1. Overview
The MS-6309 is paired with the VIA VT82C686A south bridge. High y
advanced, the south bridge combines an integrated 2D/3D engine with DVD
hardware acce eration, AC-97 audio support for SoundB aster Pro and FM
synthesis egacy audio.

2. Driver Setup & Usage Procedures for
Windows®®

Insert the CD-tit e into your CD-ROM drive. The CD wi auto-run
and wi disp ay the four icons in the monitor VIA Chipset Drivers,
VIA AC97 PCI Sound Drivers and Down oad VIA Drivers. In
order to insta the drivers correct y, you must insta the Via Chipset
Drivers first, and then insta the VIA AC97 PCI Sound Drivers.
2.1 VIA Chipset Drivers installation procedure:
Step 1: Insert the provided CD_ROM disk into the CD-ROM drive.
Step 2: Look for the CD_ROM drive, doub e c ick on the CD_ROM
icon. This wi show the setup screen.
Step 3: C ick on Via Chipset Drivers icon and the screen wi show
VIA Service Pack 4.19.
Step 4: C ick Next and the screen wi show four drivers VIA
Atapi Vendor Support Driver, AGP VxD Driver, VIA
Chipset Functions Registry and IRQ Routing Miniport
Driver. Se ect a four drivers and c ick on Next.
Step 5: The setup program wi request you to choose Insta VIA
Atapi Vendor Support Driver. P ease se ect Insta  and
c ick Next to continue.
Step 6: C ick to enab ed DMA Mode, P ease se ect Insta  and
c ick Next to continue.
Step 7: The setup program wi request you to choose Insta VIA
AGP VxD in turbo mode, Insta VIA AGP VxD in norma
mode or Uninsta VIA AGP VxD. P ease se ect Insta
VIA AGP VxD in turbo mode and c ick on Next.

Step 8: The setup program wi et you choose between Insta VIA
Chipset Functions Registry or Uninsta VIA Chipset Functions
Registry. P ease se ect Insta VIA Chipset Functions Registry
and then c ick Next.
Step : The setup program wi et you choose between Insta VIA IRQ
Routing Miniport Driver or Uninsta VIA IRQ Routing Miniport
Driver. P ease se ect Insta VIA IRQ Routing Miniport Driver
Step 10: The setup program wi request you to choose whether to restart
the computer or not. P ease se ect Yes, I want to restart my
computer now and c ick Finish. The computer wi restart and
finish the VIA Chipset Drivers insta ation.

2.2 VIA AC 7 PCI Sound Drivers installation procedure:
Step 1: Insert the provided CD_ROM disk into the CD-ROM drive.
Step 2: Look for the CD_ROM drive, doub e c ick on the CD_ROM
icon. This wi show the setup screen.
Step 3: C ick on VIA AC97 PCI Sound Drivers icon and the screen
wi show VIA AC97 PCI Sound Drivers.
Step 4: C ick Next to proceed and the screen wi show Insta ,
or Remove. Se ect Insta  and then c ick on Next.
Step 5: The setup program wi request you to choose whether to
restart the computer or not. P ease se ect Yes, I want to restart
my computer now and c ick Finish. The computer wi restart
and finish the AC97 Audio Drivers Insta ation.

Insta Windows® NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 or the atest version before
insta ing the VIA drivers.
Insert the CD-tit e in the CD-ROM drive. The CD wi auto-run and
wi disp ay four icons on the screen VIA Chipset Drivers, VIA
AC97 PCI Sound Driversand Down oad VIA Drivers. In order to
insta the drivers proper y, insta the VIA Chip Drivers first and
then insta the VIA AC97 PCI Sound Drivers.
3.1 VIA Chipset Drivers Installation Procedure:
Step 1: Insert the provided CD_ROM disk into the CD-ROM drive.
Step 2: Look for the CD_ROM drive, doub e c ick on the CD_ROM
icon. This wi show the setup screen.
Step 3: C ick on VIA Chipset Drivers icon and the screen wi
show VIA Service Pack 4.19.
Step 4: C ick Next to proceed and the screen wi show Insta ,
Uninsta  or Enab e/Disab e U tra DMA for IDE Driver.
Se ect Insta  and then c ick on Next.
Step 5: P ease c ick on Yes, I want to restart my computer.

3.2 VIA AC 7 PCI Sound Drivers Installation Procedure:

Step 3: C ick on VIA AC97 PCI Sound Drivers icon and the screen wi
show the VIA PCI Audio Drivers setup screen. C ick Next to
continue
Step 4: The setup program wi show Insta  or Remove in the screen.
Se ect Insta  and c ick Next
Step 5: The setup program wi show the fo owing on the screen:
P ease choose Add from the next window
and add the fo owing device:
VIA AC97 PCI Audio Device
VIA MIDI Externa Port
Then c ick OK.
Step 6: Fo ow the steps shown in Step 5 to finish the VIA AC97 PCI
Audio Drivers Insta ation.
