NetComm V100 Quick start guide

V100 PCTool – Peer-to-Peer
Peer-to-Peer calling requires the Telephone Book. These calls are made directly from
the caller to the receiver via an IP address rather than through the VoIP provider. Peer-
to-Peer calls can be achieved through the LAN or the internet. The procedure below
will show the LAN setup.
If you have a switch:
1. Install the PCTool software on the PC.
2. Connect the V100s and your PC to your switch via the Ethernet cable. Make sure the
WAN LED on the V100s is lit.
3. Double click on the PCTool icon on the desktop.
4. Configure each V100 accordingly. Please refer to below examples.
5. Once done, connect an analogue phone to each V100.
If you do not have a switch:
1. Install the PCTool software on the PC.
2. Connect the V100 to your PC one by one via the Ethernet cable. Make sure the WAN
LED on the V100s is lit.
3. Double click on the PCTool icon on the desktop.
4. Configure each V100 accordingly. Please refer to below examples.
5. Once done, connect an analogue phone to each V100.

Site A - Home
Site B - Office

Click on the SIP tab. Select ‘No’ for Use Proxy
Click on the Telephone book tab and click Add.
The above shows the exchange of information of the 2 sites.

- Username: The username of the person you are contacting.
- Speed Dial: A short number to dial in order to contact the person associated with that number.
- Dest. IP Address: The IP address of the person you are contacting. This can either be LAN or WAN.
- Port No.: Can be any number (Pref. 5 digits or less). It will have to match the port number of the person you
are contacting
- Display Name: Any name to identify who you are calling.
Important!!! As shown above, both parties will need to exchange these details and enter them correctly in
order to achieve Peer-to-Peer calls.
You cannot use Peer-to-Peer mode (Phone Book) and Proxy mode (VoIP Service Provider) simultaneously.
