The place to manage your account and learn
about 3services – direct from your mobile.
Press and select My3
If you’re a Pay Monthly customer you can:
■ Check your usage: for a quick snapshot of your
bill and to see how many minutes and messages
you have left per month.
■ Manage your account: see what you’ve spent
each month, check how to pay your bill, see what
price plan you’re on and view recent bills.
■ Manage your details: you can update your
personal details including your address.
■ Manage your alerts: set up alerts to keep you
up to date on the stuff you love.
If you’re a Pay As You Go customer you can:
■ Check your balance: for a quick snapshot of
how much cash, minutes and messages you
have left.
■ Top-up your account: to buy a Top-up at
anytime you like. You’ll need to register your
debit or credit card details.
■ Buy an Add-on: convert your Top-ups to
Add-ons by going to My3.
■ Manage your account: register your debit or
credit card details. After seven days you’ll be able
to buy a Top-up at any time you like.

Make calls
>Enter the number.
>Press for voice calls.
>Press Options > Video call for video calls.
>Press to end a call.
Receive calls
>To answer a call press .
>Press to end a call.
>During a video call, you’ll see a large picture of
the other person and a small picture of how you
look to them in the top right of the screen.
>To stop the other person from seeing you
select .
Set up voicemail and videomail
>To set up voicemail: press and hold .
Follow the voice prompts to choose a PIN
and record your greeting.
>To set up videomail: press and hold .
Follow the voice prompts to record your video
greeting. The caller will see your video greeting
when you can’t answer a video call.

Text, multimedia and email messages
>Press and select Messaging. Select
Create message > Message.
Send a text or multimedia message
>To send a text: enter phone number next
to To. Scroll to message box and write the
message. Press to send the message.
>To send a multimedia message to a mobile or
email address: enter phone number or email
address next to To. Scroll to the icons (Image or
Sound clip or Video clip) at bottom of the
screen and select Insert. Select folder and your
preferred file. Select Insert and press to send
the message.
Send and receive emails
>To send an email you first need to set up email
on your phone – see page 8.
>Press and select Messaging. Select
Create message > E-mail message.
>Enter email address next to To. Scroll to message
box and write the message. Press to send the
message.
Retrieve and reply an email
>To retrieve an email: press Messaging > 3Mail >
Options > Retrieve e-mail > New or All.
>To reply to an email: scroll to the email and press
> Options > Reply.
Browse into mail
>Press > > Email >
Mail.
From the browser you can send emails and
view and manage emails, voicemails, faxmails
and contacts.

>To cycle between lower case, upper case
and predictive text press .
>To enter numbers press the specific key

Set up your username
To set up your 3mail you need to have set up a
voicemail PIN first.
>Press > > Email >
Mail.
>Scroll to Enter username and press . Key in
your preferred username (eg johnsmith), scroll
down to Done and press . Then press .
>Once your username has been accepted your
email address will be displayed (eg
[email protected]om).
Collect emails from other accounts
To collect emails from other accounts you need to
set up your POP3 email account.
>Press > > Email >
Mail. > Settings > Manage
other mail > Add new account.
>Scroll to Name this account, click or the text
prompt and enter a name for the account. Then
do the same in turn for POP3 server address,
POP3 Username, and POP3 user password,
select Done and press .
You can check these details with your
email/internet service provider.
You’re now ready to collect emails
from another email account.
Take and send photos
>Press (right hand side of handset).
>Press (up or down) to select Image or
video mode.
>Press (left or right) to pan and zoom.
>Press or to take a photo.
>Press to send photo and follow menu.
You can control light, brightness, quality, flash
and duration. In Image mode press Options.
View photos, video clips or audio files
>> Gallery > Images or Video clips
> select your preferred file.
Add a photo to your contact
You can associate a photo with a contact stored on
the mobile.
>Highlight the contact > Options > Edit contact
> Options > Add detail > Image > Open
Gallery > Images select your preferred image
> Close > Yes.
Play a music file
>From the start screen, scroll down to Music
Player and press .
>Select Artists or Albums.
>Select Tracks and press Play.
You can use the navigation key as a music control key.

Take and send video clips
>Press .
>Press (up or down) to select image or
video mode.
>Press (left or right) to pan and zoom.
>Press start video recording and press Stop
(right soft key) to stop recording.
>Press to send video and follow menu.
You can control light, brightness, quality, flash
and duration. In Video mode press Options.
Share video clips – SeeMe TV
SeeMe TV is a new channel on 3where you’re the
star. Simply record a clip and submit it. We’ll publish
it if we can, and if someone pays to watch it you’ll
even be paid.
>Take a video, then send it to 32323.
Watch SeeMe TV
>Press >>
Meet&Share > SeeMeTV.
>Scroll to your preferred topic and then
select the clip.
Take video clips and share them
You must get permission from anyone in your
video before you send it. By sending a video
you agree to SeeMe TV’s other rules (see
three.co.uk/seemetv for full terms and
conditions, and info on how you will be paid).
It costs 50p to send a video to 32323.

You’ll need: Windows 2000 Professional or XP;
250MB of hard disk space; a USB port and
CD-ROM drive.
Install Nokia PC Suite file transfer software
>Load the Nokia PC Suite CD that came with your
mobile on to your PC.
>Select Nokia PC Suite and click Install. The
installation should begin automatically. Follow
the Wizard to install.
Connect your mobile and PC
>Click .
>At the Welcome to Get Connected wizard
screen, click Next and follow the Wizard to install.
>Select Cable connection and click Next.
>Connect your mobile and PC using the USB cable.
>On your Nokia 6500, select PC Suite and it will
automatically install drivers to connect your
mobile and PC.
>Follow the Wizard to install.
Select PC Application to synchronise
>Right click on Nokia PC Suite at
the bottom right corner of your PC and then
select Synchronise.
>Select Settings.
>Select the PC application, eg Microsoft Outlook,
to synchronise with your mobile. Click Next.
>Select which items you want to synchronise,
eg Calendar or Contact items. Then click Next
and follow the instructions.
>Synchronisation will automatically start.

Get the most from your battery
>You can recharge your battery several hundred
times before it will need replacing and you don’t
need to fully discharge it before recharging.
>Don’t expose the battery charger to direct
sunlight or use in areas of high humidity such as a
bathroom. Battery life will decrease if you expose
it to temperatures below -10°C or above 45°C.
>If you charge your battery regularly and you
notice a decrease in talk time or an increase in
charging time, then it’s probably time to buy a
new battery.

>Connect your mobile and PC using the USB cable.
>On your Nokia 6500, select PC Suite.
>Click on Synchronise at the bottom right
corner of your PC. In the pop up menu, select
Synchronise Now to synchronise contacts and
calendar between your mobile and PC.
Transfer images and videos
>Connect your mobile and PC using the USB cable.
>On your Nokia 6500, select PC Suite.
>Right click on Nokia PC Suite at the bottom
right corner of your PC and then select File
manager to synchronise contacts and calendar
between your mobile and PC.
>Then drag and drop relevant picture, audio, video
between your mobile and PC.

Transfer files between your mobile and PC
Indicates that the mobile is
connected to the PC. Right click
on to select Synchronise.
Please note that transferring copyright-
protected content, eg music and football
videos, without the copyright owner’s
consent is against the law and it breaks
your agreement with 3.
Before you go abroad
Pay Monthly customers need to call 3 customer
services to set up your mobile for international
roaming before you leave the UK. We’ll need to
run a credit check.
Pay As You Go customers’ international roaming
capability is already activated.
