1. Manufacturer note
This manual describes the good practices recommended by Nayar Systems S.L. in order to ensure an
optimal performance in safe conditions. Any improper manipulation, damage caused during the
installation of the device and, in general, an incorrect use not explained in this document may void the
warranty.
2. Nearkey
2.1. Description of the product
Nearkey is an access control device for electric drives using the smartphone. It substitutes keys and
physical remotes for virtual ones. The system allows the management of users and groups in the cloud,
ensuring maximum security in the facilities.

3. First steps
3.1. Device installation
1. Before to install Nearkey, refer to the user's manual of the control unit. If it is going to be
installed in a door's control unit, it must have a connection output for accessories.
2. Deactivate the power supply of the installation and make sure that the area where you are
going to work is safe.
3. Access the control unit and search for the drive terminals indicated in the respective user
manual.
4. Take the 5-way cable from the box.
5. Connect the grey cable (COM contact) and yellow cable (NO contact) or the green cable (NC
contact), depending on the installation, to the terminals specified in the manual of your control
unit to carry out the drive.
See Nearkey connections in section 2.5. Connections.
6. Connect the power input.
•If the installation has a power output between 8-35V DC or 6-24V AC, connect the red and
black cables to this output, it does not influence the position of the cables, it is polarity
independent.
•If your unit does not have a power output, we must provide Nearkey with an external power
supply with a voltage between 8-35V DC or 6-24V AC. If you have a 220V socket, you must
install a transformer with the following characteristics: 8 to 35V direct current (DC) or 6 to
24V alternating current (AC) that supplies more than 200Ma.
7. Install the device in a place insulated from water and humidity, making sure that the cables
reach the device without exerting tension.
8. Use M3 screws for fixing if necessary.
9. Insulate unused cables with insulating tape or a hot shrink.
10. Connect the 5-way cable to the Nearkey connector.
11. Activate the power supply to the installation and check that the power LED is lit with green light.
If Nearkey has never been configured, the blue configuration LED will be flashing.
If Nearkey only shows the green power light, this device has already been configured. If you do
not have the necessary access permissions consider reading section 8. Restarting the device.

3.2. Nearkey app
To configure and use your device, download the Nearkey app from the App Store or Google Play. It can
also be done through the following Q codes:

3.3. Basic setup
As to setup Nearkey, place yourself close to the device. If you are already a Nearkey user, open the app
and read from to point 4.
1. Start the application and enter an accessible email at the time of configuration.
2. Nearkey will send an email to the address entered to verify the user's identity. Check the email
inbox and spam.
3. Press the enter button that will appear in the email, it will redirect you to the Nearkey
application.
4. Activate the Bluetooth connection.
5. Press the configuration button that will show the application. If the Nearkey app does not
display any devices, make sure of the following:
•You are at a distance where the Bluetooth of the mobile can detect the device.
•Nearkey has not been configured previously and you do not have access permissions, in
this case the green power LED will be on. Consider reading section 8. Reset the device.
•Nearkey has power, if the green power led is not lit, we recommend to read section 3.1.
Device installation.
6. Introduce a name that allows the logical association to the facilities.
7. Specify the time zone where the device will be installed.
8. Specify a name for Actuator 1, this will appear in the app button.
9. Modify the characteristics of Actuator 1 depending on the needs of the door. You can choose
between the following modes:
•Pulse, punctual activation of the relay, is the most common option of activation (door
motors, automatic entryphones, gates or electronic buttons among others). When the app
button is pressed, the relay will go from the NC position to NO for the seconds specified in
the Duration section.
•Switch, static on/off mode. When the app button is pressed, the relay will change from
the NC position to NO permanently until the button is pressed again.
10. Check the functioning of Nearkey.
•If pressing the app button it generates a drive in the installation (the door opens, the key is
activated, etc.), the configuration has been carried out correctly.

•If pressing the app button it does not produce a drive, check the installation cables, please
read section 3.1. Device installation and compare it with the user manual of your
installation.
The installation and basic configuration of Nearkey will be complete. This configuration can later be
modified from My Locks/Advanced Con iguration.
4. Range of users
Owner:
•Owner of the lock.
•There can be only one per lock.
•The owner can create administrators, users and groups in the lock.
•The owner can access the installation by creating a key for yourself.
Administrator
•There may be several per lock.
•The administrator can create users and groups in the lock.
•The administrator can access the installation by creating a key for yourself.
Users
•Access to the facility.
•The users may have access restrictions, depending on whether set by the owner or
administrator.

