How the Mosquito Magnet
®
Works
Mosquitoes and other biting insects use the attractant carbon
dioxide (CO2) to locate people. The Mosquito Magnet
®
mimics
a human by converting propane to CO2, with its patented
catalytic conversion technology.
Attracted by the CO2mosquitoes and other biting insects are
drawn to the Mosquito Magnet
®
. When they reach the trap,
the insects are vacuumed into a bug bag by our patented
Counterow Technology™, where they dehydrate and die
within 24 hours.
The Mosquito Magnet
®
is silent, odorless and runs 24/7.
When properly placed in your yard, the trap begins working
immediately. Noticeable results can be achieved in 7
to 10 days, to greatly reduce your biting insect population,
allow 4 weeks. To increase the effectiveness of CO2a co-for-
mulant can be added such as R-Octenol or Lurex3. Leave
the Mosquito Magnet
®
out all summer long, to control the
mosquito population in your yard.
Only biting insects are targeted including mosquitoes,
no-see-ums, black ies and midges. Benecial insects
such as butteries, bees or moths are not targeted.

Safety Instructions
Please read and follow all safety
instructions and warnings.
Children and adults should be alerted to
the hazards of high surface temperatures
and should stay away to avoid burns or
clothing ignition.
Note: Some or all of the following required safety
instructions for propane powered devices may
apply to your trap. Allow trap to cool for 5 minutes
before re-starting.
Warning: Improper installation, adjustment,
alteration, service or maintenance can cause injury
or property damage. Read the installation, operating
and maintenance instructions thoroughly before
installing or servicing the trap.
Caution: The gas pressure regulator provided with this
appliance must be used. This regulator is set for an outlet
pressure of 11.0 in. Water Column. The minimum inlet gas
supply pressure is 11.0 in. Water Column from regulator.
• This unit is not intended to be installed in or on recreational
vehicles and/or boats.
• The gas supply must be turned off at the LP-Gas supply
cylinder when this appliance is not in use.
• The installation must conform with local codes.
• To test for a gas leak, place soapy water around the
connector, regulator, and gas hose assembly. If bubbles
appear, there is a gas leak.
• Inspect the hose before each use of the unit. If it is evident there
is excessive abrasion or wear, or the hose is cut, it must be
replaced prior to the unit being put into operation. The
replacement hose shall be that specied by the manufacturer.
• The trap is equipped with an internal spark ignition device. Failure
to follow starting procedure will result in the trap not starting.
• Installation and repair should be done by a qualied service
person (nd service centers on www.mosquitomagnet.com).
The heater should be inspected before use and at least
annually by a qualied service person. More frequent
cleaning may be required as necessary. It is imperative that
the control compartment, burners, and circulating air
passageways of the heater be kept clean.
Young children should be carefully
supervised when they are in the
area of the heater. Keep out of
reach of children.
Clothing or other ammable materials
should not be hung from the heater,
or placed on or near the heater.

Safety Instructions
• Maintain adequate clearances of 50-60cm around air
openings into the combustion chamber, clearances from
combustible material, provisions for accessibility and for
combustion and ventilating air supply. Keep the trap area
clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and
other ammable vapors and liquids. The appliance is not
to be used in locations where ammable vapor or
explosive dust is likely to exist.
• Do not obstruct the ow of combustion and ventilation air.
• Keep the ventilating openings of the cylinder enclosure
free and clear from debris.
• Clean the trap with a water damp cloth, if necessary.
• A maximum of a 20 lb. LP-Gas cylinder shall be used.
• The LP-Gas cylinder supply system must be arranged for
vapor withdrawal and the cylinder must include a collar to
protect the cylinder valve.
• The trap shall be used outdoors only in a well ventilated
space and shall not be used in a building, garage, or any
other enclosed area.
• The LP-Gas cylinder must be disconnected and removed
from the appliance, if the appliance is stored indoors.
• LP-Gas cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-
ventilated area out of reach of children.
• Disconnected cylinders must have threaded valve plugs
tightly installed and must not be stored in a building, garage,
or any other enclosed area.
• The pressure regulator and hose assembly supplied with
this appliance must be used for connection to the LP-Gas
cylinder. Replacement pressure regulators and hose
assemblies must be specied by the manufacturer.
• Avoid improper use of extension cords. Keep connections
away from moisture and avoid damage to the cord.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualied
person in order to avoid hazard.
• Do not store near heat or re or where temperature may
exceed 60°C.

Assembly Instructions
Step 1
Place base upside down on a at
surface, slide U-shaped support
legs into slots on base until they
lock in place.
Step 5
Insert co-formulant cartridge as
directed in attractant packaging.

