(3)Raisethebeltintopositionatyourwaistataboutthelevelofyournavel.Closethecinchstrapbuckleandpullthewebbingsnug.
Ifyouwantthelegstrapstoopen,pullthewebbingoutoftheadjusterbuckles.Whenclosingthemagain,checkthatthefloatingretainerisin
placebeforethreadingthewebbingbackintothebuckle.Leaveatleasta3inchtailofwebbingbeyondthebuckle.
Thecinchstraponthebeltholdsthesaddleinpositiononyourbody.Toopenthebuckle,squeezethesides.Toclose,
pushthetwopartstogetheruntiltheyclick.(Youcansilencethesoundofthisbucklewithcarefulhandling.)
BUTTSTRAPADJUSTMENT
Thebuttstrapsrunbetweenthebeltandthelegpadsinbackandarecontrolledbytwo
buckles.Setthepositionofthelegpadsatapointbetweenyourkneesandyourbuttwhere
theygivegoodsupportandcomforttoyourthighswithoutcausingthestrapstobindatthe
crotch.
Toadjust:Hanginthesaddle.Atthebackofthebelt,liftthetaboneachbuckletolengthen
thestrapsalltheway.Movethelegpadstoacomfortablepositionwhereyourbalanceisgood.Thenpullontheendsofthebuttstrapstotake
outtheslack.
LEGSTRAPADJUSTMENT
Thelegstrapadjusterbucklegripsthewebbingsnuglysoitwillnotslipaccidentally.Tomakeanadjust‐
ment,pushthewebbingintothebuckletocreatealoopasshown.Toshortenthestrap,pushfromabove
thebuckleandpullouttheslackfrombelow.Tolengthenit,pushfrombelowandpullouttheslackfrom
above.Besuretoleavea3inchtailofwebbingbelowthebuckleforsafety.Note:Thelegstrapsarein‐
tendedtobelooseonyourthigh.Someclimberspreferaclosefit,whichisokayifthesaddlefeelsrightthat
way.Thebestlengthputsthelegstrapsinbalancewiththebeltsothatyousitcomfortablyuprightand
relaxedinthesaddlewhilesuspendedonrope.

BRIDGESTRAPADJUSTMENT
Thesaddlebridgehardwareisattachedtothebeltbyawebbingstrapthatpassesthroughthehardware
andbacktothebuckle.Youcansetthedistanceofthebridgefromyourbodybyadjustingthelengthof
thiswebbing.Oncethesettingisright,youcanslidethebuckleforwardtocreateasnugeyearoundthe
bridgehardware.

NFPAStandard1983recommendsseparatingtheuserinstructionsfromthesaddleandretainingtheminpermanentrecord.Thestandardalsorecommendsmaking
acopyoftheinstructionstokeepwiththesaddleandthattheinstructionsshouldbereferredtobeforeandaftereachuse.

ADJUSTTHEFITOFTHESADDLE
Adjustthefitofyoursaddlesothatyourbodyissupportedwithweightevenlydistributedbetweenbeltandlegstraps,balancedtohanguprightandrelaxed,and
withoutuncomfortablepinchingorpressure.Fitthesaddlebeforeyourfirstclimbinit,whereyoucanhangonropeclosetotheground.Makeandtestsmallad‐
justmentsuntilitfeelsright.Youonlyhavetodothisonce.Yoursettingswillstayuntilyouchangethem.
LEGSTRAPADJUSTERBUCKLE
Thelegstrapadjusterbucklegripsthelegstrapwebbingfirmlysoitwillnotslipaccidentally.Thestrapsare
designedtobeadjustedandusedwithoutopeningthem.Butifyouwanttoopenthestraps,youcan.Todo
so,pushthewebbingintothebuckle,frombelow,tocreatealoopasshown,thenpulltheloopouttofree
thewebbingfromthebuckle.
LEGSTRAPFLOATINGRETAINER
Thelegstrapsmovefreelythroughthebridgehardwareonthebelt.Shownhereisthesmallfloatingre‐
tainerthatkeepsthemotionundercontrol.Itfloatsdownthestrapwhenthesaddleisslack.Duringa
climb,itwillridenearthetopofthestrap.Note:Theretainercanslipoffifyouhaveopenedthelegstraps.
Checkthatthewebbingisthreadedthroughthisretainerwhenyouclosethestraps.However,theretainer
isnotrequiredforsafety.Someclimbersprefertoremoveitiftheylikethemotionbetterwithoutit.

