Chapter 1: Safety Guidance
T is c apter provides important safety information related to t e use of t e 12-c annel
electrocardiograp .
1.1 Intended Use/Indications for Use
T e intended use of NECG-12C 12-c annel electrocardiograp ( ereinafter called NECG-12C) is
to acquire ECG signals from adult and pediatric patients t roug body surface ECG electrodes.
T e electrocardiograp is only intended to be used in ospitals or ealt care facilities by doctors
and trained ealt care professionals. T e cardiogram recorded by t e electrocardiograp can elp
users to analyze and diagnose eart disease. However, t e interpreted ECG wit measurements
and interpretive statements is offered to clinicians on an advisory basis only.

1. This equip ent is not designed for internal use or direct cardiac application.
2. This equip ent is not intended for ho e use.
3. This equip ent is not intended for treat ent or onitoring.
4. This equip ent is intended for use on adult and pediatric patients only.
5. The results given by the equip ent should be exa ined based on the overall clinical
condition of the patient, and they can not substitute for regular checking.
1.2 Warnings and Cautions
In order to use t e electrocardiograp safely and effectively, and avoid possible dangers caused
by improper operation, please read t roug t e user manual and be sure to be familiar wit all
functions of t e equipment and proper operation procedures before use.
Please pay more attention to t e following warning and caution information.
1.2.1 Safety Warnings

1. The electrocardiograph is intended to be used by qualified physicians or personnel
professionally trained. They should be fa iliar with the contents of this user anual
before operation.

2. Only qualified service engineers can install this equip ent, and only service
engineers authorized by the anufacturer can open the shell. Otherwise, safety
hazards ay happen.
3. EXPLOSIO HAZARD - Do not use the electrocardiograph in the presence of
fla able anesthetic ixtures with oxygen or other fla able agents.
4. SHOCK HAZARD - The power receptacle ust be a hospital grade grounded outlet.
Never try to adapt the three-prong plug to fit a two-slot outlet. This equip ent ust
only be connected to a supply ains with protective earth.
5. Make sure that the power is turned off and the power cord is disconnected fro the
AC socket before connecting or disconnecting equip ent. Otherwise, electrical shock
or other injuries ay happen to the patient or operator.
6. If the integrity of the external protective conductor is in doubt, the equip ent should
be powered by an internal li-ion rechargeable battery.
7. Do not use this equip ent in the presence of high static electricity or high voltage
equip ent which ay generate sparks.
8. Only the patient cable and other accessories supplied by the anufacturer can be
used. Or else, the perfor ance and electric shock protection can not be guaranteed.
9. Make sure that all electrodes are connected to the patient correctly before operation.
10. Ensure that the conductive parts of electrodes and associated connectors, including
neutral electrodes, do not co e in contact with earth or any other conducting objects.
11. Disposable electrodes ust be used during defibrillation.
12. Electrodes of dissi ilar etals should not be used; otherwise it ay cause a high
polarization voltage.
13. The disposable electrodes can only be used for one ti e.
14. The electrocardiograph has been safety tested with the reco ended accessories,
peripherals, and leads, and no hazard is found when the electrocardiograph is
operated with cardiac pace akers or other sti ulators.
15. Do not touch the patient, bed, table or the equip ent while using the ECG together
with a defibrillator.
16. Do not touch accessible parts of non- edical electrical equip ent and the patient
si ultaneously.

