1 Sicherheit
1.1 Sicherheitshinweise
Alle Personen, die mit der Montage, Inbetriebnahme,
Bedienung, Wartung und Instandhaltung des Geräts zu tun
haben, müssen
- fachlich ausreichend qualifiziert sein und
- diese Betriebsanleitung genau beachten.
Bei Fehlbedienung oder Missbrauch drohen Gefahren für
- Leib und Leben,
- das Gerät und andere Sachwerte des Betreibers und
- die effiziente Funktionsweise des Gerätes
In dieser Betriebsanleitung werden drei Arten von Sicher-
heitshinweisen verwendet, um wichtige Informationen
hervorzuheben.
1 Safety
1.1 Safety instructions
All personnel involved in installation, commissioning,
operation or maintenance of this equipment must:
- be suitably qualified and
- strictly observe these operating instructions.
Improper operation or misuse can lead to
- serious or fatal injury,
- damage to the equipment and other property of the user
- a reduction in the efficiency of the equipment.
Safety instructions in this manual are presented in three
different forms to emphasize important information.
1.2 Specified application
The remote temperature indicator El100 or EI100/160 permits
the remote indication of any desired sensor signals. An
analoge and LCD display is used to show the analoge sensor
signals. The device may only be used at designated installati-
on positions.
It is important to read and observe the limit values for
operation indicated on the nameplate and in the operating
instructions prior to commissioning the device.
1.3 Important notes on equipment operation
The user is obliged to comply with the national health &
safety regulations.
It is especially emphasized that tasks performed on live,
i.e. dangerous-contact components, are permissible only
while these components are either de-energized or protected
against direct contact.
1.2 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Temperaturfernanzeige EI100 bzw. EI100/160 dient der
Fernanzeige beliebiger Sensorsignale. Die analogen Sensor-
signale werden mittels einer Analog- und LCD-Anzeige
visualisiert. Das Gerät ist nur an den bestimmungsgemäßen
Einbauorten zu verwenden.
Vor Inbetriebnahme des Geräts sind die auf dem Typenschild
und in der Betriebsanleitung angegebenen Grenzwerte in der
Anwendung zu beachten und unbedingt einzuhalten.
1.3 Hinweise für den Betrieb des Geräts
Die nationalen Unfallverhütungsvorschriften hat der Anwen-
der unbedingt einzuhalten.
Es wird besonders darauf hingewiesen, dass das Arbeiten
an aktiven, d.h. berührungsgefährlichen Teilen nur zulässig
ist, wenn diese Teile spannungsfrei sind oder gegen direktes
Berühren geschützt sind.

2 Produktbeschreibung/Product specification
Bei der elektrischen Installation sind die nationalen Vor-
schriften zu beachten. Um einen störungsfreien Betrieb zu
gewährleisten, ist der Schutzleiter unbedingt anzuschließen.
2 Produktbeschreibung
Die „Elektronische Fernanzeige EI100 bzw. EI100/160“
zeigt die Temperatur oder eine prozentuale Aussteuerung
eines beliebigen Sensors an. Die Anzeige erfolgt über ein
analoges Zeigerinstrument und ein digitales LCD-Display. Das
Eingangssignal ist 4...20mA. Die Versorgungsspannung ist
24V DC.
Der EI100 kann im Schaltschrank (Bild 1, Klemmbügelmonta-
ge) oder aussen (Bild 2, Freiluft mit Stativ) montiert werden.
Es verfügt ausserdem über einen Schleppzeiger, der manuell
zurückgestellt werden kann.
Der EI100/160 ist in einem Ø160-Gehäuse eingebaut und
wird, wie die Zeigerthermometer auch, über 2 Bohrungen in
der rückseitigen Befestigungsplatte montiert (Bild 3 und 4).
Der EI100 bzw. EI100/160 ist die ideale Ergänzung für das
digitale Thermometer EPT202, für die Zeigerthermometer mit
Temperaturtransmitter (TT=4...20mA) und kann auch in Kom-
bination mit dem „Signalkonverter TT30“ eingesetzt werden,
um z. B. den Ölstand im Schaltschrank am Trafo anzuzeigen.
Der Messwert wird entsprechend der Verwendung in % oder
in °C dargestellt.
Electrical installation is subject to the relevant national