SETUPTHELINEMAN’SBELT
Usealark’sheadknottoattachthelineman’sbelttotheAero
saddle.PasstheendoftheprusikslingthroughthesideDonone
sideofthesaddleanddrawthewholebeltwithsleeveandcarabiner
throughthatlooptoformthelark’shead.(It’sgoodtoputtheprusik
onthesamesideasyourstrongerhand.)Tossthebeltaroundthetree
trunkandclipthecarabinertotheothersideDonthesaddle.Grabtheprusik
knotandpulltheropethroughittoadjustthelengthofthebelt.Seethatthe
sleeveisinplacewheretheropecontactsthetrunkontheothersideofthetree.
STARTCLIMBING
Setupyourclimbingsticks*.Setupthelineman’sbelt.Asyouclimbthesticks,keeptensiononthelineman’sbelt.Asyoustephigher,raisethe
beltbyleaningclosetothetrunktoslackthebeltandflipithigheronthetrunk.Adjustthelengthofthelineman’sbeltasneededasyougo.
Whenyouhavereachedtheheightyouwant,setupthetreestrap.
*TheAerosystemdoesnotincludehunter’sclimbingsticksforascendingthetree.Youcanchoosefrommanyvarietiesathuntingsuppliers.

lineman’sbeltforclimbing,thenswitchovertotheropebridge
forthehunt.
RELEASETHELINEMAN’SBELT
Nowitissafetoreleasethelineman’sbelt.TakethecarabineroffofthesideD.It’sbesttoleavethelark’sheadtiedtotheothersideD,andstow
therestofthelineman’sbeltoutofthewayontheAerosaddle,eitherrolledupandclippedtoanaccessorylooporstuffedintoabag.
Youarenowreadytobeginyourhunt.
SETUPTHETREESTRAP
Standonyourclimbingsticksandkeeptensiononthelineman’sbelt.Throwtheloopendofthetreestrapropearoundthetrunk.
Catchtheloopanddrawthewholeropethroughit,includingtheprusikslingandcarabiner.Snubtheropetightontothetrunk.
Grabtheprusikknottoslideitontheropetoapositionhigherorlowerthatwillgiveyouthebestadvantageformotiononthe
tree.ClipthecarabinertotheropebridgeontheAerosaddle.Rolluptheendoftheropeandstowitoutoftheway.

TheAerolineman’sbeltisa10footlengthofclimbingropewitha
tripleprusikknotslingandastopperknottiedononeendanda
doublelockingcarabinerclippedintoaloopofrope(figure8ona
bight)ontheotherend.Theropeisthreadedthroughasleevethat
protectsboththeropeandthetreefromabrasiondamage,andadds
alittleweightandstiffnessforeasyhandling.

