Safety Information
Use only the Numera-provided power cord with
your Libris.
Do not operate your Libris if there is a gas leak
nearby.
Locate your Libris and connection lines in a place
where no one can trip on a cord. Make sure that all
cords are not frayed, walked upon, or pinched by
other objects.
Do not modify your Libris in any way.
Do not dismantle your Libris at any time, as this
will void the warranty.
Libris is not ready for use until it is activated.
The battery in this product is not designed to be
removed or replaced. There is a risk of explosion if
the battery is tampered with, replaced with an
incorrect type or manipulated in anyway.

Thank you for choosing Libris. This responder features
advanced cellular and location technologies allowing you to
contact assistance when you need it. Your Libris can also
automatically call for help if you fall and are unable to
push the button. This manual will walk you through all the
information you need to know about the Libris Responder.

About your Libris
Libris is a small wearable device providing a simple way to
keep you in touch with emergency personnel and provide
emergency help when you are unable to call for it yourself.
Libris has several notification lights and functions you
should be aware of. Review the diagram below to get
familiar with your Libris.

2. Mini USB port allows you to charge Libris with any
computer based USB outlet or a Numera Home
HubTM
3. Power Cord connects the Charging Station Power
Port to a standard wall outlet.

properly seated in the Charging Station and
indicates the level of battery charge

Turning your device on and off
To turn your Libris on, press the call button and hold until
lights flash rainbow colors. Your Libris will take 35 seconds
to complete the start-up cycle. As an alternative, you may
place your device into the charging station and it will turn
on automatically.
To turn Libris off, press the call button twice, holding
during the second press until lights flash rainbow. Your
Libris will fully shot down within 20 seconds.
Note - When you first receive your device you must connect
it to the Charging Station before use. After placing it in the
Charging Station the device will turn on automatically.
Set up and Activation
Connect the small round end of the Power Cord
into the Charging Station Power Port located in the

back of the Charging Station. Plug the large end of
the Power Cord into a standard wall outlet.
Alternatively you can charge using a Mini USB
charger. Using a standard type A USB to mini USB
connect cable, connect the small end of the
connector cable into the Charging Stations Mini USB
Port than plug the standard type A end of the
connector cable into a stand type A outlet on your
computer.
Place your Libris
into the Charging
Station. The Charge
Indicator located at
the right front of
your Charging
Station will
illuminate when
your Libris is
properly connected. While charging, the lights on
your Libris will be off. The Libris charge status will
be reflected in the Charging Station Charge
indicator.
Libris will always automatically power on when
placed in the Charging Station. During first time
setup Libris will provide a 1-2 minute audio
overview after it is placed in the Charging Station.
This overview can be referenced below.
It takes Libris about 4 hours to fully charge.
“Welcome to Libris, your Mobile Health Responder. With
one touch of the call button your personal response team
will be available to assist you. Your Libris will notify your
response team when it detects a fall, and will pinpoint your
exact location so help can reach you.”

Note: Please allow your Libris to remain in the Charging
Station, for 4 hours, the charge indicator will glow green
confirming your Libris is fully charged and ready for use.
Activating Libris
Following the overview Libris will provide the
following audio notification. “It’s time to meet
your response team. Please press the call button to
connect to your response team now.”
Press the center Call Button one time for one
second. This will initiate a call to your response
team who will activate your Libris.
Listen for an audio prompt: “Calling your response
team now. Please hold the device and position the
microphone near your mouth to complete your call.
A team member will answer shortly to customize
your Libris and complete its activation.
When your call ends, Libris will be activated. Please allow
4 hours for your Libris to fully charge following initial
setup. Following the initial charge period your Libris will be
ready for normal use.
Note! - Libris is not ready for normal use until after you
have completed your activation call with your response
team. If your Libris does not power on and begin your
activation process than please call your response team. You
will find your response teams number on the outside of the
box your Libris came in.
Keeping Your Libris Charged
The Battery Indicator at the top of your Libris shows the
level of battery charge.

When the battery light blinks green your Libris is
well charged.
When the Battery Indicator blinks amber, you must
charge your Libris soon.
A red light indicates a low battery charge, you
should charge your Libris immediately
* Battery life may vary due to cellular coverage and talk
time.

