Avoid touching the aerial while it is in use. Contact with antennas affects the communication
quality and may reduce battery life due to higher power level during operation.
Do not connect to products that create an output signal, as this may damage the device. Do
not connect any voltage source to the audio connector. If you connect an external device
or headset, other than those approved for use with this device, to the audio connector, pay
special attention to volume levels. Parts of the device are magnetic. Metallic materials may be
attracted to the device. Do not place credit cards or other magnetic storage media near the
device, because information stored on them may be erased.
Some of the accessories mentioned in this user guide, such as charger, headset, or data cable,
may be sold separately.
Note: The pre-set security code is 12345. To switch on the security code, select Menu >
Settings > Security settings > Phone security , enter the code 12345 and select OK , and
then select On . To change the security code, select Menu > Settings > Security settings
> Change codes > Change security code , enter the current security code and select OK .
Enter your new code and select OK , then enter the new code again and select OK . When you
change the code, you need to remember the new code, as HMD Global is not able to open or
bypass it.
SET UP AND SWITCH ON YOUR PHONE
Mini SIM
Important: This device is designed to be used with a mini SIM card (see figure) only. Use of
incompatible SIM cards may damage the card or the device, and may corrupt data stored on
the card.
Note: Switch the device off and disconnect the charger and any other device before removing
any covers. Avoid touching electronic components while changing any covers. Always store
and use the device with any covers attached.

Insert the SIM card
1. Place your fingernail in the small slot at the bottom of the phone, then lift and remove the
cover.
2. If the battery is in the phone, take it out.
3. Slide the SIM card in the SIM card slot.

If you have a dual-SIM phone, slide the second SIM in the SIM2 slot. Both SIM cards are
available at the same time if neither of them is being used, but while one SIM card is active, for
example, making a call, the other may be unavailable.
Tip: To find out if your phone can use 2 SIM cards, see the label on the sales box. If there are
2 IMEI codes on the label, you have a dual-SIM phone.
Insert the memory card
1. If you have a memory card, slide it into the memory card slot.
2. Put the battery back in.
3. Put back the cover.
Switch on your phone
Press and hold .
CHARGE YOUR PHONE
Your battery has been partially charged at the factory, but you may need to recharge it before
you can use your phone.

Charge the battery
1. Plug the charger into a wall outlet.
2. Connect the charger to the phone. When done, unplug the charger from the phone and then
from the wall outlet.
If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging
indicator is displayed.
Tip: You can use USB charging when a wall outlet is not available. Data can be transferred
while charging the device. The efficiency of USB charging power varies significantly and it
may take a long time for charging to start and the device to start functioning. Make sure your
computer is switched on.
KEYPAD
Use the phone keys
• To see your phone’s apps and features,
select Menu on the home screen.
• To go to an app or feature, press the scroll
key up, down, left, or right. To open an app
or feature, press the scroll key.
• To go back to the home screen, press the
end key .
• To change the volume of your phone,
press the volume up or volume down key.
• To switch on the flashlight, on the home
screen, press the scroll key up twice. To
switch it off, scroll up once. Do not shine
the light in anyone’s eyes.
Lock the keypad
To avoid accidentally pressing the keys, lock the keypad: select Go to > Lock keypad . To
unlock the keypad, press , and select Unlock .
WRITE TEXT
Write using the keypad
Press a key repeatedly until the letter is shown.
To type in a space press the 0 key.
To type in a special character or punctuation mark, press the * key, or if you are using
predictive text, press and hold the * key.
To switch between character cases, press the # key repeatedly.
To type a number, press and hold a number key.

CALLS
Make a call
Learn how to make a call with your new phone.
1. Type in the phone number. To type in the + character, used for international calls, and press
* twice.
2. Press . If asked, select which SIM to use.
3. To end the call, press .
Answer a call
Press .
Tip: If you are in a situation where you cannot answer the phone and you need to silence it
quickly, select Silence .
CONTACTS
Add a contact
Save and organise your friends’ phone numbers.
1. Choose Menu > > Add .
2. Enter the name and the number.
3. Choose Save .
To add more contacts, choose Options > Add new contact .
Save a contact from the call log
1. Choose Menu > > Missed , Received , or Dialled , depending on from where you want to
save the contact.
2. Scroll to the number you want to save, choose Options > Save , and choose where you
want to save the contact.
3. Add the contact’s name, check that the phone number is correct, and choose Save .

Call a contact
You can call a contact directly from the contact list.
Select Menu > , scroll to the contact you want to call, then press the Call key.
SEND MESSAGES
Write and send messages
1. Choose Menu > > Create message .
2. In the To field, enter the number of the
recipient, or choose Add > Contacts to
add recipients from your contacts list.
3. Enter the message in the message field.
4. To insert images to the message or to use
predictive text, choose Options . To insert
smileys or symbols, choose Options >

5. Choose Send .

CHANGE TONES
Set new tones
1. Choose Menu > > Tones .
2. Choose which tone you want to change and choose which SIM card you want to change it
for, if asked.
3. Scroll to the tone that you want and choose OK .
CHANGE THE LOOK OF YOUR HOME SCREEN
Choose a new wallpaper
You can change the background of your home screen.
1. Choose Menu > > Display settings > Wallpaper .
2. Choose Default , scroll to the wallpaper you want, and choose View
3. If you like the wallpaper, choose Choose and then choose how you want to position the
wallpaper on the home screen.
Tip: You can also use a photo you’ve taken or received as wallpaper. Choose Menu > >
Display settings > Wallpaper > Photos .
Show date and time
You can choose to see the date and time on the home screen of your phone.
Choose Menu > > Date and time > Show date and time > On .
If you want your phone to update the time automatically, set Auto-update time on.
Tip: You can also set your phone to show the time even in the idle mode. Choose Menu >
> Display settings > Glance screen > On .
PROFILES
Your phone has different profiles for different situations. You can edit the profiles to your
liking.