conductor in order to ensure trouble-free operation.
2 Product specification
The “remote electronic indicator El100 or EI100/160“ shows
the temperature or a modulation in percent of any desired
sensor. This is indicated by an analog pointer instrument and
a digital LCD display. The input signal is 4...20 mA. The voltage
supply is 24V DC.
The EI100 can be mounted in the switching cabinet (figure
1, clamp strap mounted) or outside (figure 2, outdoors on
stand). In addition, it is equipped with a drag pointer which
can be reset by hand.
The EI100/160 is installed in a Ø160 housing and, as with the
pointer thermometer, can be mounted with 2 bored holes on
the rear mounting plate (figures 3 and 4).
The El100 or EI100/160 is the ideal accessory for the digital
thermometer EPT202, the pointer thermometer with tem-
perature transmitter (TT=4...20mA) and can also be used in
combination with the “Signal Converter TT30“ to indicate, for
example, the oil level in the control box on the transformer.
The values can be indicated in percent or in degrees centigra-
de according to the application.

gen im Anhang zu montieren:

4 Electrical connections
4.1 Versorgungsspannung 24V DC
Schliessen Sie die Versorgungsspannung entsprechend dem
Schaltbild (Bild 5, EI100 oder Bild 6, EI100/160) an die Klem-
men + und - an. Achtung, die Leitungen müssen während
dem Anschluss stromlos sein, die Versorgungsspannung darf
erst zugeschaltet werden, nachdem das Gerät vollständig
angeschlossen ist.
4.2 Sensoreingang 4...20mA
Es gibt 2 Möglichkeiten das 4...20mA-Signal vom Sensor
anzuschliessen:
I1Passiver Sensor, ohne eigene Versorgungsspannung
I2Aktiver Sensor oder aktiver 4...20mA Stromkreis
Achten Sie bei beiden Anschlussarten jeweils auf die maxi-
male Bürde des Sensors.
Sensoreingang I1(passiv)
Der passive Eingang liefert eine Versorgungsspannung von
24V DC. Schliessen Sie die Leitungen entsprechend dem
Schaltbild (Bild 5, EI100 oder Bild 6, EI100/160) an die
Klemmen + und - an.
4.1 Power supply 24V DC
Connect the power supply as shown in the circuit diagram
(figure 5, EI100 or figure 6, EI100/160) to the + and - termi-
nals. Caution: The lines must be de-energized during con-
nection. Do not reconnect the power supply until the device
is completely connected.
4.2 Sensoreingang 4...20mA
There are two ways to connect the 4…20mA signal of the
sensor.
I1Passive sensor, without own power supply
I2Active sensor or active 4…20mA current circuit
With both types of connection, remember the maximum load
of the sensor.
Sensor input I1(passiv)
The passive input delivers a voltage of 24V DC. Connect the
lines as shown in the circuit diagram (figure 5, EI100 or
figure 6, EI100/160) to the + and - terminals.
ACHTUNG
Die in dieser Montage- und Betriebsanleitung vorge-
schriebenen Betriebs- und Montagebedingungen müssen
strikt eingehalten werden.

this installation and operating manual must be strictly

Installation, electrical connection, commissioning, and
maintenance of the device may only be carried out by
qualified, skilled personnel and only in accordance with
these operating instructions.

device is used for the specified application only.
For safety reasons, any unauthorized and improperly
executed work, i.e. installation, modification, alteration
of the equipment, electrical connection, or commis-
sioning of the equipment, are forbidden without first
consulting Messko!
ACHTUNG

tung des Geräts dürfen ausschließlich von qualifiziertem,
ausgebildetem Personal gemäß dieser Betriebsanleitung
durchgeführt werden.
Der Betreiber hat für die bestimmungsgemäße Verwen-
dung des Geräts Sorge zu tragen.
Eigenmächtig und unsachgemäß durchgeführte Arbeiten
bei Ein- und Umbau, elektrischem Anschluss, Inbetrieb-
nahme und Wartung – ohne Rücksprache mit Messko –
sind aus Sicherheitsgründen verboten!

5. Funktionsprüfung
- Überprüfen Sie den elektrischen Anschluss des EI 100 bzw.
EI100/160 anhand der Stromlaufpläne unter Kapitel 8.
- Schalten Sie die Versorgungsspannung ein. Der angezeigte
Wert muss mit dem Wert vom Sensor übereinstimmen.
- Entnehmen Sie die Toleranzen aus den Datenblättern der
angeschlossenen Geräte.

5. Function test
- Check the electrical connection of the El 100 or EI100/160
using the circuit diagram in chapter 8.
- Switch on the power supply. The value shown must
correspond to the value of the sensor.
- Take the tolerances from the data sheets of the
equipment that is connected.