5. Menu
•Access through Nearkey app by pressing the icon located at the top left side of the app.
•Access through the Nearkey Web Admin platform located in the following U L:

My locks:
•It allows to give access to users, groups and to modify the configuration of the lock.
•This tab only appears to owners and/or administrators.
My keys:
•Allows you to see the keys to which you have access.
•Allows you to update the permissions of the keys.
•This tab appears to all users.
Groups:
•Allows the creation of groups.
•This tab only appears to owners and/or administrators.
Settings:
•Allows the modification of the user's configuration.
•This tab appears to all users.
About:
•Allows you to check the version of the app you are using.
•This tab appears to all users.
Logout:
•Allows you to log out of the app.
•This tab appears to all users.

6. Advanced settings
(only for owner and administrators)
6.1. Add users
•From the application or from the web in the Admin area section, access to My Locks section of
the menu.
•Select the lock in which you want to add users and press the New key button.
•In the menu, fill in the data relating to the new user, including time or temporal restrictions if
applicable.
•The new user is already registered. epeat this operation to include new users.
6.2. Delete users
•From the application or from the web in the Admin area section, access to My Locks section of
the menu.
•Select the lock in which you want to delete users.
•Locate the user you want to remove access to and click the trash located at the right side of the
name.
•The user no longer has access to the installation.
6.3. Create groups
The creation of groups is used to bring together users with common characteristics. To create a group,
please read the following steps:
•From the application or from the web in the Admin area section, access to Groups section of the
menu and press the New Group button.
•Introduce a name that allows the logical association of the group and the maximum number of
users that can be added.
•Click on the New member button and introduce the names and e-mail addresses of the users
you would like to be part of the group.
•If you need to add other group administrators, enter the e-mail of the new administrator in the
Administrators section and press the Add button. The administrator must be a member of the
group and previously they must have registered their email in the Nearkey app or Admin web.

•To add a group to one or more locks follow the same steps as to add a new user. However, in
the Key type tab select Group.
•The group is already created and active in the lock.
6.4. Activity log
From the application or from the web in the Admin area section, access to My Locks section of the menu
and select the lock you would like to consult.
The activity log section shows:
•Date. Date and time an interaction with Nearkey was recorded.
•Operation. Action that has been recorded in Nearkey.
•Email. Email from the user who has interacted with Nearkey.
•Name. Name of a user who has interacted with Nearkey.
In this section you can search with the specifications that are indicated, sort by date or show
results for a specific date.
This data can be downloaded in .csv format specifying the desired date range.
6.5. Advanced setting changes
To make changes to Nearkey configuration, from the app or from the web in the Admin area section,
access to My Locks section, select the lock you would like to consult and press Advanced Con iguration.
Some of the options listed below are only modifiable by owners, in which case they will be specified in
parentheses.
The following options will be displayed:
•Name. It allows you to change the name of the device.
•Time zone. It allows you to change the time zone.
•Description It allows you to introduce a description in the lock, this will help to identify and to
speed up the search of the lock in case of having several.
•Registration of accesses for new keys. It allows you to activate or deactivate the register the
activity log of users in new keys.
•Auto-update firmware. It allows you to update the firmware automatically, we recommend
not to modify this option.
•Hide in scan. Unchecking this box the app will not show the lock in the screen, but it will show
the option to scan Q code or NFC tag if this option has been enabled.
•Actuator. It allows you to modify the characteristics of the relay.

