Anpassung der Knieorthese
(nur durch Fachpersonal)
Der Umfang der Manschette und der Bewegungsspielraum
Ihrer Knieorthese wird durch geschultes medizinisch/
orthopädisches Fachpersonal individuell für Sie angepasst.
Zum Einstellen des Umfangs der Manschette müssen
Gelenkschienen und Klettbänder entfernt werden.
Anschließend lassen sich die beiden Seitenteile von
der Rückseite der Orthese lösen und entsprechend
Ihres Oberschenkelumfangs neu xieren. Um die
Anpassung zu erleichtern, benden sich entsprechende
Größenmarkierungen auf der Rückseite der Orthese
( →siehe Abbildung Seite 3 ). Die Manschette sitzt
korrekt, wenn sie das Bein vollständig umschließt, die
Kniescheibe bleibt frei.
Nach der Anpassung müssen die Gelenkschienen wieder
so an die Manschette angebracht werden, dass sich die
Gelenke seitlich auf Höhe des Kniegelenks benden.
Zum Einstellen der Gelenke lässt sich die Gelenkabdeckung
aufklappen. Mithilfe der Metallstifte werden Flexion und
Extension justiert. ( →
siehe Abbildung A, Seite 2 ).
Diese sind jeweils an beiden Achsen eines Gelenks
gleich einzustellen. Außerdem müssen immer bei
beiden Gelenken die gleichen Winkeleinstellungen
vorgenommen werden.
Nach dem Anpassen wird die Abdeckung des Gelenks
wieder geschlossen.
Fitting of the Knee Orthosis
(only by experts)
The circumference of the cuff and the range of
motion of your knee orthosis are tailored individually
to you by trained medical/orthopaedic experts.
The joint splints and the Velcro straps need to be
removed to adjust the circumference of the cuff.
The two side parts can then be removed from the
back of the brace and reattached depending on the
circumference of your thigh. Size markers are stitched
into the back of the brace to make it easier to adjust
( →see Figure on Page 3 ).The cuff is positioned
correctly if the leg is completely enclosed but the
kneecap remains free.
After adjusting the cuff, the joint splints must be
inserted back into the cuff such that the joints are
positioned on the side at the level of the knee.
The joint cover can be folded back to adjust the
joints.The metal pins are used to adjust the flexion
and extension. ( →see Figure A, Page 2 ).
These must be set to the same level on both axes of
a joint. Both of the joints must also have the same
angle settings.
The joint cover is closed again once the adjustment
is complete.

Anziehanleitung

Zum Anlegen der Orthese öffnen Sie alle Klettverschlüsse,
ziehen Sie die Klettbänder aus den Ösen und klappen Sie
die Manschette komplett auf. Bitte beachten Sie beim An-
legen, dass die Manschette nach unten hin schmaler wird.
Legen Sie die Orthese von hinten an das Bein an und
schließen Sie die Manschette zuerst am Unterschenkel,
dann am Oberschenkel. Die Orthese sitzt richtig, wenn die
Kniescheibe in der dafür vorgesehenen Öffnung liegt.

Achten Sie beim Verschließen der Klettbänder bitte unbedingt
auf die richtige Reihenfolge. Schließen Sie zuerst das obere
Band am Unterschenkel, indem Sie es durch die vorgesehene
Öse ziehen und festkletten. Dann verschließen Sie das untere
Band am Oberschenkel, danach das am Unterschenkel. An-
schließend wird das obere Band am Oberschenkel verschlos-
sen. Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass das Produkt fest, aber nicht
zu eng anliegt, umAbschnürungen zu vermeiden.

Wichtige Hinweise
– Das erstmalige Anpassen und Anlegen des Produktes
sowie die Einweisung in den sachgemäßen, sicheren
Gebrauch muss durch geschultes, medizinisches/or-
thopädisches Fachpersonal erfolgen. →siehe Seite 5.
– Das Produkt darf nur für die nebenstehenden Indika-
tionen eingesetzt werden.
– Überprüfen Sie das Produkt vor jedem Gebrauch auf
Funktionstüchtigkeit,Verschleiß und Beschädigungen
und achten Sie auf einen korrekten Sitz. Ein beschä-
digtes Produkt sollte nicht mehr getragen werden.
– Tragen Sie das Produkt direkt auf der Haut. Es darf
nur auf intakter Haut getragen werden. Soll es in
Kombination mit anderen Produkten getragen wer-
den, besprechen Sie dies bitte vorher mit Ihrem Arzt.
– Sofern nicht anders verordnet, sollte das Produkt
während längerer Ruhezeiten (z.B. beim Schlafen)
abgelegt werden.
– Sollten während des Tragens ein unangenehmes
Gefühl, stärkere Schmerzen oder andere Beschwerden
auftreten, legen Sie das Produkt ab und kontaktieren
Sie Ihren Arzt oder Fachhändler.
– Wir prüfen unsere Produkte im Rahmen einer um-
fassenden Qualitätssicherung. Sollten Sie dennoch
Beanstandungen haben, wenden Sie sich bitte an
Ihren Fachhändler.