17. The use of equip ent that applies high frequency voltages to the patient (including
electrosurgical equip ent and so e respiration transducers) is not supported and
ay produce undesired results. Disconnect the patient data cable fro the
electrocardiograph, or detach the leads fro the patient prior to perfor ing any
procedure that uses high frequency surgical equip ent.
18. Fix attention on the exa ination to avoid issing i portant ECG waves.
19. SHOCK HAZARD - Don’t connect non- edical electrical equip ent, which has been
supplied as a part of the syste , directly to the wall outlet when the non- edical
equip ent is intended to be supplied by a ultiple portable socket-outlet with an
isolation transfor er.
20. SHOCK HAZARD - Don’t connect electrical equip ent, which has not been supplied
as a part of the syste , to the ultiple portable socket-outlet supplying the syste .
21. Do not connect any equip ent or accessories that are not approved by the
anufacturer or that are not IEC/EN 60601-1-1 approved to the electrocardiograph.
The operation or use of non-approved equip ent or accessories with the
electrocardiograph is not tested or supported, and electrocardiograph operation and
safety are not guaranteed.
22. Any non- edical equip ent (such as the external printer) is not allowed to be used
within the patient vicinity (1.5 /6ft.).
23. Do not exceed the axi u per itted load when using the ultiple portable
socket-outlet(s) to supply the syste .
24. Multiple portable socket-outlets shall not be placed on the floor.
25. Do not use the additional ultiple portable socket-outlet or extension cord in the
edical electrical syste , unless it’s specified as part of the syste by anufacturer.
And the ultiple portable socket-outlets provided with the syste shall only be used
for supplying power to equip ent which is intended to for part of the syste .
26. Accessory equip ent connected to the analog and digital interfaces ust be certified
according to the respective IEC/EN standards (e.g. IEC/EN 60950 for data processing
equip ent and IEC/EN 60601-1 for edical equip ent). Further ore all
configurations shall co ply with the valid version of the standard IEC/EN 60601-1-1.
Therefore anybody, who connects additional equip ent to the signal input or output
connector to configure a edical syste , ust ake sure that it co plies with the
require ents of the valid version of the syste standard IEC/EN 60601-1-1. If in
doubt, consult our technical service depart ent or your local distributor.

27. Parts and accessories used ust eet the require ents of the applicable IEC/EN
601 series safety standards, and/or the syste configuration ust eet the
require ent of the IEC/EN 60601-1-1 edical electrical syste s standard.
28. Connecting any accessory (such as external printer) or other device (such as the
co puter) to this electrocardiograph akes a edical syste . In that case, additional
safety easures should be taken during installation of the syste , and the syste
shall provide:
a) Within the patient environ ent, a level of safety co parable to that provided by
edical electrical equip ent co plying with IEC/EN 60601-1, and
b) Outside the patient environ ent, the level of safety appropriate for non- edical
electrical equip ent co plying with other IEC or ISO safety standards.
29. If ultiple instru ents are connected to a patient, the su of the leakage currents
ay exceed the li its given in the IEC/EN 60601-1 and ay pose a safety hazard.
Consult your service personnel.
30. The potential equalization bar can be connected to that of other equip ent when
necessary. Make sure that all the equip ent is connected to the potential equalization
ter inal.
31. The electrocardiograph shall not be serviced or aintained while in use with a patient.
32. The appliance coupler or ains plug is used as isolation eans fro supply ains.
Position the electrocardiograph in a location where the operator can easily access the
disconnection device.
1.2.2 Li-ion Battery Care Warnings

1. I proper operation ay cause the internal li-ion battery (hereinafter called battery) to
be hot, ignited or exploded, and it ay lead to the decrease of the battery capacity. It
is necessary to read the user anual carefully and pay ore attention to warning
essages.
2. Only qualified service engineers authorized by the anufacturer can open the battery
co part ent and replace the battery, and batteries of the sa e odel and
specification should be used.
3. DA GER OF EXPLOSIO -- Do not reverse the anode and the cathode when
installing the battery.