•Admins (only owner). It allows you to create other administrators in the lock, previously they
must have registered their email in the Nearkey app or Admin web.
•Firmware upgrades. It shows you the firmware version of the Nearkey device.
•Replace with newly configured Nearkey. It allows you to change the hardware device for a
new one without losing the users and characteristics of the previous one.
•Change owner (only owner). Allows the transfer of ownership of the lock, previously the new
owner must have registered their email in the Nearkey app or Admin web.
Once the change has been made, the previous owner will still have access. This user can
be deleted from the lock, please read section 6.2. Delete users.
The user to whom the property has been transferred will become owner without access
permission. In case you need to access the installation you must create a key for
yourself.
•Labels. Allows you to add a Q or NFC code to open the door. It works the same way as the
button, but scanning the label.
To add a Q tag:
1. Create a Q code with the following format: https://api.nearkey.io/a/shot?
label=open. Make sure there are no spaces between letters. The word open can
be modified to other.
2. The name that has been chosen after the =, in this case open, is the one that will
be added in the labels section.
To add an NFC tag:
1. Purchase a label, card, or similar NFC compatible with smartphone readers.
(e.g.: NTag 213)
2. Download a mobile app that allows you to record NFC tags, NFC tools mobile
app, or similar.
3. Save on the label: https://api.nearkey.io/a/shot?label=open. Make sure there are
no spaces between letters. The word open can be modified to other.
4. The name that has been chosen after the =, in this case open, is the one that will
be added in the labels section.
•Lock's image (owner only). It allows you to insert a logo to the lock.
•Button colors (owner only). It allows you to change the background and text color of the
button.

7. Users
Users will be able to access to the installation if they have access permissions. It requires that they
should be registered in Nearkey and they need to install the app. It can be done in two ways:
•Searching Nearkey in the App Store or Google Play as indicated in section 3.2. Nearkey App.
•Clicking on the download link they will receive in the email that new Nearkey users will receive
when an owner or administrator give them access.
First steps for new users:
1. Download the Nearkey app available in App store and Google Play.
2. Open the app and introduce the email in which we the permission or in which we are going to
be register.
3. Nearkey will send an email to the address you entered to verify the identity of the
user. Please check the email inbox and spam.
4. Press the enter button that will appear in the email, it will redirect you to the Nearkey app.
. Nearkey reset
The reset of the device is used to restore Nearkey to factory settings, it removes the configuration of
the device including the ownwer, administrators and users of that lock. From the time of restart, the
lock must be reconfigured. ead section 3. First steps.
To restart the device we should:
1. Identify the configuration button. Please check section 2.6. Main view. The Nearkey version v4.0
has the button located on the right side of the Bluetooth module.
2. Press the button with the finger or an element that cannot damage the device.
3. Press and hold the button for approximately 3 seconds. The configuration LED will emit a red
light, when this light goes out and the LED turns blue, stop pressing the button.
4. If the operation has been correct, the configuration LED will start flashing with blue light, if this
light does not appear, please repeat the process.

9. Interaction with Nearkey
The interaction with Nearkey is made through Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 protocol. Therefore, we must
place ourselves at a distance where our smartphone can detect Nearkey. If we have the access
permission and we are close to the device, the app will show a lock like the following one:
At the top of the lock we can observe two things:
•Icon with five bars. It indicates the proximity of our smartphone to the device, with a
minimum of one bar and a maximum of five.
•Color of the bars. It indicates the connection to the lock, if we did not pressed the button it will
be displayed in red. If we interact with the lock the icon colour will change to green.

un rendimiento óptimo del dispositivo en condiciones seguras. Toda manipulación indebida, daños
producidos durante la instalación del equipo y, en general, un mal uso no recogido en el documento
quedará fuera de garantía.
2. Nearkey
2.1. Descripción del producto
Nearkey es un dispositivo de control de accesos para accionamientos eléctricos utilizando el
smartphone. Sustituye las llaves y mandos físicos por virtuales. El sistema permite la gestión de
usuarios y grupos en la nube, asegurando la máxima seguridad en las instalaciones.
2.2. Contenido de la caja
•Guía de inicio rápido.
•Dispositivo Nearkey.
•Cable de 5 vías.
2.3. Herramientas para el montaje
•Destornillador plano pequeño.
•3 x tornillos de M3 (opcionales).

