Introduction
The Motivation Multisport models are entry level dedicated sports wheelchairs to be used by
individuals or sports clubs and are ideal for basketball, tennis, rugby league, handball,
badminton, dance and many other activities
Safety Notes
Safety check before use
Once the sports wheelchair has been assembled, using the Assembly Manual and Assembly
Video to guide you through the correct assembly, please carry out the following safety checks
before using the wheelchair for the first time. Remember to not over-tighten the nuts and
bolts.
Castor wheels spin freely
Castor fork spins freely in the castor barrel
Footrest bolts are fully tight
Backrest bolts are fully tight
Backrest straps are firmly fastened together
Seat straps are firmly fastened together
Rear wheel axles are securely locked to the chair
Rear wheels spin freely
Tyres are pumped up to the proper pressure (see the tyre wall for recommended
pressure)
Ensure the padding is attached to the backrest cross-brace tube (as shown in the
assembly instructions)
Cushion is placed correctly on the seat
Straps are correctly located
Transporting the wheelchair
Remove the quick-release rear wheels before transporting
Do not pick up the wheelchair up by the upholstery, always pick the wheelchair up by
the frame
When replacing the rear wheels to the frame, always check the axles are clean before
inserting into the frame and check the axles are securely attached to the frame before
use
General reminders
Do not leave the product outside during heavy rain or saturate with water when
cleaning
Keeping the wheelchair clean will increase the life of the wheelchair
If the paint on the frame becomes scratched, paint the affected area immediately to
ensure that it does not corrode
The wheelchair comes with four straps for use during competition, these straps are
important both for safety and for improved performance as they help to keep the body
stable during movement
Care and Maintenance
Care and maintenance is very important to keep your sports wheelchair in the best possible
condition and will increase the life of the wheelchair and will allow you to get the most out of
your product
Cushion and Upholstery
Check condition at least once a month
Look for ripped fabric or seams and worn out foam
Keep the cover and seat upholstery tight at all times
Wash cushion cover and upholstery whenever it is unclean
or if it comes in contact with urine
Dry the cushion and upholstery fully before re-fitting to the
wheelchair
Never expose the cushion to direct sunlight, even when
drying
Rear Wheels

If the wheels do not run smoothly,
the bearings may need changing
Check tyres are properly inflated,
daily, and pump up if tyre feels
soft, to ensure tyre last longer
Fix any punctures immediately
Check spokes are tight at least
once a month
Check the rear wheel quick-
release axles are secure at least
once a month
Footrest
Never put hand on the
footrest during transfers
Never stand or carry loads
on the footrest castor wheel
and fifth wheel
Check the footrest bolts are
tight at least once a month
Frame
Check the backrest tube bolts
are tight at least once a month
Check the front bumper bolts
are tight at least once a month
Castor and fifth wheel
If the castor wheels or fifth wheel do not run
smoothly, the bearings may need changing
Check castor wheel axles are tight at least
once a month
Check if castor fork stem is loose and tighten
if necessary at least once a month
Adjustment
The motivation sports wheelchair has multiple adjustments, these are explained clearly in the
Motivation sports wheelchair Assembly Manual and Assembly/Adjustment Video
The available adjustments are listed below:
Removable Bumper
Bumper can be removed to improve performance for specific wheelchair sports, for example
wheelchair tennis and dance. The bumper can be easily re-attached at any time.
Backrest height
3 adjustment settings available
Backrest tension adjustable straps
All the straps can be adjusted to provide an optimum fit and comfort.
Seat length adjustment
3 seat length settings available
Footrest height adjustment
On the adult multisport model there are 3 height settings available
On the junior multisport model, the mounting clamps allow for infinite setting adjustment
Footrest forward/back position
On the junior model the footrest can be placed on the mounting clamps in a forward or
backward position
Rear anti Tip wheel height adjustment
Multiple height settings are available
Cushion Length adjustment
The cushion foam can be cut down to match the length of the seat setting
