Emergency First Aid _____________
Take care with toner powder:
If swallowed, give small amounts of cold water and seek
medical attention. DO NOT attempt to induce vomiting.
If inhaled, move the person to an open area for fresh air.
Seek medical attention.
If it gets into the eyes, flush with large amounts of water
for at least 15 minutes keeping eyelids open. Seek medical
attention.
Spillages should be treated with cold water and soap to
help reduce risk of staining skin or clothing.

Turning Off Your Machine ______
Be sure to follow the procedure below every time you turn off the
machine.
1Press <SETTING> on the control panel.
2Press the down arrow key repetitively to select [Shutdown].
Press <OK>.
3When the confirmation message appears, press then the left or
right arrow key to select [Yes], then press <OK>.
CAUTION!
Do not turn off the power switch suddenly as this may
damage your machine. Always follow the correct
procedure to ensure that no data is lost.

4When the screen prompts you to, press the off (O) side of the
power switch.
Power Save Mode and Sleep Mode
The two-phase power saving mode enables you to reduce the power
consumption of the machine.
Power Save Mode
When your machine is not used for a period of time (the default is 30
minutes), it automatically enters the power save mode to reduce
power consumption.
You can enter the power saving mode manually by pressing <POWER
SAVE> on the control panel. The <POWER SAVE> key lights up while
in this mode.

Note
The unit comes from the factory set to enter Power Save mode
after 30 minutes of idle time.
To change the interval:
1. Press <SETTING>.
2. Select [Admin Setup] > [Management] > [Power Save] >
[Power Save Time].
To disable (or enable) Power Saving mode:
1. Press <SETTING>.
2. Select [Admin Setup] > [User Install] > [Power Save] >
[Power Save Enable].
Sleep Mode
When it is connected to a network, your machine goes from the
power saving mode into the sleep mode after a set period of time
(the default is 10 minutes). In the sleep mode, the status of your
machine is almost the same as when it is turned off.
The <POWER SAVE> key lights up while in the sleep mode.
Important!
The machine does not enter the sleep mode if an error
occurs.
Returning to the Standby Mode
To return the machine to the standby mode from the power saving or
sleep mode, press the <POWER SAVE> key on the control panel.
Note
When the unit receives a print job, it automatically returns to the
standby mode.