Nebenwirkungen
Bei sachgemäßer Anwendung sind
bisher keine Nebenwirkungen auf
den gesamten Körper bekannt.
Liegt das Produkt jedoch zu fest
an, kann es örtliche Druckerschei-
nungen verursachen oder Blut-
gefäße und Nerven einengen.
Kontraindikationen
In folgenden Fällen sollten Sie vor
Anwendung des Produktes Ihren
Arzt konsultieren:
– Hauterkrankungen oder -verlet-
zungen im Anwendungsbereich,
insbesondere bei Entzündungs-
zeichen wie Rötung, Erwärmung
oder Schwellung
– Empndungs- und Durchblutungs-
störungen im Anwendungsbereich
– Lymphabussstörungen sowie
nicht eindeutige Schwellungen
Meldepicht
Aufgrund gesetzlicher Vorschriften
innerhalb der EU sind Patienten
und Anwender verpflichtet, jeden
schwerwiegenden Vorfall bei der
Anwendung eines Medizinprodukts
sowohl dem Hersteller als auch der
zuständigen nationalen Behörde
(in Deutschland BfArM, Bundesin-
stitut für Arzneimittel und Medizin-
produkte) unverzüglich zu melden.
Indikationen
– Postoperativ nach Bandnähten
oder Bandrekonstruktionen
– Mobilisierung nach gelenks-
nahen stabilisierten Frakturen
– Das Produkt sollte vor dem ersten
Gebrauch und danach regelmäßig
gereinigt werden.
– Entfernen Sie vor dem Waschen die
Gelenkschienen. Klappen Sie dazu
die Gelenkabdeckung auf und
notieren Sie die Winkeleinstellung,
um sie nach der Reinigung
wieder einstellen zu können.
Entfernen Sie nun die Metallstifte
bei „Flexion“, sodass sich die
Schienen zusammenklappen und
herausziehen lassen. Die Schienen
können mit einem feuchten Tuch
gereinigt werden.
– Schließen Sie alle Klettverschlüsse
und waschen Sie das Produkt
bei maximal 30° C von Hand.
Verwenden Sie dazu Feinwaschmittel
ohne Weichmacher (z. B. Ofa Clean
Spezialwaschmittel) und spülen Sie
das Produkt gut aus.
– Bringen Sie das Produkt in Form
und lassen Sie es an der Luft
trocknen.
– Um die Qualität Ihres Produktes
zu erhalten, verwenden
Sie bitte keine chemischen
Reinigungsmittel, Bleichmittel,
Benzin oder Weichspüler. Tragen
Sie im Anwendungsbereich keine
fett- oder säurehaltigen Mittel,
Salben oder Lotionen auf die Haut
auf. Diese Substanzen können das
Material angreifen.
– Lagern Sie das Produkt trocken
und geschützt vor Sonne und
Hitze möglichst in der Original-
verpackung.

Fitting instructions
The pictures that go with the tting instructions
can be found on the inside cover (2) at the start
of the brochure.

To put the brace on, open all of the Velcro fasteners,
pull the Velcro straps out of the eyelets and fold back
the cuff fully. When putting the cuff on, please be
aware that it gets narrower at the lower end. Place the
back of the brace against the leg and close the cuff on
the lower leg and then the thigh. The brace is correctly
positioned if the kneecap is in the corresponding
opening.

Ensure that you close the Velcro straps in the right
order. Close the upper strap on the lower leg by
inserting it through the eyelet provided and fastening it
tightly. Then close the lower strap on the thigh and then
the lower one on the lower leg. Then close the upper
strap on the thigh. Ensure that the product is secure but
not too tight so as to prevent pinching.
Intended UseIntroduction
Important information
– The initial tting and adjustment of the product as
well as instructions on its proper and safe use should
be provided by trained medical/orthopaedic specialists.
→See page 5.
– The product should only be used for the indications in
the adjacent column.
– Check the product to ensure it is working and check
it for wear and damage before each use.You should
also ensure it is tted correctly. Do not use a product
that is damaged.
– Wear the product directly on the skin. It should only be
worn over intact skin. If it is to be worn in combination
with other products, please discuss this with your
doctor rst.
– Unless otherwise prescribed, the product should
be removed during long periods of rest (e.g. when
sleeping).
– If you experience an unpleasant sensation, severe pain
or other symptoms while wearing the product, remove
it and contact your doctor or specialist supplier.
– We use a comprehensive quality assurance system
to check our products. If you have any complaints,
however, please contact your specialist supplier.

Side effects
There are currently no known side
effects for any part of the body
if the product is used correctly.
However, if the product is too tight
it can cause local pressure points or
constrict blood vessels and nerves.
Contraindications
Consult your doctor before using
this product in the following cases:
– Skin diseases or injuries in the
area where the product is used,
particularly if you experience
any signs of inflammation
such as redness, an increase in
temperature or swelling
– Feeling of numbness and
circulatory problems in the area
where the product is used
– Problems with lymphatic drainage
and unexplained swelling
Reporting obligation
In accordance with legal provisions
within the EU, patients and users are
obliged to report any serious incident
that occurs when using a medical
device to both the manufacturer and
the competent national authorities (in
Germany BfArM, Bundesinstitut für
Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte,
the Federal Institute for Drugs and
Medical Devices) immediately.
Indications
– Postoperative after ligament
sutures or ligament reconstructions
– Mobilisation after stabilised
fractures close to the joint
– The product should be washed
before its first use and then on a
regular basis.
– Remove the joint splints before
washing. Open up the joint cover
and note the angle so you can
set it back to this level after
cleaning. Now remove the metal
pins in a “flexion” position so
the splints can be folded up and
pulled out. The splints can be
cleaned with a damp cloth.
– Close all of the Velcro fasteners
and wash the product by hand at
a maximum of 30 °C. Use a mild
detergent that does not contain
fabric softener (e.g. Ofa Clean
special detergent) and rinse the
product out well.
– Mould the product into the right
shape and let it dry in the air.
– To maintain the quality of your
product, please do not use any
chemical cleaning products,
bleaches, petrol or fabric softener
on it. Do not apply any fatty or
acidic creams, ointments or lotions
to the skin in the area where the
product is used. These substances
may damage the material.
– Store the product in a dry place
and protect it from sunlight and
heat, preferably in the original
packaging.