Set-Up
Trap Placement
1. Determine the direction of the prevailing wind.
Check local weather patterns if you are unsure.
2. Stand in the center of the area you are trying to protect
and look toward the prevailing wind.
3. Proper placement of the trap will be approximately 10m
in front of you, within 1.5 to 2m of ground cover (i.e. bushes,
owerbeds, tree line, marshbed). Ensure that trap is not
directly against any blockades such as buildings, fences, etc.
4. It is recommended that the trap be placed in the shade.
5. Do not place trap directly above a water source
(sprinklers, hose, etc.).
6. Trap must be placed on level ground to avoid tipping
or uneven propane distribution.
7. For optimal trap placement in your yard, refer to the
instructional video at www.mosquitomagnet.com/videos to
build your own yard diagram for correct trap placement.
Burying the Power Cord
Make sure unit is unplugged and in proper position. Use the
Cord Burying Clips supplied. Place clips approximately 1m apart,
press into ground by hand making sure not to damage power
cord. For alternate placement, follow steps illustrated below.
1. Use straightedge shovel or garden spade and dig a
trench about 8-10cm deep from power source to trap.
2. Place cord into trench carefully stretching as you go to
remove any twists in cord.
3. Use cedar shingle or folded cardboard to place cord into
bottom of trench. Recover the trench with removed soil.

Set-Up
Propane Tank Installation
1. After trap is placed in its ideal location, place propane
tank onto the molded cradle.
2. Make sure propane tank is fully closed. Attach
propane regulator hose to propane tank. Secure
tightly by hand. Do not use tools.
3. Turn propane on by slowly turning valve counter-clockwise.
Take care not to turn too quickly to avoid engagement of
safety valve.

Instructions
**READ MANUAL BEFORE STARTING**
Starting Instructions
It is recommended that you read the entire manual
before starting the Mosquito Magnet®trap.
1. Insert co-formulant cartridge as instructed on pack.
2. Connect regulator to propane tank (see page 11).
3. Plug power connector into the trap.
4. Plug AC adapter into electrical socket. (To avoid the
risk of electrical shock, connect only to properly
grounded outlets.) Adapter unit is not intended to be
mounted.
5. Slowly turn propane tank valve on.
6. Turn rocker switch to “on” position.
7. The red light on the switch will ash for up to 20
minutes (warm up phase).
8. Once the light stops ashing and is solid, the Mosquito
Magnet®is fully operational.
NOTE: Should you experience an interruption of power,
be sure to restart trap.
Shut Down Instructions
To shut down the Mosquito Magnet®simply close the valve
on the propane tank and switch to the “off” position.
When Not In Use
If the unit is not in use, the gas must be turned off at the
supply cylinder. Storage of this unit indoors is permissible only
if the cylinder is disconnected and removed. Cylinders must
be stored outdoors, out of reach of children and must not be
stored in a building, garage or any other enclosed area.
End of Season Storage
Push ON/OFF switch to OFF position to shut down the
trap. The LED light will go out and the fan will continue
running until trap is cool. Close the propane tank valve and
disconnect regulator.
Any open Mosquito Magnet
®
cartridge should be removed and
discarded. See co-formulant label for disposal instructions. The
bug bag should also be discarded prior to storing the trap.
STORAGE: The trap should be stored indoors in a garage
or shed in the off-season. Cover trumpet to prohibit insects
from nesting. Cover unit with a tarp and secure tightly at the

signicant reduction in the mosquito population in
7-10 days. Allow 4 weeks to signicantly reduce the

• Never spray insecticide in or around trap.

• If using lime or fertilizer compounds, be sure to shut
down the trap rst to prevent dust or ne mist from
being drawn into trap and clogging bug bag.

Caution: The gas pressure regulator provided with this
appliance must be used. This regulator is set for an outlet
pressure 11.0 in. water column.
The gas supply must be turned off at the LP-Gas supply
cylinder when this appliance is not in use.

• Periodically wipe down the outside of the trap
with a clean, water damp cloth.
Propane Tank Changing Tips
When attaching the regulator knob to a tank after a tank change,
be sure to fully tighten the regulator knob onto the tank. No need
to use tools, but do turn the knob as far as possible by hand. When
this is done, loosen the knob 1/4 turn, then re-tighten to maximize
seal.
The purpose for this is to fully engage the regulator onto the tank. If
the regulator is not fully engaged, the ow of gas may be restricted
to the point where the trap will show a gas empty code. If this
occurs, press the off button, close the tank valve, and remove the
regulator from the tank. Re-attach the regulator and try again.

using the correct power requirements for your unit.

Le zanzare e altri insetti pungitori si servono dell’attrattivo a lunga
portata, l’anidride carbonica (C02), per individuare le vittime. A
distanza ravvicinata, le zanzare determinano chi pungere in base
all’odore emesso dalla pelle. Il Mosquito Magnet® imita un essere
umano convertendo il propano in C02, grazie alla propria
tecnologia brevettata di conversione catalitica e mediante l'utilizzo
di coformulanti come il Lurex3 ed il R-Octenol.
Gli insetti ematofagi sono attratti nel Mosquito Magnet® dalla
C02e dall'attrattivo. Grazie all’esclusiva tecnologia brevettata
Counterow Technology™, gli insetti che arrivano in prossimità
alla trappola vengono aspirati nell’ apposito sacchetto dove
muoiono disidratati entro 24 ore.
Il Mosquito Magnet® è silenzioso, inodore e rimane in azione
24 ore al giorno, 7 giorni alla settimana. Quando è collocata in
giardino nella posizione giusta, la trappola inizia a funzionare
immediatamente. Entro 4 settimane si notano risultati signicativi.

