The configuration barcodes provided in this manual offer instant setup off the various scanner settings,

E.G.,serialcommunicationbaudrate,enablinganddisablingbarcodes.

Note:Defaultvaluesinthisguideareindicatedbythenotation “(*)”.

Note: Barcodes may also be referred to as “symbols”. This manual may use either or both conventions.

Please read the operation Manual of this reader carefully toensure correct use of the equipment. Keep

the documentnear theequipmentforreferenceintheeventofproblems.

The contentsofthisdocument aresubjecttochangewithoutnotice.

Ensure to scan the “Save Settings” barcode after settings have been changed to write the settings onthe

scanner’s non-volatile flash memory. Without saving the settings the scanner will revert to the previously

storedsettingsafter power isreapplied.

To set the Baud rate to match the baud rate setting of the host device, scan the appropriate symbol

2. Symbol Setup

2.1 Common Setup

・All Symbologies

ToEnableorDisabletodecodesymbolsforallsymbolories,scantheappropriatesymbolbelow.

Note:Toenableonlyaselectnumberofsymbologies,itisadvisedtodisableallsymbologiesfirstand

enableonlythesymbologytype(s)needed.

To Enable or Disable to read symbols located at the central part of the field of view only, scan the

The image reader candecode multiplesymbols (uptofour symbols) ina singleimage witha single pull of the

trigger.

To set the maximum number of symbols to be decoded for a single trigger input, scan the appropriate

symbolbelow.

Unlessotherwisespecified,if an erroroccursduring ascanning sequence,justre-scanthe correct parameter.

[Procedure]

(1)Setthemaximum number of symbols to bedecodedforasingletrigger input. (previouspage).

(2)Settheseparatorcharactertobeinsertedbetweenthesymboldata(previouspage).

(3) Set the sorting method ( none, in the order of decoding, symbol lengths, specified characters, or

symbologies)

(4) Select the outputsequencenumber tobeprogrammed(upto4).

(5) Setthe item to beset (symbollengths,First Character,SecondCharacter,Typeof Symbologies).

(6) SettheappropriateData.

(a)Tosetthesymbollengths,usethe”CharacterData”on page27.

(b) To set the first or second character, use the “Character Code” on page26.

(c)Tosetthesymboogy, use the “Symbology type” on page29and30.

(7)When settingiscomplete,scan the “Confirm” symbol to accept the changes or “Cancel” to revert back to the

previoussettings.Thesesymbolscanbefoundonpage30.

(8)Repeat steps(4)through(7)tosettheremainingitems.

(9)Finallyscanthe “Save Settings” symbol tosavethesettingstotheunit’s non-volatileFlashmemory.

Note: Multiple RSS composite codes cannot be decoded from a single image, but a single RSS composite
