Installation Instructions
Determine where you want to mount the gate. For optimum safety,
the mounting location must be a solid wood or metal surface.
Do not mount the gate less than 2" (5 cm) or more than 3" (7.6 cm)
above the floor.
1. Using adhesive tape, attach the mounting template on the solid
wood surface that you have chosen for the hinged side of the gate.
Make sure the mounting template is in a straight vertical position
(Fig. 1).
2. Drill four 1/8" (3 mm) diameter pilot holes approximately 3/4" (2 cm)
deep into the mounting surface at the marks on the template.
3. Remove the template from the wall.
4. Using the #10 x 3/4" (2 cm) hinge screws provided, attach the two
Hinge Brackets to the mounting surface as shown in Fig. 2.
5. Attach the gate to the Hinge Brackets by sliding the hinge side of
the gate down through the Hinge Brackets until the gate is securely
seated (Fig. 3).
6. On the opposite side of the opening, make a mark for mounting
the bottom screw eye 6" (15.2 cm) up from the top of the flooring
or carpet (Fig. 4).
7. Measure up exactly 23-3/8" (59.5 cm) from the bottom mark
and make a mark for the top screw eye (Fig. 4).

screw eyes into each hole until no thread is visible.

9. Attach the gate by inserting the hook into lower screw eye (Fig. 5)
and secure the locking latch to the top screw eye (Fig. 6).
Your Stairway Swing Gate is a hinge mounted gate that, when
installed correctly, should not swing out over a stairway or into a
heavy traffic area. Before proceeding with your installation, refer to
Fig. 7 to determine which way you want your gate to swing.
10. Position the solid surface of the swing stop toward the hazard
(the direction you want to prevent the gate from swinging into).
Using the #10 x 1/2" (1.2 cm) screws provided, attach the swing stop
to the top rail of the gate (Fig. 7).
Operating Instructions:
To open gate, unlock the locking latch, raise gate to clear the hook
and swing out of the way. The gate may be quickly and easily
removed from the opening by unlocking the latch and lifting the
gate out of the hinge brackets.

Décidez où placer la barrière. Pour une sécurité optimale, la barrière
doit être installée sur un matériau solide comme le bois ou le métal.
N’installez pas la barrière à moins de 5 cm (2 po) ni à plus de 7,6
cm (3 po) du plancher.
1. À l’aide de ruban adhésif, fixez le gabarit de montage sur la
surface en bois solide que vous avez choisie pour installer le côté
articulé de la barrière. Assurez-vous que le gabarit de montage est
parfaitement à la verticale (Fig. 1).
2. Percez quatre avant-trous mesurant 3 mm (1/8 po) de diamètre et
environ 2 cm (3/4 po) de profondeur dans la surface de montage sur les
marques faites à l’aide du gabarit.
3. Enlevez le gabarit du mur.
4. Utilisez les vis no 10 de 2 cm (3/4po) fournies pour poser les
deux fixations de charnière sur la surface de montage comme
l’indique la figure 2.
5. Installez la porte sur les fixations de charnière en glissant son
côté charnière vers le bas dans les fixations jusqu’à ce que la porte
soit solidement appuyée (Fig. 3).
6. Du côté opposé de l’ouverture, faites une marque pour fixer la vis
à oeilleton inférieure, a 15,2 cm (6 po) du plancher ou de la
moquette (Fig. 4).
7. Mesurez exactement 59,5 cm (23 3/8 po) à partir de la marque
inférieure et faites une marque pour la vis à oeilleton supérieure
(Fig. 4).
8. À l’aide d’une perceuse électrique et d’une mèche de 3 mm (1/8
po), percez deux avant-trous d’environ 2 cm (3/4 po) de profondeur
pour les vis à oeilleton. Insérez une vis à oeilleton dans chaque
trou jusqu’à ce que le filetage ne soit plus visible.
9. Attachez la barrière en insérant le crochet dans la vis à oeilleton
inférieure (Fig. 5) et en fixant le le verrou à la vis à oeilleton supérieure
(Fig. 6).
Votre barrière battante pour escalier est une barrière à charnière
qui, lorsqu’elle est installée correctement, ne devrait pas pivoter
au-dessus d’un escalier ou vers l’endroit très passant de la maison
dont vous souhaitez bloquer l’accès. Avant de continuer
l’installation, consultez la figure 7 pour déterminer dans quel sens
faire pivoter la barrière.
10. Places la face pleine du butoir de la barrière du côté du danger
(la direction vers laquelle vous ne voulez pas que la barrière
pivote). Utilisez les vis no 10 de 1,2 cm (1/2 po) fournies pour fixer le
butoir sur la traverse supérieure de la barrière (Fig. 7).
Pour ouvrir la barrière, déverrouillez-la, soulevez-la pour dégager
le crochet, puis faites-la pivoter. Il est possible d’enlever la barrière
rapidement et facilement de l’ouverture en la déverrouillant, puis en
la soulevant pour la détacher des fixations de charnière.
