For optimum performance, you should use a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection.
Never insert more than 50 CD/DVD in the “stack in”. It will damage the CD/DVD picker.
Use only printable CD / DVD if you want to print the label on the disks. For better printing
quality, use “ODIXION Photo Label” media.
Do not touch the print head nozzles or electrical contacts.
For safety reasons, store ink cartridges out of the reach of small children.
Do not drop or shake ink cartridges.
Never use a power supply voltage other than that supplied in the country of purchase. Using the
incorrect voltage could cause a fire or electric shock. The correct power supply voltages and
frequencies is : AC 230V ±10%, 50Hz.
If you need to transport the DigiMatic, you must use the original package to avoid any damage.
Do not open the printer access door while the DigiMatic is printing
Ensure that the stack in is under the access door before placing new CD/DVD.
Avoid shocks and remove the discs before moving the unit.
Do not spill liquid of any kind, and do not place objects on this unit.
Never place foreign objects in any of the disc stacks.
Avoid dusty, humid, poorly ventilated locations.
Avoid places with extreme changes in temperature or in direct sunlight. The temperature must be
less than 30°C in the room.
Avoid places where ventilation holes would be blocked.
Avoid locations likely to cause vibration or shock.
Do not cut off the power while the unit is operating.
When you insert a new batch of blank CDs or DVDs, check that some of them are not stuck
together. It may happen if the spindle of media has been kept in a wet place.

It is recommended to do this test first, to validate both printing and burning functions when you receive
the machine
• Insert a blank printable CD-R in the “stack in”
• On the LCD, go to the menu [4 Maintenance] then select
[3 Save DM data]
• The DigiMatic will burn your blank CD with the
following files :
o Network parameters
o User accounts
o Database (public and private indexes)
o Hardware calibration (printing position, …)
o Media counters
• It will then print the CD with the following picture :
Verify the quality level: centre positioning, color display…
If the centre position is incorrect (the media have different printable surface), go to chapter “6.3 Modify
printer position”.
If you need to restore this data later (network parameters, users accounts …) to your DigiMatic, then go
to menu [4 Maintenance], then select [4 Restore DM data].

Select the files you want to
burn on your CDs or DVDs.
If your selection is more
than the capacity of your
blank media, the DigiMatic
will share the files on
different media, identifying
each media by printing an
incremental number on it (if
printable media used).
For example, the 2780 MB
files selected here will be
split in 5 different media.
See chapter “3.1.8 « Un-split » function”.
See “3.1.4 Job parameters” for CD & DVD formats and parameters selection.

To customize the label of your CDs and DVDs, you have to select a picture, and / or add some texts to
print on the label. These texts can be extracted from a database file, or just entered manually.
3.1.3.1 Graphic
CD/DVD label
For the label of your
CD/DVD, you can either
use an existing picture
(JPG, BMP, TIF, GIF) or
create one using « Click’N
Design 3D » enclosed
software.
“Fit to media” function
allows you to re-dimension
the image to fit the
CD/DVD size. This
function is unnecessary
when using « Click’N
Design 3D » as the size
resulted directly fit the
media size itself (12 cm x
12 cm).
3.1.3.2 Add text manually
Text adding: You can add
two lines of text as well as
a serial number indexed.
Serial number add: For the
serial number, just add %
character, and the initial
value. Numbers can be
decimal or hexadecimal.
Example : « S/N %%% »
and « 001 », in decimal
will provide : « S/N 001 »,
« S/N 002 », « S/N 003 »,
…
Select Printing quality:
- Economy: 600 dpi
- Normal: 1200 dpi (paper)
- Quality: 2400 dpi (photo)

Text file exemple
3.1.3.3 Add dates and user names
You can also, insert the date
and user name
corresponding to you job,
automatically, by adding:
--user--
--date--
This function is helpful to
identify jobs during
automatic back-up…
3.1.3.4 Add text from a database
If you want to customize the label of your CDs or
DVDs with a text, extracted from a database file
(mailing), you have to use a CSV file as below. The
CSV file can be created from excel files or text files.
- Excel file: Use the “save as” function, with *.CSV
file extension.
- Text file: Save a text file with the CSV extension:
• All the data needs to be separated by the
character [;]
• Each end of line must have a “Carriage
Return”(Press enter at the end of each line)
• You must have 5 columns of data (some can be
blank if you don’t need the 5 positions to be
printed)
In this example, the DigiMatic will produce 5 CD with:
CD1: « CD 1 Text 1 », « CD1 Text 2 »… « CD1 Text 5 »
CD2: « CD 2 Text 1 », « CD2 Text 2 »… « CD2 Text 5 »
CD3: « CD 3 Text 1 », « CD3 Text 2 »… « CD3 Text 5 »
CD4: « CD 4 Text 1 », « CD4 Text 2 »… « CD4 Text 5 »

- CD/DVD label (picture and text to print, including printing parameters)
- CD/DVD parameters (volume name, format, number of copy, etc…)
The [Back-up] folder is composed of three sub folders:
[Save]: this folder let you save a job on your HDD.

If your job has produced more than one CD or
DVD, then on the first one you will have an “Un-
split” application. This application will help you to
retrieve files that are on several CD. This is a
JAVA application. If you don’t have a JAVA
virtual machine on your computer, you can
download it at http://java.sun.com
- On windows, the application is WinUnsplit.bat
- On Linux, the application is LinuxUnsplit (*)
- On Mac, the application is MacUnsplit
You need to copy this application on your local
HDD. You will then have the following window:
Select the files you want to copy, select the
destination, and click on [Copy only Copylist] to
copy your selection, or click on [Copy All] to copy
all the files. The Un-split application will ask you
to insert the appropriate CD/DVD.

The indexer is a full text indexing engine, compatible with the following formats: PDF / Word / Excel /
Works / StarOffice / WordPerfect / RTF / HTML / Postscript / JPEG / and texts files.
To index a CD or DVD, just check the [Index] option, and choose if you want to index the files in the
public or in your private database. Each user has its own private database located on the DigiMatic hard
disk drive.
All users can access the public database as well as their own database. Nevertheless, their own database is
not accessible by the other user.
• Select the files, label and parameter of your job and click on the [start]
• Fill the [localization] and [description] fields (these information are stored in the database, and are
used by the search engine to display the results).
The indexing will start after the CDs or DVDs are burned.