StopperKnot
Thisheavinglineknotistheoneweusetosecuretheropebridgeto
theriggingplatesonNewTriberopebridgesaddles.Itstopstherope
frompassingthroughtheholesintheriggingplate.Itisalsotiedat
thefreeendofallotherropesintheAerosystem,andinanyclimb‐
ingsystem,topreventtheropefromslippingoutofaprusikorany
otherfrictionknotordeviceusedforlifesafety.
ROPEBRIDGECONNECTION
Theropebridgeis7feetofclimbingropeconnectedtotheriggingplateswithstopperknots.Tieastop‐
perknotatoneendoftherope,leavingatleast3inchesoftailforsafety.Passthefreeendoftherope
throughthetoporcenterholeonthefirstriggingplate,fromoutsidetoinside.Thenpasstherope
throughthecorrespondingholeonthesecondriggingplate,passingfrominsidetooutside.Decidehow
longyouwantyourbridgetobeandtieasecondstopperknotoutsidetheriggingplatetogetthe
bridgelengthyouwant.Allowatleast3inchesoftailpasttheknot.
Lark’sHeadKnotisasimpleknotusedtojoinalinetojustaboutanything.FortheAeroitisused
tojointhelineman’sbelttothesideDonthesaddle.
FortheAero,tiethisaftertheprusikslingistiedtothelineman’sbeltusingatripleprusikknot.
PassthefreeendoftheprusikslingthroughthesideDanddrawtheotherendofthesling
throughit,includingthewholelengthoftheropeandthecarabiner.Pullsnug.
DoubleFisherman’sKnotisusedtotietwoendsoflinetogether.FortheAero,thisisdonetocreateapru‐
sikslingoutofasinglelengthofaccessorycord.
Tomakethisknot,takeoneendofthelineandtieadoubleoverhandknotaroundthelineneartheother
end.Repeatthiswiththeotherendoftheline.Thenpullthelines,bringingthetwoknotstogether.
Properlytiedanddressed,thetwodoubleoverhandknotsnestwitheachothertocreateasymmetrical,
verysecurejoinbetweenthetwolineends.
TriplePrusikKnot
ThisknotisaLark’sHeadknotwiththreewrapsinsteadofone.Usingtheprusik
sling,startbytyingaLark’sHeadontherope.Thenwraptheendoftheslingaround
theropeagain,tuckingitunderthefirstloop.Thenwraptheendoftheslingaround
theropeoncemore,alsotuckingitunderthefirstloop.Dresstheknotbypulling
downonthefreeendofthesling,andsmoothingandcompressingthewraps.Pullit
snug.Whencorrectlytied,theknotwillgrabtheropewhentheslingispulleddown.
Whentheslingisslack,grabtheknottoslideituptherope.Tobringtheknotdown
therope,grabtheknotitself,notthesling,andpulldown.

onthetreestrapthatisusedasaneyeforthecincharoundthetrunk.Toformthebight,
doubletheropewiththebendat24”fromtheend.Takethebight,turnitundertherope,
thenoveritandbackthroughthefirstturnfrombeneath.Pullonthebightanddressthe
knotsmoothandtight.Seethattheendoftheropeextendsatleast3inchespasttheknot.
Youcancontrolthesizeoftheloopcreatedbythisknot.Onthelineman’sbelt,makea
smalllooptocarrythecarabiner.Onthetreestrap,makethelooplargeenoughtoeasily
pulltheentireropethroughit,includingtheprusikloopandcarabiner.

InspectionandretirementInspectyoursaddleforsignsofwearanddamagebeforeandaftereachuse.Itisvitallyimportantthatyoursaddle
beingoodcondition.Adamagedsaddlemustberetiredimmediately.Anytimeyouretireapieceofgear,destroyittopreventfutureuse.
SafelifeexpectancyThenyloncomponentsofclimbingequipmentdegradeovertime.Sevenyearsisconsideredthesafeshelflifeofnylon
climbingequipmentwhenitisstoredproperlyandneverused.Withnormaluseandpropercare,thesafelife
expectancyofyoursaddleisapproximatelythreeyears,andcanbelongerorshorterdependingonhowfrequentlyyouuseit
andontheconditionsofitsuse.
MaintenanceandstorageIfthesaddlebecomessoiled,itcanbewashedincoldwaterwithamildnon‐detergentsoap.Hangtodryinawell‐
ventilatedareaoutofdirectsunlight.Donotdryinanautomaticdryer.Preventexposuretoflameorhightemperatures.Keepthesaddleina
clean,dry,darkplaceoffofconcreteandawayfromacids,alkalis,exhaustemissions,rustandstrongchemicals.Ifthesaddlebecomeswet,allow
todrycompletelybeforestoring.
RepairsandAlterationsWerecommendthatallrepairworkbedonebyNewTribe.Allotherrepairworkormodificationofthesaddlemay
voidthewarrantyandreleasesNewTribe,Inc.fromallliabilityandresponsibilityasthemanufacturer.
