmly in the
socket.
• Check the socket is working by
trying another appliance.
• Check the fuse in the plug.
If, for any reason, this item is
replaced during the 2 year
guarantee period, the guarantee
on the new item will be
calculated from the original
purchase date. Therefore, it is
vital to retain your original till
receipt or invoice to indicate the
date of initial purchase.
To qualify for the 2 year
guarantee, the appliance must
have been used according to the
instructions supplied.
EXCLUSIONS
Morphy Richards shall not be
liable to replace or repair the
goods under the terms of the
guarantee where:
1The fault has been caused or is
attributable to accidental use,
misuse, negligent use or used
contrary to the manufacturer’s
recommendations or where the
fault has been caused by power
surges or damage caused in
transit.
2The appliance has been used on
a voltage supply other than that
stamped on the products.
3Repairs have been attempted by
persons other than our service
staff (or authorised dealer).
4The appliance has been used for
hire purposes or non domestic
use.
5The appliance is second hand.
6Morphy Richards are not liable
to carry out any type of servicing
work under the guarantee.
7The guarantee excludes
consumables such as filters and
dust bags.
• This guarantee does not confer
any rights other than those
expressly set out above and
does not cover any claims for
consequential loss or damage.
This guarantee is offered as an
additional benefit and does not
affect your statutory rights as a
consumer.
• This guarantee is valid in the UK
and Ireland only.
For electrical products sold
within the European
Community. At the end of the
electrical products useful life,
it should not be disposed of
with household waste.
Please recycle where facilities
exist. Check with your Local
Authority or retailer for
recycling advice in your