Making an Emergency Call
To make a manual emergency call with Libris
1. Press the center call button
2. Listen for the prompt “Calling your response team
now. Please hold the device and position the
microphone near your mouth to complete your call.”
3. An operator will respond and notify emergency
services on your behalf.
4. An operator will stay on the line until emergency
help arrives.
Emergency call placed automatically
1. In the event a fall is detected, Libris will
automatically connect you with your response
team.
2. The Libris Event Indicator will glow white and you
will hear the following prompt “A fall is detected.
Calling your response team now. Please hold the
device and position the microphone near your mouth
to complete your call.”
3. You may cancel a call placed automatically by
pressing the center button.

Using Accessories
Using the Belt Clip Accessory
1. Looking at the back of your Libris you will see an
indentation with two rows of notches on the left

and right hand side. This is the attachment location
for you belt clip accessory. Placing the matched
notched side of the belt clip accessory against the
notched opening of you libris press the belt clip
accessory in firmly aligning the notches and slide
the belt clip accessory toward the top of the
device. You will hear a click when the belt clip
accessory is properly locked in place. You may
confirm that your belt clip accessory is properly
locked by pressing down on the belt clip and seeing
that it stays in place.
2. Libris should be worn vertically with the Call
button facing forward.
Using you Lanyard Accessory
1. Looking at the back of your Libris you will see an
indentation with two rows of notches on the lefat
and right hand side. This is the attachment location
for you belt clip accessory. Placing the matched
notched side of the belt clip accessory against the
notched opening of you libris press the belt clip
accessory in firmly aligning the notches and slide the
belt clip accessory toward the top of the device.
You will hear a click when the belt clip accessory is
properly locked in place. You may confirm that your
belt clip accessory is properly locked by pressing
down on the belt clip and seeing that it stays in
place.
2. Take the plastic hook on your lanyard and clip it to
the lanyard attachment.
3. The lanyard should be worn around the neck only
with the Call button facing forward at all times.

Numera Libris Warranty
Hardware
Numera, Inc. (Numera) warrants to the end user (customer)
that this hardware product - which comprises the Numera
Libris interface device and product accessories - will be
free from defects in workmanship and materials, under
normal use and service, for 12 months from the date of
activation from Numera or its authorized reseller.
Numera's sole obligation under this express warranty shall
be, at Numera’s option and expense, to repair the
defective product or part, deliver to customer an
equivalent product or part to replace the defective item,
or, if neither of the two foregoing options is reasonably
available, Numera may, in its sole discretion, refund to
customer the purchase price paid for the defective
product. All products that are replaced will become the
property of Numera. Replacement products may be new or

reconditioned. Numera warrants any replaced or repaired
product or part for 12 months from shipment, or the
remainder of the initial warranty period, whichever is
longer.
The warranty does not cover:
• Defects or damage as the result of use of the product in
other than its customary purpose.
• Defects or damage from misuse, accident, water, or
neglect.
• Product subjected to unauthorized product
modifications.
• Product that has had its serial number removed or made
illegible.
• Freight costs to repair center.
• Product which, due to illegal or unauthorized alteration
of the software/firmware in the product, does not function
in accordance with Numera’s published specifications of
the FCC type acceptance labeling in effect for the product
at the time the product was initially distributed from
Numera.
• Scratches or cosmetic damage to the product surface
that does not affect operation of the product.
• Normal and customary wear and tear.
Warranties Exclusive
If a Numera product does not operate as warranted above,
customer's sole remedy for breach of that warranty shall be
repair, replacement, or refund of the purchase price paid,
at the option of Numera. To the full extent allowed by law,
the foregoing warranties and remedies are exclusive and
are in lieu of all other warranties, terms, or conditions,

express or implied, either in fact or by operation of law,
statutory or otherwise, including warranties, terms, or
conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose, satisfactory quality, correspondence with
description, and non- infringement, all of which are
expressly disclaimed. Numera neither assumes nor
authorizes any other person to assume for it any other
liability in connection with the sale, installation,
maintenance, or use of its products.
Numera shall not be liable under this warranty if its testing
and examination disclose that the alleged defect or
malfunction in the product does not exist or was caused by
customer's or any third person's misuse; neglect; improper
installation or testing; unauthorized attempts to open,
repair, or modify the product; any other cause beyond the
range of the intended use; or by accident, fire, lightning,
other hazards, or acts of God.
