1. INTRODUCTION AND SETUP
The trophon Printer provides a label record of the most recent high level disinfection cycle directly from
the trophon device. The label is generated at the completion of each high level disinfection cycle and
can be placed directly on to a patient medical record or other documentation. Printed label records
remain legible for up to 7 years if stored as per the specifications outlined on the label roll packaging.
The printer is designed for use specifically with the trophon device. Accuracy and life time of records is
not guaranteed if an unapproved accessory (printer or label roll) is used or if records are stored outside
the storage specifications.
For any operation, fault or maintenance queries, please contact your customer service representative.

Unpack the printer from its packaging
Position the printer securely on a bench beside the trophon device. The trophon Printer Wall
Mount or trophon Printer Cart Mount accessories should be used to mount the printer to the wall
or cart.
Follow the setup instructions in Appendix A for powering on the printer and connecting it to your
trophon device.
NOTE: Ensure the printer power cable is connected to the printer before connecting to an earthed
mains outlet or switching power switch to on position.
NOTE: Keep the label roll holders in the “unlock” position. Please note the orientation of the label roll
holders in Figure 3, as they can be rotated. Incorrect orientation will prevent correct loading of the label
roll into the printer.
2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Once the printer is connected to the trophon device via the appropriate cable provided (either
USB or serial cable, depending on the port available on your trophon device) and powered on,
the printer will be automatically detected.
It is recommended to complete a test print to confirm successful connection to the device.
Test prints and all other printer settings can be accessed on the trophon device screen by
selecting either Menu

Turn off the printer and unplug from the power socket before cleaning.
Do NOT submerge the printer, or pour liquids over it.
Keep the power socket completely dry (see Figure 2).
Remove the label roll paper from the printer prior to cleaning.
Clean the printer feeder area routinely to ensure there is no glue or paper residue. Use tweezers
to remove any excess residue from the paper cutter area.
For cleaning, wipe the outside covers of the printer with a cloth moistened with a mild, soapy
solution, until all surfaces are visibly clean, taking care to ensure that liquid does not come into
contact with the power socket, printer interior, or label roll.
Clean the printer head when replacing the label roll using a soft cloth with ethanol. Refer to
Figure 3 for the printer head location.
For disinfecting, wipe all external surfaces of the printer with an Isopropanol or Quat Wipe.