3. Primeros pasos
3.1. Instalación del dispositivo
1. Antes de proceder a la instalación de Nearkey, consulte el manual de usuario de la unidad de
control. Si se desea hacer la instalación en una centralita de una puerta, esta debe contar un
una salida de conexión para accesorios.
2. Desactivar la fuente de alimentación de la instalación y asegurarse de que la zona donde se va
a trabajar es segura.
3. Acceder a la centralita y buscar los terminales de accionamiento indicados en el respectivo
manual de usuario.
4. Coger el cable de 5 vías de la caja.
5. Conectar el cable gris (contacto COM) y cable amarillo (contacto NO) o el cable verde (contacto
NC), dependiendo de la instalación, a los terminales especificados en el manual de su unidad
de control para realizar el accionamiento.
Consulte las conexiones de Nearkey en el apartado 2.5. Conexiones.
6. Conectar la entrada de corriente.
•Si la instalación cuenta con una salida de alimentación entre 8-35V DC o 6-24V AC, conectar
los cables rojo y negro a esta salida, no influye la posición de los cables, su polaridad es
independiente.
•Si su unidad no dispone de una salida de energía, deberemos proveer a Nearkey con
suministro eléctrico externo con un voltaje entre 8-35V DC o 6-24V AC. Si tiene una toma de
corriente a 220V, deberá instalar un transformador con las siguientes características:
corriente continua (DC) de 8 a 35V o corriente alterna (AC) de 6 a 24V que suministre más
de 200Ma.
7. Colocar el dispositivo en un lugar aislado del agua y la humedad, asegurándose de que los
cables anteriormente conectados lleguen al dispositivo sin ejercer tensión.
8. Utilizar tornillos M3 para su fijación si se considera necesario.
9. Aislar los cables que no han sido utilizados. Se puede usar cinta aislante o una funda
termoretractil.
10. Conectar el cable de 5 vías al conector de Nearkey.
11. Activar la alimentación de la instalación y verificar que el led verde de corriente se encuentra
encendido. Si Nearkey nunca ha sido configurado, el led azul de configuración se encontrará
parpadeando.
Si Nearkey únicamente muestra la luz verde de alimentación, este dispositivo ya ha sido

configurado con anterioridad, por lo que sino se cuentan con los permisos de acceso necesario
considere leer el apartado 8. Reinicio del dispositivo.

3.2. Nearkey app
Para poder configurar y utilizar el dispositivo, descargar la app Nearkey en App Store o en Google Play.

3.3. Configuración básica
Para la configuración de Nearkey, situarse próximo al dispositivo. Si ya es usuario de Nearkey, acceda a
la app y vaya directamente al punto 4.
1. Iniciar la aplicación e introducir un correo electrónico al que se tenga acceso en el momento de
la configuración.
2. Nearkey enviará un correo electrónico a la dirección introducida para verificar la identidad del
usuario. Comprobar la bandeja de entrada y spam.
3. Pulsar el botón entrar que parecerá en el correo electrónico, esto le redirigirá a la aplicación de
Nearkey.
4. Activar la conexión bluetooth.
5. Pulsar el botón configurar que mostrará la applicación. Si la aplicación de Nearkey no muestra
ningún dispositivo, asegúrese de lo siguiente:
•Se encuentra a una distancia en la que el bluetooth del teléfono móvil pueda detectar el
dispositivo.
•Nearkey no se haya configurado previamente y usted no tenga permisos de acceso, en
este caso el led verde de alimentación estará encendido. Considere leer el apartado 8.
Reinicio del dispositivo.
•Nearkey cuente con alimentación, si el led verde de alimentación no esta encendido,
recomendamos volver a leer el apartado 3.1. Instalación del dispositivo.
6. Introducir un nombre que permita la asociación lógica al lugar de instalación.
7. Especificar la zona horaria donde el dispositivo va a ser instalado.
8. Especificar un nombre al Actuador 1, esto aparecerá en el botón de la aplicación.
9. Modificar las características del Actuador 1 dependiendo de las necesidades de la puerta. Se
puede elegir entre los siguientes modos:
•Pulso, accionamiento puntual del relé, es la opción más habitual de accionamiento
(motores de puertas, porteros automáticos, cancelas o botones electrónicos entre otros).
Cuando pulsemos el botón de la app el relé pasará de la posición NC a NO por los
segundos que especifiquemos en el apartado Duración.
•Interruptor, modo de encendido/ apagado estático. Cuando pulsemos el botón de la app
el relé pasará de la posición NC a NO permanentemente hasta que volvamos a pulsar el
botón.
10. Comprobar el funcionamiento.