le avvertenze di sicurezza.
I bambini e gli adulti devono essere
informati dei pericoli propri delle superci
ad alta temperatura e devono tenersi a
distanza per evitare ustioni o che i Ioro
indumenti prendano fuoco.
N.B. Le seguenti istruzioni obbligatorie riguardanti la
sicurezza dei dispositivi a propano possono applicarsi del
tutto o in parte alle trappole in dotazione. Prima di rimetterla
in funzione lasciare che la trappola si raffreddi per almeno 5
minuti.
Awertenza. Errori di montaggio, regolazione,
riparazione, manutenzione o modiche apportate alle
macchine possono causare lesioni o danni materiali.
Prima di installare o intervenire sulla trappola, leggere
attentamente le istruzioni per l'installazione il funzionamento
e la manutenzione.
Attenzione! E necessario usare il regolatore
della pressione del gas fornito assieme all'apparecchiatura.
Tale regolatore è impostato sulla pressione in uscita di una
colonna d'acqua di 28 cm (27 mbar). La pressione minima di
ingresso del gas è pari a quella di una colonna d'acqua di 28
cm (27 mbar).
• Questa apparecchiatura non è destinata ad essere installata
all'interno o su camper e/o natanti.
• Quando l'apparecchiatura non è in uso, interrompere
l'erogazione del gas, chiudendo la bombola di GPL (gas di
petrolio liquefatto).
• L'installazione deve essere conforme alla normativa vigente.
• Per controllare l'assenza di perdite di gas, cospargere acqua
saponata attorno al connettore, al regolatore ed al tubo del
gas. La formazione di bolle segnala una perdita di gas.
• lspezionare sempre il tubo prima di usare l'unità. Se si notano
segni di abrasione o di usura, se il tubo è tagliato, sostituirlo
prima di mettere in funzione l'apparecchiatura.Il tubo di
ricambio deve essere quello specicato dal fabbricante.
• La trappola è dotata di un dispositivo interno di accensione.
La trappola entra in funzione solo seguendo la procedura
descritta.
• L´installazione e le riparazioni devono essere effettuate da un
tecnico qualicato.
• Il riscaldatore deve essere ispezionato da un tecnico
qualicato, prima dell’uso ed almeno una volta ogni anno. Se
occorre, la pulizia può essere effettuata più frequentemente.
È imperativo tenere puliti i comandi, i bruciatori e i condotti di
circolazione dell'aria del riscaldatore.
Tenere il dispositivo lontano dalla portata
dei bambini.
Non appendere indumenti o altri
materiali inammabili sul dispositivo o
nei suoi pressi.

• Mantenere uno spazio libero adeguato di 50-60 cm intorno
ai fori di aerazione della camera di combustione, oltre allo spazio
richiesto per garantire l'accessibilità e l´aria occorrente alla
combustione ed alla ventilazione. Mantenere l'area della trappola
priva di ostacoli e libera da materiali combustibili, benzina ed altri
vapori e liquidi inammabili.
L'apparecchiatura non deve essere usata in luoghi dove
possano essere presenti vapori inammabili o polveri esplosive.
• Non ostruire il usso dell'aria necessaria alla combustione e
alla ventilazione.
• Mantenere sgombri e privi di detriti i fori di ventilazione della
struttura di supporto deIla bombola.
• Se occorre, pulire la trappola con un panno inumidito con acqua.
• Il sistema di erogazione della bombola GPL deve essere
predisposto per l'estrazione del vapore e la bombola deve
includere un collare di protezione della valvola.
• La trappola deve essere usata solo all'aperto in un'area ben
ventilata. Non deve essere usata in un edicio, in un garage
o in un altro ambiente chiuso.
• Se l'apparecchiatura viene conservata al coperto, la
bombola GPL deve essere scollegata e rimossa.
• Le bombole GPL devono essere conservate all'aperto in un
luogo ben ventilato, lontano della portata dei bambini.
• Le bombole scollegate devono essere dotate di tappi lettati
ben serrati e non devono essere conservate in edici,
garage o altri ambienti chiusi.
• Il collegamento dell'unità alla bombola GPL richiede il
gruppo regolatore della pressione/tubo fornito assieme
all'apparecchiatura. I gruppi di ricambio devono
corrispondere a quello specicato dal fabbricante.
• Evitare l’uso errato di prolunghe. Proteggere le connessioni
dall'umidità ed evitare di danneggiare il cavo.
• Per evitare pericoli, il cavo di alimentazione danneggiato
deve essere sostituito dal fabbricante o da un tecnico del
servizio assistenza o da personale parimenti qualicato.
• Non conservare vicino a fonti di calore o a amme libere, a
temperature superiori a 60°C.
