3 Descripon
3.1 Intended use
Vacuum Blaster is for surface treatment purposes such as cleaning, paint and/or rust
removal, surface roughening and surface embellishing. This is done by direcng blasng
media with compressed air through a hose and nozzle onto the surface. The blast media
removes dirt, paint and coarser surface roughness.
3.2 Funcon
The pot of Vacuum Blaster is lled with blasng media and then pressurised. When
Vacuum Blaster is started an air ow with the same pressure starts owing underneath
the pot through the blast hose to the nozzle. Because the pot pressure and the
transportaon air pressure are the same, the blasng media can fall freely inside the
transportaon air and is directed onto the surface to be treated.

4 Installaon
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Blasng acvies can result in stac electricity and/or sparks. Consult local authories
or your supplier for suitable measures to avoid any risks.
NOTE! Always respect local regulaons regarding installaon and use of
Vacuum Blaster.
4.1 Delivery check
If there are any damaged or missing parts when the product is delivered, nofy the
carrier and the local Nederman representave immediately.
4.2 Preinstallaon
Make sure Vacuum Blaster is placed on a straight and steady surface. Take
Vacuum Blaster’s weight into account as well as the weight of blasng media and
operator.
NOTE! Do not expose Vacuum Blaster to water and/or moist since this makes the
blasng media clog.
NOTE! Dry and clean compressed air is required. An aer cooler with separator (and
lters) is necessary. In a xed execuon this can be achived with a dryer and air receiver.
4.3 Installaon
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
The compressor’s pressure must not exceed 8 bar.
Install the Vacuum Blaster as follows:
1. Mount the coarse grain separator, see gure 1 item 9, on top of the blast pot, see
gure 1 item 7.
2. Connect the vacuum air hose, see gure 1 item 10.
NOTE! Before fastening the separator, rotate it so the hose does not bend.
3. Before connecng the vacuum hose, see gure 9 item 8, bend the inside spiral
copper wire outside the hose. Connect the hose to the rubber coupling on the inlet
and fasten using the clips, see gure 10.
NOTE! Make sure not to fasten the hose too ght.
4. Connect the vacuum hose to the pre separator, see gure 1 item 9.
5. Connect the blast hose, see gure 11 and gure 9 item 3.

Vacuum BlasterEN
20
NOTE! Make sure that the locking pin is secured.
6. Connect the two control hoses from an approved deadman handle or remote
control system, see see gure 9 items 9 and 10 and gure 12.
NOTE! Make sure that all hoses are in good condion and secured in their respecve
couplings. Refrain from unnecessary curves of the hoses and tension on Vacuum Blaster.
The blast hose should be laid out in a straight line or big radius curves to avoid quick wear.
7. Fasten the bag using the strap, see gure 13.
8. Inlet compressed air, see gure 1 item 11.
NOTE! Make sure that the locking pin is secured.
4.4 Inial startup
Before operang Vacuum Blaster the rst me follow all points of chapter 5. Operaon
but without the use of blasng media.
5 Operaon
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
The use of Vacuum Blaster is only allowed with the following:
• Suitable non-bleeding posive deadman handle or remote control system.
• Suitable blast hose and blast hose couplings.
• Suitable nozzle.
Contact your supplier or the manufacturer for detailed informaon.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
The operator(s) is to be equipped with approved:
• helmet or mask
• protecon goggles
• respiratory equipment
• protecve clothing
• safety shoes or boots
• gloves
• ear protecon
Also warn and/or protect people nearby the blasng process with the above items.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
Never direct the installed blast hose and nozzle towards a person.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
THE sound level can reach 125 dB at the nozzle.
Warning! Risk of personal injury.
Do not use blast media containing free silica.