4. Do not heat or splash the battery or throw it into fire or water.
5. Do not destroy the battery; Do not pierce battery with a sharp object such as a needle;
Do not hit with a ha er, step on or throw or drop to cause strong shock; Do not
disasse ble or odify the battery.
6. When leakage or foul s ell is found, stop using the battery i ediately. If your skin or
cloth co es into contact with the leakage liquid, cleanse it with clean water at once. If
the leakage liquid splashes into your eyes, do not wipe the . Irrigate the with clean
water first and go to see a doctor i ediately.
7. Properly dispose of or recycle the depleted battery according to local regulations.
8. Only when the device is off can the battery be installed or re oved.
9. Re ove the battery fro the electrocardiograph when the electrocardiograph isn’t
used for a long ti e.
10. If the battery is stored alone and not used for a long ti e, we reco end that the
battery be charged at least once every 6 onths to prevent overdischarge.
1.2.3 General Cautions
CAUTIO
1. Avoid liquid splash and excessive te perature. The te perature ust be kept
between 5 ºC and 40 ºC during operation, and it should be kept between -20 ºC and
55 ºC during transportation and storage.
2. Do not use the equip ent in a dusty environ ent with bad ventilation or in the
presence of corrosive.
3. Make sure that there is no intense electro agnetic interference source around the
equip ent, such as radio trans itters or obile phones etc. Attention: large edical
electrical equip ent such as electrosurgical equip ent, radiological equip ent and
agnetic resonance i aging equip ent etc. is likely to bring electro agnetic
interference.
4. Ruptured fuse ust only be replaced with that of the sa e type and rating as the
original.

CAUTIO
5. The device and accessories are to be disposed of according to local regulations after
their useful lives. Alternatively, they can be returned to the dealer or the anufacturer
for recycling or proper disposal. Batteries are hazardous waste. Do NOT dispose of
the together with house-hold garbage. At the end of their lives hand the batteries
over to the applicable collection points for the recycling of waste batteries. For ore
detailed infor ation about recycling of this product or battery, please contact your
local Civic Office, or the shop where you purchased the product.

Chapter 2: Introduction
NECG-12C gat ers ECG signals of 12 leads simultaneously. It displays t e operation menu, ECG
parameters as well as electrocardiograms.
T e 12-c annel ECG waves can be viewed on t e LCD screen and printed out by using a
ig -quality t ermal recorder. T e sampled ECG data can be saved, transmitted and exported.
T e manual, auto, r yt m, R-R analysis or off mode can be c osen freely.
NECG-12C can be powered by t e mains supply or t e battery.
Wit a ig resolution t ermal recorder, a 32-bit processor and a large-capacity memorizer,
NECG-12C as advanced performance and ig reliability. T e compact size makes it suitable
for clinic and ospital uses.
NECG-12C adopts 800×480 multicolor LCD screen.
Configuration: main unit, power cord, patient cable, c est electrodes, limb electrodes, disposable
electrodes, alligator clips, t ermal recorder paper, fuses, battery.

OTE: The syste will not respond to the REVIEW key
unless 10s data has been collected on the ain screen.
H PRINT/STOP Press to start or stop printing reports
I 1mV/COPY
In t e manual mode, pressing t e 1mV/COPY key can insert a
1mV calibration mark in t e printing course.
In t e auto or r yt m mode, pressing t e 1mV/COPY key can
print t e ECG report w ic was printed out last time.
J RESET
Press to reset t e baseline.
OTE: A large polarization voltage ay cause baseline
drift. On the ain screen, pressing the RESET key can
decrease the polarization voltage and draw the baseline to
zero quickly.
K FEED Paper
W en t e main screen, t e freezing screen, t e File Manager
screen1/2 or t e preview screen is displayed, if Paper Marker
is set to Yes, you can press t e F D key to advance t e
recorder paper to t e next black marker; if Paper Marker is set
to No, you can press t e F D key to advance t e paper for
2.5cm. Press t e F D key again to stop advancing t e paper.

L MODE
Press to select a working mode among t e auto, manual,
r yt m, R-R analysis and off modes.
OTE: Only if a working ode is selected in the Work
Mode Setup window, can the working ode be selected
by pressing the MODE key when the ain screen is
displayed.
M Space Press to add a space between typed c aracters or select/deselect
a c eckbox
N S ift
Press S ift and a numeric key to input t e special c aracter in
t e top left corner of t e key.
