§2 PRECAUTIONS
<General precautions>
• Servicing should be performed by NIDEK service persons or other qualified personnel.
• Perform all servicing according to the procedures described in this manual. Failure to do
so may cause unexpected accident or malfunction.
• During servicing, turn off the system power unless necessary and disconnect the power
code.
• Do not wipe the covers with organic solvents such as a thinner. The exterior might loss
the quality with the surface affected.
<Precautions during servicing>
• If malfunction occurs, check the symptom and turn the power off.
• Do not drop parts and screws inside the CP-770 and take care not to bump the CP-770.
• Prepare a case for storing the screws and parts in order not to lose them.
• Use a suitable tool to screw or unscrew a screw.
• When removing a screw where a threadlocking is applied, apply a threadlocking again
to the thread before tightening the screw.
• When replacing parts, check that all parts are secured in original positions before turning
the power on.
• If the CP-770 produces smoke or strange odors, immediately turn off the power and
disconnect the electrical plug from the outlet, and check the causes.
Using the system under such abnormal conditions may cause fire, electric shock and
complete malfunction.
• Be careful for electric shock where the electric shock mark is attached. The part is a
high voltage.
• In §3 TROUBLESHOOTING, when checking a break in a cable, also check the following
according to the wiring diagram and connector cable.
1. Proper connections and crimping
2. Proper contact by connecting and disconnecting connectors
3. Proper soldering
* Do not yank the cables with excessive force. Doing so could cause breakage.
* Do not perform servicing with wet hands. Doing so could cause electric shock or
malfunction.