Personalise profiles
There are several profiles that you can use in different situations. There is, for example, a
silent profile for when you cannot have sounds on and an outdoor profile with loud tones.
You can personalise profiles further.
1. Select Menu > > Profiles .
2. Select a profile and Personalise .
For each profile you can set a specific ringtone, ringtone volume, message sounds, and so on.
ADD SHORTCUTS
You can add shortcuts to different apps and settings on your home screen.
Edit Go to settings
On the bottom left of your home screen is Go to , which contains shortcuts to various apps
and settings. Choose the shortcuts that are the handiest for you.
1. Choose Menu > > Go to settings .
2. Choose Choose options .
3. Scroll to each shortcut you want to have on the Go to list and choose Mark .
4. Choose Done > Yes to save the changes.
You can also reorganise your Go to list.
1. Choose Organise .
2. Scroll to the item you want to move, choose Move and where you want to move it.
3. Choose Back > Yes to save the changes.
GET THE MOST OUT OF THE TWO SIM CARDS
Select which SIM card to use
Choose Menu > > Connectivity > Dual SIM .
• To choose which SIM to use for calls, choose Call , and choose Always ask , or SIM1 , or
SIM2 .
• To choose which SIM to use for messages, choose Message , and choose Always ask , or
SIM1 , or SIM2 .

Take a photo
1. Choose Menu > .
2. To zoom in or out, scroll up or down.
3. To take a photo, choose .
Camera options
Choose Menu > >, and choose the option you want, such as Brightness or
Image effects .

1. Choose Menu > .
2. Scroll left and choose .
3. To stop the video, choose .

BROWSE THE WEB
Connect to the Internet
1. Choose Menu > .
2. Enter a web address, and choose Go .
3. Use the scroll key to move in the browser.
BLUETOOTH®
Connect your phone to other devices with Bluetooth.
Switch on Bluetooth
1. Choose Menu > > Connectivity > Bluetooth .
2. Switch Bluetooth to On .
3. Choose Paired to find a new device or a device you have paired your phone with previously,
or choose Active to see a list of devices available for connecting.

MUSIC PLAYER
You can listen to your MP3 music files with the music player.
Listen to music
1. Choose Menu > .
2. Scroll to a song and choose Play .
To adjust the volume, use the volume keys. To fast-forward the song, press the fast forward
key. To rewind the song, press the rewind key. To stop playing, press the stop key. To choose a
different music style, choose Options > Equaliser .
Tip: To set a song as ringtone, choose Options > Use as tone .
LISTEN TO RADIO
Listen to your favourite radio stations
1. Choose Menu > .
2. To search for all available stations choose OK .
To change the volume, scroll up or down. To move between available stations, press the fast
forward or rewind key. To save a station, choose Options > Save station , give the station
a name, and choose a location for it. To switch to a saved station, press the corresponding
number key on the phone’s keypad. To close the radio, press the stop key.
Tip: You can listen to the radio without a headset as an antenna, but if you insert a headset to
your phone, the performance of the radio improves.

SET THE TIME AND DATE MANUALLY
You can set your phone clock manually.
Change the time and date
1. Choose Menu > > Date and time .
2. Switch Auto-update time to Off .
3. To set the time, choose Time . Use the scroll key to set the time and choose OK .
4. To set the date, choose Date . Use the scroll key to set the date and choose OK .
ALARM CLOCK
Learn how to use the alarm clock to wake up and get to places on time.
Set an alarm
No clock around? Use your phone as an alarm clock.
1. Choose Menu > .
2. Choose a pre-set alarm.
3. To set the alarm on, choose On , or to set a new time, choose Edit and use the keypad to
enter the time.
4. Choose Save .
CALENDAR
Need to remember an event? Add it to your calendar.
Add a calendar event
1. Choose Menu > .
2. Scroll to a date, and choose Options > Add event .
3. Enter the event details, and choose Save .

CALCULATOR
Learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with your phone’s calculator.
How to calculate
1. Select Menu > .
2. Enter the first factor of your calculation, use the scroll key to select the operation, and
enter the second factor.
3. Select Equals to get the result of the calculation.
Select Clear to empty the number fields.

10 Erase your phone’s data
RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS
Reset your phone
You can restore the original factory settings, but be careful, since this reset removes all data
you have saved in the phone’s memory and all of your personalisation.
If you are disposing your phone, note that you are responsible of removing all private content.
To reset your phone to its original settings and to remove all your data, on the home screen,
type in *#7370#. If asked, enter your security code.

Switch the device off when mobile phone use is not allowed or when it may cause interference

Obey all local laws. Always keep your hands free to operate the vehicle while driving. Your first
